Forcednduckshn's CLEAN, FAST, SPEC RACING LOBBY - "SPA TUESDAY 25TH!"

This is completely off my memory so it's short on detail.

Eiger Short Track - BMW M3 Sport Hards
Started mid-pack but lost a few positions when someone went flying into the first hairpin. Passing was difficult but I broke through the second pack but never was able to catch up to the lead pack as they were about half a second faster. Ended up 4th or 5th running by my lonesome.

Indy Road Course - BMW M3 Sport Hards
Another mid-pack start. Had good battles with several drivers. I out-braked someone into the first hairpin but lost the position quickly. Then they went off on the last right hander and got the position back. I think EERS caught up and passed me and I hung on to him with the draft but had no intention to pass. Another 4th or 5th place finish.

Nurb GP/F - High End Performance G37 Sport Mediums
Started mid-pack start. Some contact at the 2nd corner and then I made a mistake and cut a corner which sent me to 11th. Had a great march back up to 6th and was catching 5th quickly but I ran out of laps.

Tokyo R246/Reverse - Elise 111R Sport Mediums
Another mid-pack start. Got tapped on the rear at the hairpin. Kept control but lost a position. Ended up fighting for that position the whole race which slowed down my pace. Got it in the end, though.

So there you go. Typical day for me when racing against the best. I'm consistently a second slower. I start mid-pack. I'll finish 3rd-5th depending on what happens up front.

good times brother 👍

Lobby will be open tonight, will post about an hour in advance, targeting 7:30 or so :)

Epic battles last night as usual with Pierre, Joey, Choate and others. A new fast racer made his debut as well - hut!! Well done man and look forward to seeing you again soon!

Some of the best racing I've ever had on GT5, was simply fantastic stuff! :)

Hell yeah, thanks! Pretty much every night in the lobby, haha

Also guys, I'm tossing the idea around about a "CLEAN, FAST, SPEC TIME TRIAL." The time trial would be with a recomended car and a set number of laps with no tire wear in a given course combo. Let me know if you guys have any interest in this. It would be a low lap number, done in a single stint. Something like "30 lap TT session on London." Of course this all on the honors system; best way to do it would be to do a 30 lap race online with no tire wear on and see the best lap you get. No practice in advance with the car/tires you are using! Of course, noone can stop you from doing otherwise -and some may have more experience on a particular track combo and this is inherently a great advantage. The goal here is to simulate the GT Academy style TT's without the hours of sweat and energy drinks :). Let me know if you are interested and I'll begin setting something up as a supplement to the 2-3 Times per week racing lobby. Thanks guys!

Nick

Started having some problems with GT5 servers. First the game froze and then I got disconnected. Had a lot of fun, you had some amazing drivers there. Looking forward for another run. 👍

thanks brother you too!!

Amazing battles tonight....joeyfast, nepal, hortus, and ghoast! Suzuka battle...insane... 👍

Thanks for some great drivers making a great night of racing tonight! However, there were some not so good guys bumping and banging. Clavey26 - consider this your last chance. I watched the video at Eiger...big no no my friend. :dunce: if you take someone out, let them back. You played bumper cars on purpose. If I catch even the slightest tap from you again, you're banned forever. Consider that a friendly gesture, on most other nights I would say you are gone for good with those shenanigans :)

I got your invite, but I had just finished racing for the night! Sorry I couldn't make it, another time for sure! :)

Quick overview of the races last night:

Trial Mountain/Reverse: Sti Comfort Med: Did a 1'43.8 in quali to take pole, with good pace from Outlaw, Hortus and other in the race. Did a 43'.7 in the race without draft with pace for a loowww 43, probably a high 42 in it on an all-out hero run with some more practice. 43's are movvving there though :) Took a solid win. The comfort meds on this car are a great combo.

London : Sti Comfort Med - Another pole with a low 1'00 lap time, or 01? I forget - the usual suspects right behind. Again, this course is a ton of fun with this car, going down to 1st for the 1st corner to get some rotation and then standing on it is good for a tenth or two :) Take "aggresive" curb everywhere too.

Eiger Nordwand Short Track: M3 Sport Hards: Here, Nepal and Ghoast showed up and went right to the top of the time sheets, Nepal taking pole with Ghoast right behind. I slotted in to 3rd .346 off of pole, with speedypenguin, hortus and others right behind. Ghoast ended up finding his way past Nepal to take a great win while they set blistering pace at the front. My race was over in the 1st corner when I was punted HARD in to the outside wall...lol fought hard to get back to 5th and was challenging for 4th at the end. Ghoast and Nepal took the win by a sizeable margin and were the class of the field on this one.

Madrid Reverse: M3 Sport Hards - One of my best tracks, I took pole here over Joeyfast, who is also ridiculously fast on these tight, transitional city courses. Joey and I are both accomplished autocrossers and it seems to show on these kinds of courses. Joey and I battled right down to the last lap with a fierce overtaking battle and a little fender rubbing, but clean battle. I came across the line with Joey in tow to take a .046 Margin of Victory win. Our pace was blistering, and in the draft I think we managed to pull out over a 10 second margin to 3rd.

