Is this serious? Are you actually trying to make a point of something Forza doesn't do because a name that's been in place for close to a decade now? If we want to cherry pick at such silliness, then GT has been misrepresenting from the start.

So, that's what? 75-80% of the game's cars that don't belong?

By far the most ridiculous attempt at a point I have ever seen in this thread.
Yikes @McLaren. O_O I was mainly talking about the title "Motorsport" vs "The Real Driving Simulator", not the first names of both games. I think you misunderstood my post buddy. ^^'

I mean, what you wrote is true about GT's name, but it was both games titles I was talking about. Didn't mean to upset you.

Thought I bring this post to the proper thread like this one, so here goes.

What about "Motorsport" in Forza's title? The problem with Forza is that it's becoming less and less of a motorsports game and more into a "Car simulator" because of Autovista. Why not have both, one will say. If T10 is going to have a racing simulator and have motorsports on their game's title, than they're supposed to be simulating this type of motorsport racing.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Motorsport

As I said before. Why not have both? Both motorsports AND Autovista, both parties wins.

I understand that GT6 giving you the ability to drive on the moon is silly, but that doesn't change the entire game of what its meant to be. So instead, PD kept "the real driving simulator" as the main focus of the game and added the Lunar mission as a side event.
Wait. So T10 implementing Autovista takes away from the "Motorsport" part of the game, but PD's implantation of the Lunar missions isn't doing the same? Why?

Hey Fezz. I'll love to hear your thoughts on both games content. ;) Oh and don't forget that Course Maker is coming, that feature is gonna rock! ^.^

I will go into more depth after a few more hours on GT6, I'm looking forward to loosing a few days playing it, like I have with GT's before it.

The menus in GT are still very annoying, everything takes an age to happen and it sucks the fun out (Forza has always been quick to navigate through) as I say I haven't gotten much time with GT6 so can't comment on the content as yet (I was disappointed that I couldn't drive on Goodwood straight away)

I'm looking forward to the course maker, it'll be nice to drive on a circuit I've actually driven on

Potenza RE series ? The RE series of ultra high performance summer tires should be comfort medium or soft depending on the model, the RE01R and RE11 for example should be comfort soft. Tire like Yokohama GP M7 would be comfort medium :) The GT86,FRS and BRZ in stock condition should have comfort hard ( used in the Asian GT Championship ) - I fitted comfort soft on my turbo 600HP GT86 back in GT5 and it grips good. If you try my replicas linked on my sig, you will see that even 400PS MR2 GTS has comfort soft. Even my upcoming J's Racing S2000 replica ( 280-320PS ) has comfort soft. I will be making Wangan Midnight replicas - 300-800HP cars with comfort soft only, 3 cars are under progress and they drive quite close to the real life one :D

This has been with GT, PD always fitted grippier stock tire to allow casuals drive the cars ( accessible ), imagine what it would be like if all the cars have realistic representation tire fitted as stock, there would be even more complaining threads around here , especially on MR cars with comfort tires.

I can't mind the exact tyres, my last car (Fiesta ST) had Yokohama Parada Spec 2 tyres on which are the closest thing you can get to a semi slick track tyre like the Toyo R888 (I would say they would come in to the sports tyre medium/soft equivalent), still my favorite tyre to date with the grip they offered, I couldn't carry any kind of speed into a corner like I can in the Fit for fear of having the back end come round on me, one thing I've noticed about GT6 is that lift off oversteer is somewhat absent! (Again) I know I know, different cars etc etc but any FF car will have lift off oversteer if you go into a corner too fast and lift off the throttle, maybe it has something to do with GT's inability to simulate weight transfer?

I'm not trying to sound biased or anything, but motorsports means a lot to series of racing. Now, if it was "Horizon", it'll fit perfectly, but not in motorsport. GT6 does have the Lunar Mission event, but that isn't the full focus. If it was than hell, I would have made a big over it. You see, I'm basically confused on where T10 is taking Forza now due to Autovista. What's the purpose of "motorsport" being in the title then?

No problem, take your time. :)

What's the purpose of Gran Turismo being called Gran Turismo if it doesn't simulate Grand Touring?

With both games centered around racing cars (a form of Motorsport), at least the term "Forza Motorsport" actually relates to that more than "Gran Turismo".

Again I'm not talking about the first names in the titles @McLaren, such as "Forza and Gran Turismo" and already agreed with you.
Gran Turismo is not the first name. That would be the word, "Gran".

You're asking why Forza Motorsport has the term "Motorsport" in its title. It's because it simulates auto racing, a form of motorsport, as its main focus. If you're going to question the title of one game, question Gran Turismo's as well.

Ohhh. Well why didn't you just say so, I wouldn't have continued to keep questioning. As I said before, I'm not trying to biased.

Even though I still feel FM5 is a better game, there's one more major issue I have.

Not only can I not auction or gift my cars anymore, but I can't even SELL them. This is ridiculous. I lost 250,000 credits (which is a lot in FM5) simply by buying a Beetle with a few upgrades and then "removing" it from my garage thinking I'd at least get something back.

But nope. 250,000 credits down the drain. Heck, I'd even be happy if we could sell them for a measly 100 credits like we could prize cars in FM4.

I read in an interview that Dan said that they found that many of the cars in our garage are ones we didn't use.. Yet they want to punish us for buying a car we don't like? That's only going to INCREASE the unused cars in people's garages.

