I only owned Forzas, the only time i've played GT5 was when i went by my friend's place, but aren't you guys being a bit harsh on spec 2.0? Imo, just the fact that Spa is in there would make me giggle like a little girl lol.

Man, i wish Spa comes to Forza and Bathurst and the Rio de Janeiro track from the 1st game.I know i'm asking too much, but that would be a bomb.

Opinions are opinions. I think everyone has agreed Spa is a great addition. The reason why some folks are a bit more harsh is:

1. Its been a year. You would think this update could/should have happened in the first couple months.

2. After a year, and a Spec 2.0 update there are still things missing that were promised.

3. Launching this update in line with FM4 launch seems, to me at least, PD already had everything ready, but waited in order to "compete" with FM4.

4. DLC, besides Spa, is very, very weak.

Nahh, I've played GT from the first. I'd love to be excited over 2.0. Tried it, bored again after two hours. Not saying they made anything worse in my book, they just didn't make it better either, spa, or no spa.

Back from vacation. Rarely had access to the web but tried catching up on all the latest. Tried the FM4 demo last night for the first time and I'm really digging it even with controller. I'm wheel-less on 360 for the moment but it seems like a nice improvement.

The spec2.0 update for GT5 is welcome albeit not as great as I was expecting. The RWD/FWD in replays is a huge plus in my book as are some other features. Count me in for day 1 on the DLC for track pack only. The others are kind of pointless. Car pack I was hoping for new cars, not racemods of cars that exist in the game. Spa alone has me drooling though!! And that kart track looks pretty cool

I didn't preorder FM4 and was dead set on not getting an LCE and now... I want the LCE. Anyone know if I'll have problems getting an LCE from a store?

It seems like the limited editions are truly limited in this case. If you're going to try picking one up, I suggest going on your lunch break because they won't last long!

2.0 allows you to set the time and weather in Arcade and Practice.

One of those brain damaging perplexing decisions that should've been in at launch, took em a year to do but at least its in. Have been wanting this for the longest time.

That we could only change those settings in an online room before was mind-boggling indeed, so I am happy (for the Photomode side of things) that I can set them wherever now. Also, turning Visual Damage off is handy - hated having an off near the end of a lap meant for shooting, and getting a dent.

It's amazing too that a "feature" introduced in Spec 2.0 is something we had the entire time in Prologue; the different tuning setups. You can have 3 sets again, but it should not have taken this long.

Turns out the Standard cars that have completely blacked-out interiors quite literally are cardboard cut-outs; the view doesn't show any extremities of the car, and has the same collision range as the "bumper" view. Cars like the Prowler, Tank Car, and others do show the exterior, but something like, oh, the '70 GT-R won't.

I'll be buying the DLC pack, because while I'd really like to see actual new cars, the RM cars are at least interesting to me. But mostly, it's because $12 to me is totally worth Spa with weather effects. That is a huge surprise from PD, while them charging for paint chips (which, from the looks of it, are a good chunk of colours already available in-game) is much less surprising.

I'll be buying SPA for sure. I've been asking for that track in either GT or Forza since 2007 so I have to buy it.

I'd have really liked T10 to do SPA instead of Hockenheim for Forza 4. As far as I know, everyone has been wanting SPA too. The new Hockenheim is way down the list of wants but its looks nice and still a decent addition. The old Hockenheim means more to me and is actually interesting to drive and watch, the new one I just don't ever think about or yearn for it. Maybe there's some rights issue (doubt it) or maybe its coming in DLC or the next game.

I've heard that EA has some licensing deal with Spa which is why it never appeared in GT or FM in the past but the fact it is now released as DLC for GT gives me hope we might see it as DLC for FM.

I guess I am a bit biased, and wanted Hockenheim because I was there once, and liked the idea of having those memories on my console. Granted, I only watched the race, but it was epic for me.

Just got back from the local Best Buy, and he's understating it. Parking lot was half full 10 minutes after open. 4 Standards, and 1 LCE, and they all dissappeared before I left. I'm about an hour west of Chicago, and don't ussually have any issue getting "hot games", so while areas may vary, there was at least some kind of rush in mine.

Ouch! Well, there's still time for those on the West coast to cancel your morning meetings and get their when the store opens!

I said it in another post, I pre-ordered the regular edition. Walked into BestBuy asked for the LCE on instead. Only 5 out of the 20 or so copies were Pre-Orders. There is still plenty there. Doesnt suprise me at all. It is odd considering how big San Antonio is though.

Of course, who knows, they could've started out with 5 standard, and 2 LCE at mine. Funny how these things work out sometimes. Ussually I just wait for the wife to start work, and get whatever game I'm after when her shift starts at the pharmacy. Ussually have no problem no matter what the game. Then again, a company that messes up the pre orders, to the point that BB did, having plenty of non pre orders in your store, and few in mine, doesn't really surprise me. They pretty much missjudged were to send the stock apparently.

What? That is all your Best Buy had?

My local Best Buy on the east side of Madison (phone is 608.242.0701) probably had at least 50+ standard copies. When you walk in, there is a display as you walk through the doors (it's a cardboard cutout stand up display) with 2 rows of the game and then 2 rows (I think) of the new wireless wheel. Then I went back to where all the games were, and there was about 4 spots, with about 10 copies in each spot of the standard. No LCE though.

Lol, they could've started with 10,000,000 copies for all I know. Point was that I don't know. I didn't even see the wheel at all near the displays, but I wasn't looking for it either.
This has always been a bit of a "cornshucker gearhead" area though. Lot's of farm raised guys with winters to waste, and with good parts car finds to be had in many a barn, so the more I think about it, the less i'm surprised this would sell well here.

Stopped by a couple of BBs and targets on my way home from school and all had 10+ standards while most had 3-5 LCEs still on the shelves.

I wonder why they chose not to include them yet? You think they are concentrating on American tracks if possible?

Road America is one of my favorite tracks. Road Atlanta is becoming a favorite as well now. Its actually pretty nice to see some American tracks, and cars. Not that it dominates FM at all though, there is a good mix of it all. Most racing games seem to leave out a group.

Ahem...GT5...you DO know other countries make cars, right?

I prefer American tracks as well. I was just wondering if that is their goal as an American company.

So should we have a GT vs. FM thread at ForzaPlanet?
