When he created the series in the nineties, his vision was something fresh, new, never done before. What happened is that times change, and that vision that he never fully realized because of hardware/time constraints, got kinda lost in all of this. That's what you get when you put the whole weight of the creative process in one person's vision. Forza, on the other hand, is a constant brainstorm... incubation if you will, lol. A team in a constant lookout for fresh ideas to integrate in their game, playing not only the competition, but other games outside of the genre and looking on what could carry over across genres, while creating some new ideas and concepts themselves. to me, this is the difference
This I agree with. Kaz has to open up for ideas, both from us and his employees. He has completed quite a few things from the feedback page, but that's just some minor improvements.

Very smart outlook on it. That's exactly how it seems to be going down.

I'm no expert on different cultures and can only go by the very little I know but I think none of his employees would want to "disrespect" him by suggest they know better and putting out ideas like that.

Yeah, Japan culture is like that... Respect, Perfectionism and Efficiency, very little on the hand of passion and soul. Lol, James May's "Italian Swear Jar"

That's what Im doing. 👍 Looks like it's going to take a while. 1192MB

Really interested in these new improved physics.

A while is an understatement. I went back and looked at the screen and said "DAMN". Opened up another beer because this is gonna be a while. Game is pretty much over. Lions doing what they want to the Bears.

I am VERY much interested in these "improved physics" also.

Here's hoping we'll have TWO great games to occupy the years to come :)

2.0 seems really underwhelming and I wasn't really expecting anything.

First, I can't manage to try anything online wise as I keep getting server errors(would think they would make sure they are bulletproof for the next week but I guess not).

Second they really didn't add anything, they could have at least added a new series or two to single player. The pit lane photomode location is yet another great idea but poorly executed as you can't stop the action. I guess the updated NASCAR models and the GT-R are a plus but they aren't really anything great.

Will have to take a few hotlaps to see if there is any changes physics wise but thus far 2.0 is nothing to brag about.

At least Forza is out in under 12 hours now.:)

Edit: I tried a couple different cars and have to say it feels off, it's almost impossible to steer without slowing way down.:nervous:

Hopefully I just have to mess with the settings but it's not looking good.

Great news indeed, Eau Rouge will be scary in the rain, new cars look awesome as well.

Also, I spoke too soon, I had to edit the controller sensitivity, physics feel great.👍

OMG Physics feel amazing I can happy drive on my DS3.

Not really impressed with Spec 2.0. Wasn't expecting to be blown away, still slightly disappointed. Some new cool options here and there (avatar in photo travel, basic replay controls, three car settings per car), but nothing ground breaking as far as I can tell. Of course the new "loading screen" is very cool and kudos for that 👍 but the loading times are still there. Well, to be honest there seem to be a slight improvement, but nothing spectacular. Changing oil or washing the car still takes WAYYYYY too long for what it's worth. Meh, it really seems like a desperate move after all.

Edit : Didn't notice any spectacular changes in the physics (Fanatec GT2), but didn't play long enough to say for sure and it's 6am lol

Still loads of tearing unfortunately :(

Aside from Spa which is fantastic, you have got to be kidding me with that DLC.

You just have to be.

Call me biased if you want (i don't care if i am), but after seeing this video i had to laugh at Turn 10's cheap attempt at recreating the legendary Green Hell.

Sure it goes up and down, left and right when it should. But the scale is what matters most when its a track that's so big!!

That's why i will forever be a GT-faithful. Even though it took 6 years for GT5 to release after GT4, that's the time it took them to recreate every turn, bump and nuance of their real world/city tracks. Including the famed Nurburgring. Every kink, every tree, every building off in the distance. Patience isn't my greatest virtue but a wise man once said the greatest things in life are worth waiting for

So... Microsoft/Turn 10 releasesa new Forza every year or so... while SONY/Poliphony Digital release a new Gran Turismo whenever they feel like it. Or better said, whenever the time FEELS RIGHT. Or even better said, when the developers feel the game is what it should be.. living to their mantra.. The Real Driving Simulator.

Now, this isn't without saying that Forza is a well-made game with great car models, impressively-decent graphics, and decent physics. It's just not on the technical level that Gran Turismo 5 is... it's a long ways off.

Please, don't reply to me with no talk of graphics because what you can do with GT5's photomode is far more impressive (with some photography know-how) than what Autovista can show you.

Can we please move on from the stupid ring argument?

