No problem. I saw you online, but not on a lobby on GT5 so I was wondering what was wrong. Its all good. Looking forward for whenever you are ready to host.

Jumped in as the lobby was closing, so I started a new lobby for those that want more spec racing tonight! I named the room "everyone same car!"

Apparently I need to work on my starts with the h-pattern shifter. It doesn't like when you try to throw it in gear too fast.

Subscribing to this thread. These are great races, and I've been lucky enough to take part in a few of them. There are some incredibly fast drivers but I did luck out one time and got an undeserved podium at the Nurburgring GP/F1 haha! PSN: IndyF1GT3

Alfa 8C
Mazda Roadster RS 07
Ferrari 512BB
Honda NSX Type-R
Nissan 370Z Tuned GT Academy Version
Honda s2000
R34 GTR Spec NUR
R35 GTR (Godzilla)
R35 - GT ACADEMY VERSION
Fairlady Z (basically the US Nissan 370Z) from the new car dealership
Honda Civic Type R EK (the white one) (I think it's a 1997 Model) from the new car dealership


Again, you are allowed to wash these cars, and do an oil change - THAT'S IT- NO MODS, NO TUNING OF SUSPENSION OR ANYTHING ADJUSTABLE AT ALL. You can also paint the cars, change the wheels, anything cosmetic. Do not worry about if the engine is or is not broken in. I will set the power and weight caps below the max broken in power to eliminate any minor advantage from a couple of extra horsepower.

Note: changing the wheels may added a performance point - I am not sure about this - either way do at your own discretion.

From Thursday night moving forward, you MUST have this list of cars available in order to race in the lobby - so buy the cars and be ready to go before the lobby opens!!! :)

Remember, we are on the honor system here. There are 2-3 seconds to be had by suspension, gear ratio tuning etc. on these cars. Just don't do it. If I suspect you are fiddling with anything, even brake bias, you will be booted. Uphold the spirit of the rules. Though I don't think this will be a problem in this lobby; the kinds of racers that show up and race in the lobby are the cream of "Driving Purists" in the sense that they would not want to cheat to win. I fall in to this category as I'm sure all of that folks that fight at the front are race after race. Keep it spec, everyone has the exact same equipment and setup, let the driving talent and racecraft win the race.

I might have issue with the 370Z GT Academy car, I have it in my possesion but I believe it has a stage 1 or 2 engine mod affixed to it, Is it ok to power limiter the car back to it's stock settings or is it advisable I procure a new one if possible?

Yes, please buy another one and leave it stock. The issue with detuning cars like that is that it only decreases the peak power. If you look it at the dyno graph for any car that you de-tune, you'll see that peak power will cap at max early in the rev range and then a horizontal line is drawn across the graph to redline. You will then have the advantage of achieving peak power earlier in the power band and with more torque. This is why de-tuned cars in the PP races tend to destroy non-detuned cars.

I believe you cant buy the 370Z Academy. You can only obtain it from a ticket. Correct if Im wrong but thats the only I got it. Thats why i only use it on Arcade as its rare, and I dont want to wear it out. Its an obsession, I know.
 
I've managed to procure all cars necessary but I can't get a 370Z, I'll keep trying but I might have to sit out those races :(

Are you talking about the 370Z GT Academy? Or the stock Fairlady Z? The Fairlady Z (same as USDM 370Z) is available in the new car dealership.

I don't want to exclude anyone from the running; if you can't get the GT Academy Z then we'll just avoid using it when you're there. 👍 Though, have a search through the original US GT Academy "Clean Spec Racing" thread that I posted in the OP of this thread. There is a way to gift/dupe cars that way.

It's the GT Academy car I'm missing, I've put a post up about it in the marketplace but I haven't had a reply yet.
