Forcednduckshn's CLEAN, FAST, SPEC RACING LOBBY - "SPA TUESDAY 25TH!"

Are you running the room anytime soon Force?

And yet again, (I'm staring to sound repetitive now) more epic battles last night with JoeyFast, GlennMcGee, Eeers4years, Conman skills and a host of new guys to the battle with Gravy, Loco, BrianM3 and many others. Ran Lotus 111R@ Monaco on SM's, 111R@ Grand Valley East, Bathurst RX7 on SM's at Autumn Ring and ImpulGTR/CastrolSupra on RH's on Cape Ring.

SPEC LOBBY WILL BE OPEN TONIGHT

Time: To be determined, for a 2 hour window sometime between 5:30PM EDT and 10:30PM EDT.

Back after a long hiatus, I will be running the spec lobby periodically from here on out for the rest of the year and will update this thread when I do. If others want to host the lobby please do post here as well. Tonight will be for a 2 hour period. I'll update the time today. Will be running recomended cars only tonight on a mix of common/uncommon tracks. Expect a 3-4 lap quali session before each race and 5 lap races on most tracks. Looking forward to some great racing. Those of you joining, please be sure to pick up the other "spec cars" listed in this thread so that we can move beyond the recomended garage cars in the coming weeks. If you also have suggestions for cars, please list them. Note that when we run cars from our garage, absolutely no tuning or adjustments are allowed to any settings, default settings only minus the usual carwash and oil change. This is a 100% spec focused race lobby, prioritizing driver skill, adaptibility and racecraft and removing the tuning variable. This will be on the honor system, though if a person is suspected of cheating there car will be inspected.

Remember, clean racing is a major focus. If you bump someone off line to pass more than the slightest bit of accidental contact, give them the spot back. I'll be a nazi over this, race clean. If you get more than a couple of warnings you will be booted. Treat the race like "real life" and you will enjoy a great challenge, battle and fun!

See you there!

Thanks,

Nick

OK, I'm throwing in a token post to break up your run. Don't want you to get in trouble for multi-posting

I moving in a few days, so I should really be packing up my wheel rather than using it...but if your around this weekend I'll try to jump in on one of these.

Nice quote BTW ;)

Haha yeah the post police might arrest me, so thanks! :)

Oh, congrats on the new place. Definitely need to get you back in! Did a few 7 laps races last night and had some great battles. Some new fast guys have entered the mix that I met recently, Jake1015 and Speedypenguin, hope to see them back again. I took a solid win last night at London Reverse, but Jake waxed us all at Eiger Norwand short Course! I definitely need to practice these courses that are not run often; there are many seconds in learning the line and it's a great challenge and will keep it fresh-

The quote...it's just the truth my friend :)👍

Cool, I've raced Speedypenguin before. That penguin is speedy indeed 👍

Considering GT5 hasn't left my PS3 since I bought the game I've come to the conclusion that I'm not really a gamer

This sounds like fun, I've sent a friend request to Forcednduckshn. Not sure if I'll be free to race tonight, that Laguna Seca endurance race is calling me. Depends when my daughter finally goes to sleep actually, so I might pop by.

You guys are fast! 1:47s around Monaco on Sport Meds in a stock Elise. After that race the motors on my wheel were noticeably hot! Tank slappers out of almost every corner.

Had an early start today, so I had to drop out at 11 :( I was hoping do have some fun in the M3. I thought I nailed a lap and was still 3 seconds back lol

I look forward to racing with you guys again.

Good to have you man. Thanks, JoeyFast said I did a 1'47.679. It was a flier. I get around there well and if you time the lift off oversteer properly on the stock 111R you can really fly. That's really the key to going fast in it.

On a side note, DJSkills, and the other folks that were ramming people during practice and race, do not come back. I have written your names down and you will be booted immediately upon entering the lobby. No second chances here, sorry. This goes for everyone, I don't care if you are slower than molasses, just race clean. There is zero tolerance for this kind of crap in this lobby, it's just not the place for it and ruins the experience for everyone.

I also want to mention a few things to the noobies. If you are on a qualifying lap, but someone faster than you comes up from behind, do not hold your line and block them. Pick the next corner, give them room to dip underneath you and then tuck in behind them. If you time it right you can keep the lap time loss to under half a second and probably gain back the time in their draft. You will also learn something from following the fast guys, seeing their line, braking zones etc. Yield to faster cars at all times in qualifying. And if you have an off, check to make sure that when you come back on line, you don't block someone. This happened more than once to me and others last night.

Congrats to EERS, 1600, Myself :), Joey Fast, Ghoast and the others that took wins/had good runs last night. Had some great battles, and great overtaking moves last night, brilliant! Also some new quick guys that joined, hope to see you on more!

I'll try and drop by around 10 and prop the bottom of the field up. Going to remember to save the replays this time to figure out where you guys are gaining time.

I may drop in for a while. 👍

Look forward to having you man - room will be open in about 15 mins-

All gotta start somewhere. I'll never forget the first time I ran in to GTP_TimeAttack in a lobby in the first week of my online experience ;) Study and learn...

You think we can use some high hp cars tonight, like the cup cars, or Zonda (race hards is my preference but you or others may want softer)? :D

Haha, we'll definitely run the zonda/cup cars soon, good fun no doubt! :)👍

And thanks to all for a great night of racing, perhaps one of the more epic nights we've had recently (though every night is pretty amazing, haha.) Good battles and wins by the usual folks, and a new fellow, Veloci2NR showing he is quite quick, battling for wins himself and nearly getting one at Tokyo R246 in a 111R/Sport Medium battle.

