Max may have grown up a bit on track, but he needs to learn how to behave off track as well - Storming of the podium, not a good show.
Be interesting to see how he handles these sorts of incidents when he’s actually fighting for a title. Compare his approach to Leclerc (the guy he’ll probably be fighting) and it’s night and day

When did this happen to Leclerc? Being the race leader, fastest atm, taken off track by a backmarker who decides he's now faster and wants to unlap himself despite being in 14th place?

I don't remember.

Sure Max was a bit over the top, but nothing special. I wouldn't expect him to be polite after that.

This is normal human behaviour. This is what Formula One needs. Characters. Not media trained drones.
Trust me, if it was Lewis doing that to Max, rather than Max doing it to Ocon, you'd be sat here trying to get Lewis Hung, Drawn and Quartered. Double standards...

No, my pride can be shoved aside when Max does something stupid. I have been critical of Max plenty of times, so please, don't talk out of your ass.

Interesting legacy...although in an ironic twist of fate (Verstappen being the leader instead of the backmarker)!

I’m not saying it had. I’m comparing their approaches.

Verstappen has shot himself in the foot by getting involved with Ocon after the race - while we might joke about it, and whether or not Ocon deserved a slap or not, it simply cannot be allowed. There is absolutely no doubt that Ocon was in the wrong on the track - all this crap about having the 'right to unlap yourself' doesn't mean that a backmarker who is in the process of being lapped has the right to defend his position - they don't... that's what blue flags are for. But, none of that is relevant when it comes to what happens off the track - Ocon drove like a rank amateur today and deserved to be punished (and got off very lightly IMO), but Verstappen simply cannot behave like this after the race, and he risks coming off a lot worse than he might have otherwise. I can totally understand his frustration, though - that was one of the most petulant and idiotic moves I've ever seen in F1, but Verstappen needs to match his on-track prowess with his behaviour off it. Shame, because the whole incident soured what should have been a glorious weekend for a future World Champion.

Regardless, Max doesn't need to descend himself to the level of a NASCAR driver at the end of a race. Take the high road and Ocon will be the villain. All he's done is given Ocon some fuel to make himself the victim.

You haven't seen NASCAR have you? :P

He wasn't in the process of being lapped. Verstappen lapped him while Ocon was in pitlane. Ocon wasn't defending, but attacking. He indeed has the right to unlap if faster.

His point is that you can't compare their approaches, as we have never seen Leclerc react to an incident like this, maybe Leclerc would react much more violently in this situation, we don't know.

I can see your point, but (this incident aside) their approaches are very different.

I’m not sure I can imagine any other driver getting physical with another driver after a race for a (dumb) incident.

But eh

Being a human means we have the ability to express ourselves unlike animals can and don't have to resort to using physical aggression. Being civil or restrained has nothing to do with being a media drone, it's called being smart, another human trait.

He's still under the influx of adrenaline from racing, and he didn't punch him in the face. I'm sure we all are able to get over it.

Now that Mercedes and Lewis have both clinched the title....Is anyone interested in the last race in Abu Dhabi now?
