So Forza 5 does have the better physics engine right? , I've seen alot of reviewers say GT6 has the best driving physics on consoles but I'm not so sure.

sure if you never driven a sports car.

even neg GT6 reviews state best physics. You think everyone is lying ?

If you so whole heartedly believe GT6 has better physics then you'll take me up on my challenge of launching your supra in real life like you would in GT with no steering input and showing us the results....

You're right to be not so sure, GT6's physics are hilarious

So which one is it
After 30 minutes of trying all different ways, they finally roll the car. Start playing at 30 minutes.

To be honest If you take a car in GT6 at highspeed and keep changing directions quickly it won't roll either.

hey if you got a point to prove rwd sports car do it and prove ur **** or ask your friend to do it.

5 physics are a joke, majority car feel like a boat on water. float float float

And unlike most fanboys on here i actually own both, i don't post opinion by playing 5 minutes at a friends house or what my friends opinion on the matter is lol.

both games have issues.

I own both too, the fact that you're unwilling to prove me wrong speaks volumes

Wait, you want to compare physics of cars and driving games by not using the steering wheel?

I'm thinking it's to replicate driving with a mobile phone in one hand, and a cigarette in the other. In which case, you steer with your knees.

Also, does the supra have power steering?

If you launch a supra in GT6 and don't touch the wheel it will drive staight, do it in real life and youll end up facing the wong way or into a wall

yahh ill go remove my supra from winter storage cause a forza fanboy online wants something, grow up child.
Argue the point, don't attack the person (if you wish to remain a member).

Of course. No steering input in a driving game would mean the steering wheel is locked to 0 degrees. As far as I know, no real life supra can be locked to 0 degrees steering without steering input. Well, there is the steering lock, which usually engages when you turn the ignition off

Forza is able to replicate what would happen in real life, so why not GT6 if it has the more realistic physics?

If steering cant be locked to 0 degrees in a real life car, why would you use that to guage physics?

And how could Forza even model that correctly, if it doesn't exist?

Sounds like both games are wrong.

You could hold the wheel straight and just not give any input? Since you can't take the hands off the wheel in either game

Then both games are wrong, but GT6 is more wrong I would argue

Depends on your perspective. It sounds like forza might be adding some kind of steering input, which I think we both just agreed can't be replicated by a real car. Just for laughs, lets call it active steering.

Does anything like that appear in the driving aids menu in forza?

There is 'Normal' and 'sim'

It's probably in their best interest to be deliberately vague with these descriptions.

Which of those would be considered 'on' and which would be 'off'? Or do you think they are both varying degrees of 'on'?

Wait a minute. Are we saying that a situation like this:

zero steering was used in this (quite literally the steering wheel is straight for all of it).

is nothing to do with the tyre model and is completely due to deficiencies in "active steering"?

No, we aren't saying that, though it could be easily be done in game using a form of "active steering".

Tyre model, differential (open, limited slip, locked, active), road surface (including camber, gradient, density, heat) and left/right weight distribution could also contribute by varying degrees.

I just ordered GT6 on Amazon after a friend gave me a gift card. Come Tuesday I'll see if it was worth it, even at the discounted price of $40.

Also, I bought the Supra in FM5 and it displays none of the characteristics being complained about above. The fact that I read about people on both sides complaining that the opposite game has "floaty" physics, tells me that it has less to do with the game and more to do with what they are most used to. There are so many variables in place between you and the simulated physics onscreen, that you'll never get a fair representation.

This made me very happy to read. It's nice to see that somebody can look at this with a piece of maturity.

Also, I hope you enjoy GT6. Personally it wasn't perfect from my perspective but unlike many people here, I really enjoyed it. At the very least hopefully it's worth the $40.