GT6 may be pulling at my pockets but at least I can sell most cars and get a nice chunk of money back. I can understand the loss of auction house to encourage more token sales but this is over the top. Almost every game out there lets me sell my cars for SOMETHING. I can't even sell the parts like I could in FM4.

FM5 is a good game but it's annoying crap like this that keeps it from being a great one like 4 was.

Yeah, being unable to sell back your cars is a head scratcher.

Yeah, being unable to sell back your cars is a head scratcher.
It would even be okay if it was like 10% of the car value. It even gives you a car value in credits that's at 50% like FM4 when you look at it's stats in Autovista. Yet it's a useless number.

Hopefully they let us sell cars eventually. The framework is in place. And it would help me gain some seriously needed cash.

The lift off oversteer might be car to car basis, I read on other threads that there are FF cars that exhibits lift off oversteer, was it the new Clio or Focus ? I can't really remember :( The weight transfer in GT6 now is much more pronounced than in GT5, lots of MR and RR cars now are harder to drive as you have to manage the car's weight more diligently. I spent lots of time tuning - making replicas, in GT6, every aspect of suspension settings now have an effect to the car balance and behavior, even changing damper extension has noticeable effect in handling when I tuned my J's s2000 and ZEEK MR2 GTS. If you have spare credits in GT6, visit my replica garage, I got some cheap replica cars that should be fun to drive/race ( will need around 50,000 to 200,000 credits to built ). I will be posting my J's S2000 in a few hours, this car got me David vs Goliath trophy in Tuned Car Festival International B event.

Hope they implement these features back for FM6, as the auction house was a nice hobby aside of the racing which could make you good money and hand you bargain cars, and also having to invest in a expensive cars with 0 resale value is just plain ridiculous. You should at least get 50% back...

The more expensive a car is in FM5 the more nervous I am about splashing out money on it. Bring back refunds.

Hey Fezz. I'll love to hear your thoughts on both games content. ;) Oh and don't forget that Course Maker is coming, that feature is gonna rock! ^.^

I like that you ask for someone's thoughts on content, and then remind them of a feature that isn't even in the game yet, nor has an actual release date. It's a good thing you know it's already going to rock, though.

Phew, unbiased.

I was only reminding him about it, nothing more. Don't take what I said serious, I just can't wait! Also, I don't really like your sarcasm when saying "unbiased".

No one is really "unbiased". We all have our preferences. When someone chooses a game over the other as their favorite, it doesn't mean the other game is not good. It just mean one is better for my taste.

👍
I wish all fans of any series or franchises were like this. :)

Thhhhaannk you. Finally someone who gets it. I prefer GT doesn't mean I don't like Forza. I just prefer one over the other. Its like certain foods or drinks or whatnot.

He prefers Pepsi. And that guy likes Coke. Doesn't mean they won't drink the other just means they prefer the other.

All in all I think of GT and Forza as two sides of the same coin. Each have there pro's and cons. I spend most of my time doing drifting and Rally on GT.

I feel GT's tuning while better than GT5 is still less than GT4. But as for tuning PHYSICS, A.K.A How a car reacts to suspension, tires, weight and what not I feel GT is superior.

Forza has glitz and glam and lots of show. And while its a good racing game I feel it lacks in physics and feel. The cars feel.... hollow and empty to me. And they seem HUGE as well as the tracks. Tsukuba and Suzuka are NOT that wide!

GT's tracks seem more accurate size wise and the cars aren't as big.

But things Forza does have is Car sounds. (Which some in GT6 have been improved.) And the tuning such as larger parts selection and what not. Forza also has Engine swaps. The vinyle and decals is another.

Now combine both GT and Forza and what do you get. AWESOMENESS!!!!!!! XD

God why can't this just happen already!! T____T

You do realize that both Suzuka and Tsukuba are not in FM5?

Have you even played FM5? If not then how can you talk about the physics of the game vs. GT? And if you're talking about FM4 then why are you in this thread specifically for comparing FM5 to GT6?

Ok, after playing a bit more GT6 last night I ended up getting annoyed and switched it off, no matter what I did or how hard I tried I COULD NOT get my Renault Clio Sport to replicate lift off oversteer, this is unacceptable for a game that claims to be a simulator, I actually don't care if the MR cars have it, it should be apparent on ALL cars that have the trait in real life and this just isn't the case.

I was also reading through the GT6 forums and saw that downforce is not simulated either?!

I'm also still massively appalled by the lighting in this game, like I said before, it's horrible, it may make photomode look great but the exposures in game are totally wrong (I think the best lighting I saw was at Tskuba) I don't care what the fan boys say, the back of my car shouldn't be pitch black at 1pm, regardless of the time of year that is 'simulated'

I said in my other post that I will still play GT6 and enjoy it, I'm beginning to believe that I will never pick it up again

But but.... Kaz will patch all of that!

Both are about cars and tracks, yet do things so different and are way different products.

Ai both suck.
Graphics, F5 duhh new gen power.
Driving GT6 laps F5
Content lol need i even say.
Bang for your $ GT6
Rip of of the century, F5
More fun to screw around tuning F5
More fun screwing around driving GT6
More a fun game F5
More a Sim GT6
Makes you wanna slap the **** out of the creators, BOTH

outcome, i really really cant wait for GT7
I have no hope for the next Forza, hey it may be episodic content lol

So Forza 5 does have the better physics engine right? , I've seen alot of reviewers say GT6 has the best driving physics on consoles but I'm not so sure.
