Formula STOCK GT5 F1 World Championship Season1/Win big prizes!!

Well I'll have to remember to pop more fuel in on non tire shredding tracks like Indy. Anyways gr guys, the timer was giving me funny business the first 10 laps, I'd be 3 seconds behind then 7 then 2 then 9. I dont know if it was periodically giving me the gap to CBastion or what, kinda drove me nuts, then the mistakes. I'll try for a better run next time.

It was that, it happens to me quite a lot. :irked:

Well its April 15th and we got a 15 inches of snow up here in da North Pole dont ya know. (Mister you can join with me, I dont bit like Polar bear :sly:)

Anyways, sorry I missed the race yesterday, I fell asleep before the race started  .

Yes very good sponsors. :sly: Now it looks Pirelli have scrapped the soft tire for Bahrain, damn I was looking forward to Lewis beating my F1 2012 career mode Pole time again this weekend. Looks like he'll be slower than me now. :sly:

Haven't done a run around cote d'azur yet, I've never been uber quick there, not looking forward to the first few races. Monza would probably be my best shot at getting a 2nd place but the gearing restriction hurts that.

I've been playing in my lounge today and I've decided I want to host an exhibition Indy 500 race using the Formula drivers here but with open settings. The race would be sometime in May perhaps, a few hours before the Formula Stock WC race starts or perhaps the night before on Saturday. It would be a one off race, not a series.

As far as hacked cars, we'd be using the honor system as I think anybody who enters this would be doing so for their own enjoyment rather than to cheat. 👍 I think it would be fun. The following setting worked well:

Car: Formula GT (duh)
PP 845 PP limit
Power: 936 hp (full)
Weight: 730 kg (180 kg ballast)
Tire : Sports HARD or less
Draft: weak
Grip: Real
Mechanical damage: light
Room Quality: standard (to help with disconnects)
Driving AIDS: all off (doesn't affect your driving much at top speed. :sly:)

I'd prefer to use a 1 caution format where everyone would have a mandatory yellow flag on lap 40, run 2 laps at 55 mph then restart at the start of lap 43 and race the rest of the way (200 laps). This would allow early crashers to catch back up so their not having their race ended after 30 seconds on a 1st lap incident.

What do you guys think? I'm stupid and should shut up, F1 drivers dont do ovals, etc, etc?

You mean F1 on Oval tracks?

Hey Joe,

Had the same issue a while back with my DFGT, i opened mine and i didn't void the warranty. Entirely up to you. I like to mess about so i opened mine up and found that it was those lil yellow switches that were gone (see attached pic). U can replace them yourself with a soldering gun or you can try and get a new one from Logitech:

Hope you get it sorted out soon brother. Laters.

That's exactly what I'm going to do. Once they saw I was out of warranty Logitech basically told me to go fly a kite (or buy a new one of course which they still manufacture but conveniently don't sell those parts as replacements). I wish I had someone to teach me how to solder (I was a business major so I just pretend like I know what's going on) but a very nice gentleman on GTP named Mr Basher said he would do it for me for free if I ship it across the united states to redmond, washington.

I've been working so much haven't had the chance to send it yet, but I figure in the least I should let everyone know what a badass person he is.

The world needs more people like the both of you. Thanks for the advice, Art.

I thought indy cars only have 650hp?

I thought indy cars only have 650hp?

Well Indy 500 spec cars once cranked out 1,000 hp or so back in the days of the PPG cup. With 650 hp I'd have to use comfort Hard tires to make the corners tight enough. :sly:

Immortal, In America, a land far far away we have an open wheel series that was once called "CART" aka the PPG cup. They even used to race in east Germany.

sounds really fun , I'll try to join
p.s I don't think ballast is needed , or maybe just 30-50 kg to play with ballance a bit

The ballast is intended to reduce the performance of the car a bit, since the indy 500 cars have less grip.

EDIT: I started a thread over on the "interest check." Its not all pretty and nice but I hope to improve things abit if the idea makes it to the "spot races" forum.

I saw that immortal, I tried driving that R35 thing, holy lord that thing gripped the track like no other. Anyways I was 5 seconds off, after 3 laps to get gold and my money. :sly:

Wow that's alot of snow yet !
Are snow is gone and where around mid 40s on average.

Sadly i wont be joining you sunday at my favorite track Monaco but instead ill be joining Cas at Monaco .
To bad that these two scheduled races had to clash but ill be seeing you for F10 stock next week too.

Yes Endless, its very heavy snow/rain in the spring when a named storm moves by, it was like this last year in June with the rain. This pic is actually from 2007, so I cheated but it is still very high, we have around 12 inches on the ground at the moment still with the sun beating down.

Weather has been very unusual in the midwest, I saw 104 F on the car thermometer down at International cycling classic, in Milwaukee sadly I think this race has died off after 43 years due to very very poor management.

Cote d'azur is fairly tough in the FGT, immortal is going 2 secs faster than my best ever F2007 time without driving aids, I'm about 1 sec off my best ever F2007 time. I hope for a sub 1:13 if I can find the motivation to run another practice. :sly:

Your best in the F2007 is 1:12? When you said he was 2 seconds clear of your best I got pretty worried, but a 1:10 doesn't sound too scary... hopefully I'll be able to get online tomorrow to see his speed for myself. 👍