I'll start doing race recaps for fun/documentation sake. The 4 or 5 races per night, 6 lap battle with 5 lap quali seems to be working out very well. 2-2.5hrs of racing seems to be a good stint; after that I become a little tired. :)

Eiger Short Track - BMW M3 Sport Hards

Starting the night off right at Eiger in a sport hard BMW M3, I put the car on pole with a flying lap and took the win over JoeyFast and EERS, Joey qualified on outside pole, but launched better and late braked me in to turn 1 to execute a brilliant pass. I pressured him for the following 3 laps, and took advantage of Joey out braking himself in to turn 1 and snug underneath him under braking to complete the pass, again in corner 1, which seems to be the best overtaking opportunity on track. EERS worked his way up from 5th or 6th on the grid to run us down and take a solid podium.

Indy Road Course - BMW M3 Sport Hards

Here, it was a great quali battle my myself, JoeyFast, Ghoast and EERS. Ghoast put the car on pole early, with me right behind. Ghoast went even quicker and gapped me by .3. On the 5th and final quali lap, EERS drops the hammer and sneaks in between Ghoast and I for outside pole. EERS apparently was up by .3 going in to the final sector on Ghoast's lap, underlying a great raw pace! The race started without too much drama, but some great battles occuring and dicing for position. EERS was caught up in a battle and allowed Ghoast and I to get away from the pack in the draft. Nailing some smoking laps, Ghoast and I traded positions while having massive braking battles going in to corner 1. I got by and managed to hold him off through the final lap for a less 1 tenth of a second margin of victory. Got a little sweaty in the chair on that one!

Nurb GP/F - High End Performance G37 Sport Mediums

In the best race of the night, Veloci2NR entered the fray and made it a 5 way battle for victory, with a few others showing great pace as well. Ghoast again set the early pace in quali, with Joey and EERS right behind. I was 5th on the grid going in to the final quali lap, but figured out the car and nailed a lap to pull myself in to 3rd quali spot, less than .5 off of ghoast. At race start, Veloci made a balls to the wall late brake on the inside and managed to make it stick and I followed in 4th spot. It was a great battle amongst the top 5 for the whole race. I pulled off a great late brake on Veloci going in to the right hander before schumacher S and then eventually worked my way in to the lead. EERS pulled off a great overtake on me in the right before the long run to final chicane, and I tucked right back in the draft in to the chicane to set up for a counter attack. We entered side by side, EERS gave me room but ended up going wide and getting a 5s shortcut penalty. I took the lead the next lap when ghoast cut and got a penalty as well, after Veloci had gotten back by me, and split the two going in to the final corner again! I came out in the lead with EERS behind me and Ghoast as Well. I kept the gap through the next lap or so, but then ran wide at the final corner, allowing ghoast to tow me and pass. Entering the final lap, I pulled a late break in to turn 1, diving at the apex but keeping it clean to overtake ghoast. I made it stick for the whole lap, under pressure from ghoast all the way through to the schumacher esses. I just dipped a wheel in to the sand there, only a 1-2 mph loss but it was enough for Ghoast, nailing the Schumi S, to get close going in to the following left right complex. Ghoast towed me in to the final chicane, I moved to the inside to block the attacker and entered a braking battle. Ghoast outbraked me, going around the outside, nailing the chicane for a clean pass and got through final corner clean to take a win in one of the most intense and technical battles I've ever had in GT5. Well done Ghoast!

Tokyo R246/Reverse - Elise 111R Sport Mediums

Another great battle, but this time between Veloci and Joey for the win. I fought hard, learning the track but was off the pace and had good battles with Ghoast and others to take 3rd place about 5 seconds behind the leaders. Joey and Veloci went down to the final corner, with Joey overtaking on the previous corner, and holding him off in the slip stream for a less than .1 M.O.V.

Good times guys. See you next race night!

Nick

Sorry I missed last night, had a job to do tuning a car for someone. I'll try to join next time if my schedule allows.

This is completely off my memory so it's short on detail.

Eiger Short Track - BMW M3 Sport Hards
Started mid-pack but lost a few positions when someone went flying into the first hairpin. Passing was difficult but I broke through the second pack but never was able to catch up to the lead pack as they were about half a second faster. Ended up 4th or 5th running by my lonesome.

Indy Road Course - BMW M3 Sport Hards
Another mid-pack start. Had good battles with several drivers. I out-braked someone into the first hairpin but lost the position quickly. Then they went off on the last right hander and got the position back. I think EERS caught up and passed me and I hung on to him with the draft but had no intention to pass. Another 4th or 5th place finish.

Nurb GP/F - High End Performance G37 Sport Mediums
Started mid-pack start. Some contact at the 2nd corner and then I made a mistake and cut a corner which sent me to 11th. Had a great march back up to 6th and was catching 5th quickly but I ran out of laps.

Tokyo R246/Reverse - Elise 111R Sport Mediums
Another mid-pack start. Got tapped on the rear at the hairpin. Kept control but lost a position. Ended up fighting for that position the whole race which slowed down my pace. Got it in the end, though.

So there you go. Typical day for me when racing against the best. I'm consistently a second slower. I start mid-pack. I'll finish 3rd-5th depending on what happens up front.
