Things to notice in this video:

The loading screen detects he is using the Fanatec wheel and shows the image of the button layout. Just as a controller shows a controller diagram.

3DTV support is asked about and is NOT confirmed to be 2D only however is addressed as being a possibility.

Personally I feel this game is just begging to be a 3DTV title. Previous videos shown of T10 did have what looked like Samsung 3DTVs. Perhaps just coincidence but Microsoft Studios as yet do NOT have a "AAA" 3DTV game franchise. Any "AAA" games thus far on X360 that are 3D are 3rd party which is weird and youd assume they are working on something.

Me neither, why would they?
The next step will be full 3D at 60 fps on XBox 720
with AutoVista 3D with Kinect:):dopey:

That does sound like the logical thing to do, yeah. And, personally, I'm expecting FM5 to be a launch title for the next Xbox (or released shortly after its launch). So, I wouldn't be suprised to see that happening two years from now. 3D TVs should be a bit cheaper by then, too.

Right now, I can understand Sony pushing 3D onto GT to give players a reason to buy Sony's 3D TVs, Microsoft on the other hand doesn't seem to have a reason to do so right now.

360 only support max HDMI 1.2 so technically speaking the bandwidth is not available to do S3D at 720P even if they render the scene twice one for each eye at 30fps.

So Xbox can't do 3D eh.

That's good to know. Rather T10 focus on more important matters TBH.

I guess MS didn't really think of 3D when creating the Xbox360... As opposed to Sony, I guess.

And I agree with Spagetti.

It can do but not at full 720P because of only HDM 1.2, some game use cheap re-projection trick which is not proper 3D effect but resolution is not compromised.

I doubt they'll be going lower than 720P just to get 3D up and running. Or compromise the game in any other way to do so, as it just affects a small minority of gamers anyways.

All I know is that the frame rate is cut in half.

Not wanting to sound callous but I don't own a 3D tv and I don't care much for it anyhow.

Edit Auto vista which could run at a slower rate would look good I suppose.

NBA 2K11 on the 360 has 3D options. And quite a few at that. What they are I can't attest to but I do know one option is the old school blue/red glass I believe.

It is all to do with marketing guys.
Microsoft have said the future will include 3D, they just wanted to take a stand back and see approach. However the whole entertainment industry has adopted it and prices for the technology are now starting to become more realistic and with a wide choice of content beginning to be available.

Anyone that calls 3D a gimmick, maybe just doesn't enjoy it or is uncomfortable with it. Sometimes the effects can be fantastic. True the consoles at the moment will suffer in either reduced framerate or resolution.

Personally I love to have the option like in GT5 to experience FM4 either way. I could very happily play FM4 at 30 FPS in 3D as many other racing games are that framerate anyways and still enjoyable. Or switch to 2D and play it with full framerate.

Optoma have a Nvidia & HDMI 1.4 3D projector for $799 coming in August that will produce a 120" screen from only 6ft distance. Can you just imagine AUTO VISTA on that in 3D and with Kinect.

Wishful thinking

Saw an Avatar demo on a £4,000 Panny and I simply can't understand what the fuss is about when those jelly fish things exist in some space between you and the TV. So really, there's no depth at all. Just stupid effects that appear to be within your room and not the world of the background film.

The way the 3DS does it by adding the depth to the screen itself is much better, imo.

3D TVs are perfectly capable of creating depth within the scene, just like a 3DS. It's up to the software creators to decide how they want to implement 3D effects. I saw Avatar in theaters and the sense of space and depth were amazing. It definitely wasn't just a cheap in your face gimmick. I haven't seen the home version on a 3D TV, so I can't say if it's different or not.

I did get to try iRacing in 3D at PAX and it was pretty amazing. Looking into turns felt very natural. The only thing that bothered me was the flicker from the active glasses. I'm sure the harsh trade show environment didn't help. Ideally I'd want a polarized monitor with passive glasses, and without a loss of resolution. There are cheap polarized displays out there, but vertical resolution drops to half.

There's the option of getting two identical projectors and using polarizing filters, but that's expensive and complex to set up. It gets tricky to manage over the life of the projectors too, especially if you wind up using one projector a lot in 2D mode. Then you'll have mismatched brightness as the bulbs age at different rates.

I think 3D will continue to improve and evolve, but it's not quite there for me to invest in it yet. If I do, it'll probably be on the PC first.

I don't own an Xbox 360 however I'm really excited for this. I love FM3 (play it a lot at my friends) and I'm sure I'm going to love this.

Does anyone know the purpose of that "turn" icon that appears and disappears on the left side of the screen with the 4 little boxes under it?

At this point everyone will be guessing. The only thing I've seen is it seems to tell you when you've made a pretty clean turn instead of totally F'ing up the turn without messing up you lap time. Might be some kinda bonus for something. Don't really know yet.

The same thing appeared in the demo where they showed the car overtaking thingy. The cleaner and better the pass, the more of those blocks would light up.
I think it's a bit like Shift 2's experience system, where you could get XP based on good passes, clean sectors, fast speeds and such.

Is it not just referring to how sharp the turn ahead is?
The more bars the tighter/the corner is.

I think you may be right. Its the only thing that makes sense if you watch this video.

Its exactly like that, they added a race bonus in the last screen where it give you the credits. Is a nice feature to have but in my opinion the visual feedback is way too subtle.

I would not mind them copying the kudos system but focusing it to reward clean racing instead of style.

Sounds like they've borrowed a few things from Shift... Corner Mastery/Clean overtakes etc. I'm happy they're adding things like that too, especially if rewards are attached, because to me it makes hotlapping and racing a lot more fun to have little things like that to aim for.

As long as it's focused on good and clean racing, it's quite a good thing to have, I think. If the game actually paid you for driving well and clean, that'd be nice. This should, in my opinion, contribute more to the overall price money you receive after the race then your actual position...
