Now I wish I would have tried out the rivals events before I quit playing the demo. I will put some effort in the full game for sure. I know I am nowhere near as fast as the rest of you.
Exactly. Traction control AND stability control on modern sportcars are very ajustable and complex and even talented drivers (like Chris Harris!) are using them when attempting a fast lap so I'm not sure this video is a relevant comparison. Also, Forza and GT and the likes would be wise to augment the ajustability of these systems in their game to better reflect reality.
@Speedster911 it was one of those non funny jokes of mine. I saw a lot of people saying that they won the Buggatti, I won it three times in a row which made me think it was rigged. Yeah it's useless because we don't get to keep it, they just put it there to show you that you can win great prizes.
The rain race IMO is the highlight of the demo. Just incredible. I have never experienced rain so well executed in a racing game ever before this F6 demo. Only other comparison would be PGR4 but even that is hardly comparable.
That video (I agree it sounds amazing) is a perfect example of the wandering back end. The back end gets very loose very often when I just wouldn't expect it to. Compare it with this vid and you'll see it just isn't right in Forza.
@PzR Slim track conditions are different. It's Yas at night time, track is cold, tyres are cold resulting in poor grip. Also I'm a crap driver if it'd be driving that beast in real life It'd be just as tail happy as in the game.
That video is just one example. In FM5, and I suspect it will be the same in FM6, that sort of behaviour happened on all tracks in all conditions. For me it's a fundamental flaw with how the most two recent iterations drive. It's like the front tyres are absolutely planted in RWD cars and it's the back end that gives.
^ I'm no expert, but in the F6 demo, where he loses traction the most is when he is attacking the corners hard and driving well over the rumble strips, which is causing the car to bounce. Also as stated above track surface temp has effect on grip as well. RWD cars always felt a bit tail happy in FM series however. On a side note though, I miss driving on Mugello, wonder if that track will make an appearance again.
@Terronium-12 is a sand bagger. He's faster than he says he is.Now I wish I would have tried out the rivals events before I quit playing the demo. I will put some effort in the full game for sure. I know I am nowhere near as fast as the rest of you.
While I didn't see the video, I can absolutely relate to this; and just to put myself at ease, I fired up the FM5 Y.Marina version with the same F430. Definitely more grip, none of that unnecessary lift-throttle oversteer nonsense, car reacting to curbs as it should and heyyy it sounds better in FM5 for some reason.
@ImaRobot Thanks,I shall try and get used to it!. Lime rock is a great little track.. Really tough to master and get that perfect lap! Loving it. Soooo many tracks to come in F6,it has me giddy!
You view them in the rivals menu, not the race.
Tell me something though: how are you guys getting into replays and photo mode? After finishing a rivals event, I go into leaderboards, highlight any player or myself, and all I get to see is "view gamercard". Where ARE the replays!!?
Absolutely brilliant... though it kinda stinks you switch to hood or chase view and don't see water beading over the paintwork.
Stunning shots; did you get them in the tunnel?

I'm not sure how much of a difference day and night makes... enough to cause mad oversteer like that even though the wheels are nowhere near full lock?? Not sure...
This isn't as much of a glaring problem in FM5 as it apparently is or might be (full game) with mid-engined cars and night tracks. Let's wait and see.
Oddly enough, the Z06 is far better planted in the rain.
It is however, a front-engined car, although I was expecting the tail to kick out a bit more on the wet track surface.
Weird... I had the exact opposite experience. I felt like there was way more grip in Yas Marina (even w/reduced grip at night) in FM6 than there was on the same track in FM5. I dont know, might just be me though. I feel like as a whole FM6 feels better and more responsive to drive, and I can't wait to try more when it unlocks.

