The original night race is upon us, as the Marina Bay circuit which hosted the first Formula 1 race fully under lights in 2008 is in its second season with the grandstand chicanes removed to make a longer straight. The proper Street Circuit is one of the most physically demanding and sapping races on the calendar for the drivers with the heat, humidity and relentless nature of the corners, bumps and walls. The grid is incredibly competitive at the moment, with Max Verstappen still favourite for the title due to his lead and everyone else squabbling over who gets the points at race weekends. Will any of the contenders start to mount a run of wins to close the gap? We will find out at the Singapore Grand Prix!

What I absolutely love on the social media channels is they're putting up the Ferrari 2017 crash and some people quote the "factual version of events" tweet that Ferrari put out for a laugh. A lot of people not understanding where it came from and starting arguments.

We only have FP1 but I think it will be another F1 race weekend where we see a close battle between the McLaren and Ferrari. Not sure if we see a Red Bull driver on the podium this Sunday.

It is not a surprise to see Ferrari and McLaren on top but not many were expecting to see VCARB in the top 7. It looks like their track-specific update to the front wing is working great but it would be interesting to see if they can keep up this pace in the qualifying session tomorrow. Apart from VCARB, some other teams have also come into the Singapore GP with a few updates to their car including Ferrari, Williams, Aston Martin, and Alpine.
