One thing I'm increasingly finding to dislike about FM4's interface compared to GT5's as I acquire more and more cars is the lack of a favorites menu in the garage. It makes getting specific cars that I use frequently more of a hassle than I think it should be.

Go to grid view, highlight the cars you want to appear at the front of your garage with the right trigger, press A and 'create group'. After you name it and accept, those cars you highlighted will now appear at the front of the garage.

Holy 🤬, it's true. My crippling OCD when it comes to putting cars into categories has been cured.

Thanks for making me aware of that.

👍

Though now I'm going to spend like 5 hours just sorting cars.

Wow...I need to check that out too when I have time. I wonder if something like this can be done in Horizon as well?

I use the favorite/sorting system to group together all of my ALMS and Grand-Am series cars, including different classes within.

Agreed, but even so... Navigating through FM4's car garage is still faster than GT5s. Not sure how many cares you have in GT5 but neglecting favorites, it is a huge drag and waste of time simply waiting for GT5 garage menus to load up.

I have quite a few different cats gorier on mine lol.

Tuned E through Tuned a, each class has its own catagory.
Waiting to be tuned.
Untuned, but hand picked favs, ranging from E-S. each class having its own catagory.
Drift cars

And then all the cars that I don't care about are in the default catagory

EDIT: well I'm on my phone and I must have misspelled catagory so it put cats gorier. I was going to change it but I changed my mind. I'm going to leave that awesome auto correction.

I'm pretty sure you can skip through catagories by pressing either of the bumper directions. Making it easier to get to a diff catagory, rather then scrolling through everything.

I never owned enough cars to need more than a "Street" category (tuned cars with Sport suspension, Sport tires, etc.), a "Track" category (Race suspension, Race tires, etc.), and a "Wangan" category (stupid R-class cars). I like to maintain a (relatively) small garage.

Regarding MuoNiuLa's question (hey I spelled it right without copy-pasting :) ), I don't think Horizon kept this feature. I ended up training myself to search by class/drivetrain/manufacturer using the trigger, which is fine as long as I keep unused/untuned cars to a minimum. Money falls from the sky in the Forza universe so I can always buy them back.

Is it weird that I didn't know this? Some lifetime fan I am...

You bet your ass I spent the entire day yesterday sorting cars (including buying cars for no other reason than to sort them).

Wish it let you use spaces in the names withiut tricking the menu, though.

The car grouping is always such a big revelation to people, it was for me when I first heard of it. Maybe T10 can make it more obvious in the future.

There's always been nice little touches like that and we have to dig around to find. T10 needs to be a little more telling about this features because this little touches, while small, give you a little satisfaction to just know the are there... why keep them hidden has always been a mystery to me

Hidden? Dunno, but I've been grouping my cars since I first fired the game up. Had I known that that feature wasn't known to everyone, I would've pointed it out some time ago

I know right? Lol. They really aren't hidden, the options come up when you select a car don't they?

Well, I can't remember how I got to know it. I do know that I've grouped my cars since forever and that I never actively had to look for the option... Oh well, that's not quite at the top of my priority list of what makes or breaks a game, either way

Wet ass? Ew.

Though I'm not entirely sure what looking up Forza drifting on youtube will tell me, having played FM4 rather extensively.

Gran turismo developers have focused more on the realism and physics etc. Not on graphics or every detail on every car. We gt players maybe have worse sounds and graphics than forza but we have smoke when drifting , better physics and fuel & tire depletion.

Citation required, because the evidence available doesn't back that up at all.

Oh, and physics is still he other thread.

Not on graphics or every detail on every car.
Really because the stitching on the premium cars cars would suggest otherwise.

Worse sounds - Yes
Worse graphics - Yes and no, less consistent graphics I would agree with
Smoke - Yes you do have more smoke, that drops the frame rate and causes pixelation to an exterem degree.

Better physics - still the other thread and your going to have to explain why in some detail.

Fuel depletion - You've got that one.

Tyre wear - Both have it and its realistic in neither.

FM4 does have tire wear?

Yep - you can see it in the telemetry screens, its serves no purpose and is far too slow (as opposed to GT5 in which its far too quick).

I'm sure aasikissa can explain why, with its focus on realism, GT5 fails to come close to matching the telemetry data that Forza provides in that single screen (let alone the other half dozen or so telemetry screens)