IT'S WIDER, T10 even admitted it, find something else to complain about(there is more to both games than an overrated toll road).

Well, they have managed to make it seem like you get a lot for a little.

I can already imagine the 🤬 storm if you have to collect the racing gear and paints.

Saying that I will probably get the combo pack as it's cheaper than getting the cars and Spa separately.

Well considering no one is forcing anyone to buy it i guess they can do whatever the hell they want, this is a start. In my opinion Spa alone is worth $11.99, every other thing is added bonus for me. If you don't feel that this one is worth it there is always future DLC's.

lol at DLC

Spa is ****ing nice, but the rest seems like a bad joke.

Well, at least DLC will now be seen as good thing around here :sly:

Come on that Kart track looks wild, night light everywhere can't wait! I also gotta get the Stig outfit 👍 Im not getting the cars though.

People are crucifying Forza for selling ten cars for 5 bucks, but get all hot when GT is selling fifteen fantasy cars, which are based on cars already in the game, for 8 bucks?

I mean, am I the only one who's sensing a double standard here?

Spa is nice, though. It's a cool track.

Adding RM-type modifications to cars already in the game is not a start. And people criticize MS/T10 for *withholding* content?

Get the 🤬 out of here.

In fact, in fact you could argue that's the very definition of *withholding* considering nary a thing in that pack (sans the karts and I'm not even sure about that) is "new" at all.

Downloaded GT Spec. 2 for a go while waiting for Forza 4 (tomorrow!) and have to say Spec. 2 is too little to late - to get any of my virtual racing time now that Forza 4 is being released.
I was hoping for more for sure as I would like to get my moneys worth out of GT but it will have to be GT6 if PD wants to leapfrog Forza 4. Not that GT is a bad game but is showing it's age.

*** The simplified cockpit is a joke.
*** The replay enhancement is nothing more that a jump forward/back some seconds.
*** The AI is still looking very weak. I had a Mini that was giving up 30HP and I had the lead before I was through half of the first lap.

The menu's and some loading seem somewhat faster but the things that ruin it for me (in fall of 2011) is no damage, sounds (especially hitting something!), AI, deep events/career, and community/friends leaderboards.

I am in the right thread ain't I.... ah, yes. I wouldn't post this in the GT forum. I am what you would call a fair weather fan - buy and race which ever game satisfies my racing thirst at any given point-in-time regardless of the platform.

Stig outfit? Really? People are excited about a Stig freekin outfit? You are just kidding I assume?

Kart track looks like Mario Kart. Throw the X10 and new X11, on the Kart track, toss some green shells, and it could be fun I guess.

MORE Japanese cars that are RM of cars in the game. So no "new" cars.

Spa, the only saving grace in the DLC pack.

At least this might stop some folks from taking jabs at T10 for selling DLC car packs. Oh...wait...no it wont.

Dude, the way any race/sim fan SHOULD be. 👍👍👍

Okay guys, I need your help with this. Do I save up for a Xbox 360 with Forza Motorsport 4, or do I save up for a (more expensive) PS3 with GT5? I am having a VERY HARD time deciding. I guess one day I have to test both.

No actually I kinda just got into top gear with the FM4 hype, so recreating the whole scene is going to be awesome. Also that Kart track look pretty wild, but I will enjoy it also. Not as much as SPA though 👍 I don't care about your last statement because I have nothing against DLC. I also will not buy those cars, however 12 bucks is not bad to spend for the whole package.

Askin in this part of the forum...I am guessing more people will say Xbox and FM.

Personally, I made the leap from PC Flight Sims and Strat games to racing on the PS3. I have since migrated to the XBox, and have been more happy than I ever have. So happy I bought a Fanatec setup.

The way I decided? XBox Live is awesome..hands down. Games in general looks and run better on XBox (Red Dead, F1 2011, Dirt3), and after giving GT5 a fair shake, tried FM3. Damn...fell in love. Now FM4 is out tomorrow, and I am content.

^This.

Almost an entire year since release and this is all they can come up with for DLC. Lol.

I don't even know if I will purchase it after seeing what it includes.

What. A. Fail.

Apparently the "new" karts are available in arcade mode right now.

What The?:odd:

I really don't see how any GT fan can rag on T10 for their DLC policy after this.

I agree the Kart track looks wild. Just not something I was expecting to be in the same "track pack" as freekin Spa. As much arcadeish as it looks, no doubt it will kill some time. It doesnt seem to fit with GT5's stale feeling per say.
