real drivers don't slow down because of fear, not over a flying lap.

If you have no fact on a real carrera GT time you might as well not use it as an argument, you said it should do 2x and we shown you a 2x lap.

so If anyone get close to your real life ZR1 time you will be happy yes?

NA
4 mins you mean? Allthough that would mean you allow for over a ten minute time, so i'm guessing you mean 40 seconds, kind of funny since there is more than a 40 second difference between the top hotlap time in FM3, and the 1000th place in the same car (still in the top one percent of the board). I guess the thousands of drivers even lower ranked in the same car must really suck.
Yes i meant 40 seconds. Actually this is what happened to me. I was at the top one percent of the board and yet i sucked as i was about 40 second of the best.

You can also see in this Video how narrow the Ring really is and no it doesn't look like the onein Forza4. I thought Turn 10 was visiting the Nürburgring. So what have they been doing there? I was really hoping for a much improved Nordschleife and now i got this. :(

The track is actually wider than you think. It's hard to tell just how wide a track is by bumper cam.

Well so i am not a real driver as i drive very safe in my real life car on the nordschleife so that i dont get involved in a accident. But I drive the same car pretty aggresive in both Gt5 and Forza4.

I have been at the ring a few times and the version in GT5 is much closer to the original. I had really big hopes on a improved version in Forza 4. The times in a video game should be faster in a video game.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0zUVDJodv3w If a car touches the grass like this in real life it would likely be in involved in a accident. And a real stock Carrera GT should be faster then that.
I don't care if some very skilled guy can get near the record times in real life. I just want to be in the vicinty of 10-15 seconds with my mediocre skills and i cant do that in Forza 3 or 4.

Race drivers do not have the same fear normal people have. They are professionals because of that.

Also, touch the grass how? (I'm not watching 7:50 videos for 1 second) Grass does not = instant spin like some believe.

Just yesterday rookie driver Nick Percat stepped over a curve and onto grass at over 200km/h going through McPhillimy(sp?) Park at Bathurst in a V8 Supercar (read very powerful, under tyred and heavy race car) and quite easily kept going with an issue.

And what does it prove that you some pictures with wide road? The track is very long. I know the ring. I have been driving on it , i know how narrow it is. It's NOT like the on in Forza and most people having driven there will agree with me. Well but how can i argue with people who have no personal experience with the track.

LOL, wow, out of a half million R2 class times, the "sucky" drivers start in the top one percent. That's a new one. A 6:35.733 time in a Mosler MT900S "sucks".
Yep, so does any credibility this thread ever had any hopes of maintaining.

It's the same thing when people post wide sections of Forza, and not skinny ones. Oddly enough, I have found both games are inherently wrong in accuracy.

I envy you if this laughable version of Nordschleife is good enough for you. Turn 10 will not get MY hard earned money anymore if they keep up their lazyness.

the rhythm and actual corner ain't that much different in Forza 3.

the main difference is the visuals - the atmosphere, tree density, lighting, but Forza 3 has really wide, low curbs and runoffs that doesn't exist, it's what the widening means mostly.

not like they will miss your hard earned money. 👍

I hope you find value in the 800 ps2 era car models that you bought.

Well, with the choices we have today in racing games on console, it seems they are all guilty of inaccuracy in different tracks. Unacceptable maybe, but I still buy them.

same reason they redid the lighting engine, physics engine, sound engine, car models, AI behavior and so on?

I guess they are stupid :P

True, i buy them too. But Nordschleife is just the king of tracks for me, so i was really hoping for a reworked version in Forza 4 which would kick Gt5s ass. But at least i don't need to buy the Fanatec CSR Elite now. Without a right Nordschleife the Microsoft X-Box wheel is good enough.

GT is just as guilty with inaccurate curbing etc.

Look at the inside of the carousel for example.

And PD directly importing a vast majority of it's car list from a previous generation of hardware is acceptable? lololololololololololololol.

Well we all have our own preferences. For me nothing beats a Porsche GT3 RSR on a accurate Nordschleife. Maybe because i am german. But well now there is no GT3 ok. Now i get the same Nordschleife they sold me a few years ago. Well maybe you understand why i am unhappy.

Except the porsches i got the cars i want. And i still have high hopes for the upcoming race car pack.

So when they do what you want, it doesn't matter if almost all other parts of the game are lazily done, but if they mess up one track that you like, it makes them lazy developers not deserving of anyone's money?

You have FM4 (which is not out until the 14th in Europe)?

Now while that is possible do think it needs a bit of conformation, so a quick picture of your copy of FM4 with a handwritten note next to it with your GTP name against it.

As for the differences, well I too have driven the 'ring and without a doubt the GT5 version is better than the FM3 version, however as far as the FM4 version goes I'm going to wait until I have actually tried it rather than basing my opinion on video footage.

That's some selective shots used. Yes those parts of the 'ring are pretty much the same width as the track in FM3 (and funnily enough the same is true of GT5's 'ring at those sections).

However parts of the 'ring are significantly narrower than that, unfortunately in FM3 these sections were too wide (and lets be honest T10 were quite open about that - which is not something PD have been about the issues with Laguna Seca).

The reason however I want to actually wait until I try FM4's 'ring for myself is that the FM3 version was an improvement on the FM2 version.

The next person to double post rather than using the edit button gets an infraction, the staff are not here to clean-up after you.

I said not deserving MY money not anyones. Good for you if you like their nordschleife or maybe this track is not as important for you as it is for me. And PD did the 24h version of the track and it has weather which is very important for this giant track. I just wish they would also have the right racecars like the M3 GT4, SLS GT3 , TT RS Racecar and R8 LMS as premiums. Well the Porsche GT3 RSR will never be in GT5.

Sorry my fault. Of course i dont have FM4 , i meant FM3. FM4 is just preordered.

OK I'm going to make this 100% clear for the last time.

Stop double posting, if you have something to add to your last post and no one else has posted then use the edit key. Do not just keep hitting the post button, it makes a mess of the threads, creates work for the staff to tidy up and is seriously frowned upon here at GT Planet.

Sorry, obviously i am a noob here.

As much as I think GT5 has some serious flaws, the Nordschleife is not one of them. That thing is pure perfection in GT5.

No its not, while the track in GT5 is more accurate than the one in FM3, it still is not perfect at all.

In particular the elevation changes are not as pronounced or severe as they should be, which makes a big difference when you compare driving the real thing to game versions.

That is 100% true. I got shocked when i was at the ring the first time after playing lots of gt3.