Suzuka: Calsonic Impul GTR Race Hards: To end the night I put up a killer combo, JGTC500 on Suzuka. After struggling with traffic in quali, my last timed lap was a flier, 2'00.3 to take pole by about a tenth over Ghoast, who is a Suzuka master. Joey followed suit. Ghoast and I proceeded to have an epic battle, running 2'00.00's the whole race despite us being gentlemen and pulling OUT of the draft on the main straight, exit of degner to hairpin, and the run to 130R, making it a pace battle. Joey hung back in the draft and watch us duel, in what was surely the best battle I've had at Suzuka. Leading in to the final lap, Ghoast hungout 3 car lengths behind me and set up for the draft pass exiting dunlop corner in to 130R. I gave him the spot and fell in behind, looking to counter attack with the aid of his tow in to the final chicane. We entered a braking duel, but I just outbraked myself by a couple of feet, got behind on the chicane and allowed Ghoast to run the last jaunt to the finish line uncontested. It was a brilliant end to the night - Ghoast, you are one of the greatest sir- :)

Sorry to those that were waiting for the room to open - Just need to get there early I guess! :)

Last night was really fun.Im starting to get some speed back from all the time I have taken off.Summer time ya know.Force?I was thinking 💡 maybe we can do track and car of the week race.I miss driving the academy cars also.Maybe we can dust the 370 and gtrs off lol just a couple of ideas.

Here was my take on it:

Trial Mountain/Reverse: Sti Comfort Med: Started mid-pack. Quickly got up to 3rd and ran behind Hortus for the rest of the race. I couldn't get close enough to manage a pass and Forced was killing me in the first sector. Got my fastest lap on the last lap.

London : Sti Comfort Med - Started 2nd behind Forced. Had nothing for him as he slowly pulled away from me. I really thought I would get challenged for 3rd but it never materialized. Pretty uneventful race.

Eiger Nordwand Short Track: M3 Sport Hards: Started 4th. Someone got me sideways at the third corner but I managed to hold on. I got stuck behind Clavey for the longest time, unable to get around him. Finally did but the leaders had pulled a large lead by then. Held onto 3rd.

Madrid Reverse: M3 Sport Hards - For some reason, I'm great running Madrid going forward but reverse is another story. I ended up crashing myself out trying to avoid hitting penguin at the last hairpin and my race went downhill after that. Finished far down the field.

Suzuka: Calsonic Impul GTR Race Hards: Started mid-pack and with cold tires, I got shuffled back a bit. I got a slight bump at the S curves and it sent me into the dirt sending me to the back quickly. I was able to get back to either 6th or 5th by the end. For some reason, I always lose so much track position at the start here.

Hi Forcedndukshn, guys

Sounds like a great pick-up race lobby 👍.
I'd love to race, Just not clear on a couple things:
should I just add you to my friends list on PSN?
And I'm guessing you announce race specs in your lobby, or via PM on GTPlanet?

I don't think i saw specific details anywhere, But then again, I'm really tired today from racing Studying, OK... Racing :dopey: last night.

I am certainly clear on this: Clean, Fast, - stock settings, great races!!

Looking forward to giving it a shot.

Hydro

PSN- GTP_Hydro

And with respect to race soft tires:
If I wanted to race slot cars....I'd go race slot cars :sly:

I'll be on for a while later... once my boy gets done "practicing" as he'd put it.

Haha, ok ok, the citizens of Forcednduckshncleanspecracingland are calling, and I must heed the call! :)

Tonight may be tough to host - I will post up here tonight (say 930 or so) if I'll be hosting. I'll do my best to host tonight. If not, I'll make it happen saturday night.

Of course, I have no problems if you core guys host the races when I'm off. Just stay true to the constitution of CLEAN, FAST, SPEC RACING ;)

Gravy - Let's definitely get the other cars going again. I'll get the list from the other thread and get it going.

Hyrdo - would love to have another fast guy join in on the action, welcome! Just shoot me a friend request. I send out mass messages when the lobby opens. When we start running non-recommended garage spec cars, you'll see the list of cars to buy and add to you garage posted in this thread. On race nights I choose tracks and cars at random, this way no one goes nuts practicing for them. Just get the combo, adapt in a 5 lap quali-session, and have a brilliant race with some of the best in the U.S. :) Stay tuned.

BTW - Love your comment on the racing softs...

spec- will keep you posted man.

Eers, sounds good my man-

Nick

Just want to send a personal thank to you guys as well. Been having a blast with it - yet the lobby is nothing without you; it's awesomeness is directly proportional to your participation. Here's to more good racing. I may end up making a series in the future with it, we'll see.

 to you all-

Ha, Thought you might...
I'll add you to my PSN list, and hope fully I'll be up for a race tonight.
Never said I was fast :nervous: lol.

I think it's ok as long as your clean. I joined and thought I was a decent driver. After the first race my thoughts quickly changed. Just make sure you save ALL the replays and watch them 3 times  and your guaranteed to get faster.

Three Times??

I wasn't expecting homework :dopey:.
Sounds good to me. I'll do my best. :gtpflag:

Haha Hydro/Benz, yeah no worries, clean is the top priority. The speed will come. There are great battles that take place at the front and midfield. I am sure you will enjoy! Just bring your A-game and positive attitude 👍
