I remember football manager games for computers (work with me on this one - you'll get the point).
In the game, you had to chooe your players and your tactics, buying and selling on the transfer market, going to training, managing the injury list etc. And then you'd click "Go" or something, and it would play a 90 minute football match in like 30 seconds, during which time the results of your choices would decide the flow of the match.
F1 is like this, because the races themselves are fairly dull, but all the actual race is is an expression of the work that the teams have done in the period since the last race. And if you're up on what's going on, on the politics and the wranglings and the whys and wherefores of testing, the whole race weekend becomes a lot more interesting.
Also, if you want to make the races more interesting, really study the way the drivers drive, it's really interesting. Anyone else noticed how Massa does the Swedish flick before virtually every corner?