Oh yeah, the physics are definitely a step forward. I love how the tires and suspension feel - they seem more connected than ever. Just wasn't expecting a mid-engined car to slide around so much.. but then again it is just one lap. Final game should give an accurate impression.
What are you on about? The main menu where it says Rivals/Start Career/Buy Now? There's only one option that says 'X' which starts the Rival event.
Let me try again then, maybe I missed a thing or two.
Go to leaderboards, press A on who's replay you want to view, then watch replay. Do this in the rivals main menu not before a race.
Dude, the only way to go into leaderboards is once you select finish race, isn't it? If I press A, I just get taken to a screen that says "view gamercard'.
What am I doing wrong?
On the track menu in rivals press y to view leaderboard then press A on who's replay you want to watch then watch away!
For me, what must be the only thing I wish Forza had set up like GT...
Adjustable traction control. I find Forza's tc very intrusive. Of course many of you would say 'turn it off' but I have a heavy throttle finger
On a scale of 1-10 ideally I'd have it set to 3-5. Tc is very heavily implemented in Forza imo, it just kills the car and also cuts in too much whilst sliding sideways
So I spent more time with the Ferrari last night trying to understand what was going on. Messed about with wheel rotation and found a sweet spot at 720 degrees. Car was much more driveable and the strange deadline/dead feeling at centre position was must reduced. It's a shame that I can't use the full range of my wheel to give more fidelity but I think wheel support in Forza is very much secondary to the pad which I guess for most people is the best solution as most use a pad. I hope the 720 sweetspot is the same for all cars as I can't be bothered to keep having to find it on a per car basis. Would be nice to have the same system in place as PCars where the game sets a soft lock on wheel rotation depending on the real cars rotation.
Ialyrn, you're a sweetheart! Thank you so much for the link. 👍
Unfortunately, Youtube doesn't work in my region; even tried using a proxy, but doesn't load for some oddball reason.
I'll keep trying. Appreciate the helping hand
You have to access the replays from the main menu.
You go: Main menu ->Rivals ->press "Y" to bring up the leaderboard ->select the person you want to watch the replay off. Which is exactly the same as it was in FM5 and FM4.
Is that the whole of youtube, or just my video? I just checked it for a content strike, and it doesnt have one. So it should be playable everywhere youtube is available. What country are you in?
Had a go at the demo last night and I really liked it. Did the qualifying series in the 22B and was lucky enough to land on the Veyron SS in the first wheel spin.
The rain racing at Sebring really makes you think about where you need to brake to avoid aquaplaning. Even my AWD Subaru was wiggling under braking when hitting a puddle.
Will have a crack at some Rivals events tonight.
I got the vid to run, finally. Youtube's now running through the proxy as well - simple matter of switching from Chrome to Mozilla. The browser was zee culprit!
I represent the green/white flag: Pakistan! . Where you from?
Can't get enough of Rio and the Ford GT. That plus the Vette on Sebring - can't get enough!
Can't believe we're going to be getting our hands on FM6 in a matter of days. You're driving skills seem quite adept; are you on a wheel? I'd like to race you sometime.
I would be one of those lucky ones that got it twice.$5 that everyone who landed the veyron multiple times in the demo won't get it until 8 months into the game
I would imagine you wont get it at all. The demo doesn't save and restarts everytime you launch it, setting you back at 0. That said, you'll be going through and ranking up over and over again to the exact same levels each time you play.$5 that everyone who landed the veyron multiple times in the demo won't get it until 8 months into the game

I doubt its luck, it seems awfully rigged. A lot of people got the Veyron and 1mil, even on multiple play throughs. lolI know, it was a joke about people using up their luck in the demo
From what I could tell it seems there were only about 10-15 options that circulated through the wheel spin in the demo. That allowed members a VERY high percentage at the 1 million or Veryon. I won both and another car on my 3rd try. Its just luck. I am sure there will be a lot more options circulating through the full game. Or who knows, maybe the lower level you are, the lower the options.I doubt its luck, it seems awfully rigged. A lot of people got the Veyron and 1mil, even on multiple play throughs. lol
What makes me believe that it was rigged is that it gave you the same exact potential winnings even through multiple playthroughs. The Veyron being level one, and the 1mil being level two. They would have been randomized, not literally the exactly the same, if this had anything to do with luck. Not only that, but making it extremely easy to win these prizes. They set up the levels, to play out purposely favorable, I feel. From what I could tell it seems there were only about 10-15 options that circulated through the wheel spin in the demo. That's why I said it had about 10-15 options. It was clearly and purposely very restricted for the demo to give players a very high chance of winning big. Very smart marketing. T10 did an amazing job with the demo. What makes me believe that it was rigged is that it gave you the same exact potential winnings even through multiple playthroughs. Then that falls more on being rigged, than luckThat's why I said it had about 10-15 options. It was clearly and purposely very restricted for the demo to give players a very high chance of winning big. Very smart marketing. T10 did an amazing job with the demo.
Rigged would mean 100% of the time you win the Veyron or 1 million. Then that falls more on being rigged, than luck
I've never known something being rigged to give the same outcome 100% of the time. I always thought it being more favorable more often then not, but not every single time. I suppose it can go either way, though.Rigged would mean 100% of the time you win the Veyron or 1 million.
Luck means you have a chance of hitting that. Not everyone won the Veyron or million. I do get your point.
