To me, The 2005 GT was a modernized version of the GT40. While the new GT is the revolutionized version of the whole GT.

Another example has been produced, this time showcasing Red w/ White Stripes.

...they [Ford] loaded the new GT supercar up with more lines of computer code than some of the most modern jet aircraft.

The GT has 10 million lines of code, which is about eight million more than what Lockheed used in the F-22 Raptor fighter jet, and at least three million more than Boeing needed for its 787 Dreamliner.

The reason for that is the car apparently has too much computing power. It's rare to hear claims of there being too much of anything when it comes to other aspects of automotive engineering, but apparently that's possible when it comes to software.

It looks like a stealth fighter, even more so than that Lamborghini whateveritwascalled of yore. I approve.. Again.

700 HP could mean a lot of things. I think the success of the last car might have Ford pushing to go all out with this one. Unfortunately there's going to be a lot of waiting before we see what it can do. My biggest fear right now is that this car sees the same weight bloat the Z06 did.

Ford have said one of this car's strengths will be its power to weight ratio. Expect it to be light.

I'm now thinking this thing will be giving the elites (P1, LaF, 918, etc) quite a slugging, just like the 2005 car did. Also, this looks far more sinister wearing that flat grey than any Lambo has.

Is the Ford GT going to be ready for Lemans in time if they are going to enter ? I don't think they should it's a bit like Lamborghini racing in F1. The Ford GT is going to cost $400,000  and the old one cost $140,000 ? The interior is boring and dark and has to many things on the steering (come on Ford it's not a F1!) wheel. the seats look like they are from a 90's sports car :ill: and why is the air-conditioning on the door like the Jaguar XJ220 ? Why is their no V8 you don't buy a Ford GT to save the polar bears.

Why are cars getting so feminine ?

Most likely. Willing to bet the road and race cars have been developed together.
I don't think they should it's a bit like Lamborghini racing in F1.
No it isn't. This is linking to their heritage, Lamborghini's F1 efforts went against their heritage so...
The Ford GT is going to cost $400,000  and the old one cost $140,000 ?
Tech, inflation etc. Not that unusual...

Probably be able to spec the interior in different colours, and it seems to work for Ferrari so... yeah.
the seats look like they are from a 90's sports car
And...? As long as it holds the driver in place it doesn't really matter that much.
and why is the air-conditioning on the door like the Jaguar XJ220 ?
What's the problem with that?
Why is their no V8 you don't buy a Ford GT to save the polar bears.
No, but Ford maybe thinks the car needs to he a product of this decade rather than a relic of the past. Hence why it isnt another retro-pastiche of the original Ford GT.
Why are cars getting so feminine ?
They're not, would be a perfectly decent answer. In fact, i'd say the opposite, pretty much every sector you can think of is dominated by aggressive styling and "fighter jet" influences.

If you're in the market for a brand new supercar, a couple of 100 thousand probably won't be a massive problem.
the seats look like they are from a 90's sports car
And more comfortable than in the 2005 GT.
why is the air-conditioning on the door like the Jaguar XJ220 ?
And that's a bad thing?
Why are cars getting so feminine ?
What is this even supposed to mean?

In all honesty I think the 2015 GT has a better interior than the 2005 GT.
A concrete bunker has a nicer interior than the 2005 GT. :yuck: The new interior looks alright, though. Comfortable and of good quality, but not very special.

They're not entering. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2015_24_Hours_of_Le_Mans#Entry_list

Why should the cost of the old one have any bearing on this one? A GT40 cost $18,500 when new, should the new car cost $18,500 as well?
Why is their no V8 you don't buy a Ford GT to save the polar bears.
Because a turbo V6 can generate more usable power and performance.
Why are cars getting so feminine ?
full

You can't be serious?

I must say that I definitely don't find the interior boring, it's very simple but beautifully designed. Also I love the xj220 style air conditioning position. And the 90s seats (possibly my favourite part of the interior).

Why is everyone going on about the GT's aircon being like the XJ220? It's in the engine bay like most other cars
