I always love those pics with every car in the game.

The Car List is awesome and I dare say it is only going to get better.

Also good to see the 2012 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon

To my mind the only vehicle that wasn't a Race Truck or Rally Car from Horizon 2 not to make it to Forza 6.

I'd like to remind you all that all cars featured in FM6 that didn't make the jump to FH3 and aren't VW could, at some point, be included as a prize in the weekly Forzathon competitions. Yeah, that includes the Kenmery, which is also enough of a Unicorn to be treated as such. The same applies to other notable exceptions from the carlist, such as the McLaren-Mercedes SLR, Toyota 2000GT and (IIRC) Plymouth GTX.
This would also allow them to release the game piecemeal, in turn allowing them to significantly reduce the size of the in-game data and/or install, and also have some more time to possibly provide some of the excluded cars with bodykits.

The time for despair will come when FM7 will come out. Now it's far too soon.

I'd actually argue that the cars already there suffer from what's missing.

I think this is an inherent problem with this style of game as there really isn't any real guide on what types of cars should be included. Sure now that they're putting more focus into off-road conditions you have rally and trucks but on-road they still have to come up with their own ideas. Motorsports games like FM, GT and other similar games at least have a rough outline as to what cars should be included.

I think FM6 gets its car roster right as it doesn't feel like there are many major omissions at this point.

I can easily think of a few just off the top of my head (LMP2, LMP3, new GT3 models, GT4). Even FM4 was lacking in areas and I would say that's my favorite car list in any game thus far.

That doesn't take take much away from the game though as it forces me to try new cars that I may end up liking quite a bit.

FH3 car list is brilliant I must say! For me, I think Forza 6 has the most balanced car list of any racing game I've come across. Hard pressed to find too many disciplines that are not represented: Classic F1, Can-Am, IMSA, Le Mans prototypes, WTCC, GT2/3, track cars, V8 Touring Cars, even racers from the 1930s ffs!
Can't think of any other game which represents all these, not even Forza 4.

The racing discipline selection is insane. Last time I played a game that entertained this much diversity was toca race driver 3.

McLaren-Mercedes SLR

Well ... I can't say I fancy to see the combination of these two, otherwise very desirable objects. :yuck:

As for the missing cars, I'd definitely love to see all cars from the past few games returning in FH3 (especially since I'm playing on PC and my last Forza title was FM4), but with such an extensive car list, I definitely had to think more than twice of what cars I've seen in FM5/6/FH2 that I desperately want to come back. But then, that might just be me and it's much different for people that have played the last Forza games ...

My comparison to FM6 was mostly in relation to its road cars as this category is highly relevant for FH3. That said, I do think the selection of race cars in FM6 is great too. There are bound to be some classes getting less attention than others. I've noticed that Turn 10 has three general criteria for cars included in FM6.

- Performance road cars that are relevant, classic, legendary, or otherwise noteworthy.
- Remarkable race or championship winners from different F1 eras to classic IMSA / Le Mans.
- Popular motorsports: WEC (LMP1 and GTE), IMSA (P and GTLM), Blancpain GT3, NASCAR, V8 Supercars, WTCC, and Formula E.

What these three groups share is thorough variety within their areas of attention. Not much of importance is missing unless we dig into the automotive underground or other race divisions. This is why I think FM6 succeeds where FH3 fails. There's not much class variety in the latter besides road cars, so I'm disappointed it cannot match FM6 in this regard.

Well Forza Motorsport games are more race oriented while F Horizon games are more about cruising and racing in an open world. I think it makes more sense to put mainly road cars since track and race cars are prohibited from going on public streets.

That's exactly my point and why I think it should have all the road cars FM6 had. They left out around 80 of them. I only metioned the race car divisions in FM6 to point out that its different classes are nicely rounded off despite aiming broader than FH3. I agree that FH3 shouldn't have race cars and I'm disappointed about the race car DLC they announced for it.

offroad cars?

Which isn't much. I think you're missing my point, which I can now see wasn't clear.

Well if i's Rally oriented DLC then i'm okay with it because of the outback, but if it's track race cars... unless they're V8 supercars which would make sense in Australia, why not but not quite.

Hmm since I didn't compare.. 80 you say? that's a bunch.. but they could very well come with monthly DLCs so I'll just wait and see. Bar Volkswagen of course, unless PG manages to get VW to give their licensing again.
I won't complain about them missing from the game, cause it already has plenty, but I'm pretty sure VWs are a big part of any car culture. I really wonder what are the reasons for VW to not want them to be in the game :/

I'm actually pretty happy to be getting a selection of race cars, just to add the what if scenario I wish was in Horizon 2.

Speaking of DLC, I'm really interested to see what PG comes up with or if they try bring the same diversity per pack T10 accomplished & filled out the different classes.

More so bc this game doesn't have the classes of different race cars to fill out, so PG may have to get really creative.

I think this is the game to bring back the tuner cars from forza 4, they can have new body parts and people shouldn't have to complain like they always do.

If the 1934 Alfa Romeo P3 makes it into the game somehow, that would make me very happy. I was just reading about Pur Sang, a company in Argentina that makes an exact replica of the Bugatti Type 35 and Alfa Romeo 8C 2300 and it's got me wanting that skinny tire action again.

.
It's real... sadly.

Looking forward to the thread that lists all the cars with widebody options. Those will be the first I'll buy. :D

Regarding HSV a sa separate marque, this answers why:
http://www.speedcafe.com/2016/09/02/qa-ryan-walkinshaw-life-hrt/
SPEEDCAFE: And outside of the race team? How committed are you to doing business in Australia?

WALKINSHAW: We’re probably a victim of our success and how we’ve marketed ourselves so closely to our racing product.

What people don’t understand is that racing is less than five percent of what we do in this country.

We’re a huge business with a few hundred employees who make thousands of units of cars every single year and we’re growing at a rate never before seen in our business.

We’re the only car company that is growing as well and we aim to continue that growth going forward.

There’s been a lot of success stories and a few more exciting things that’ll be coming into the public forum in the coming months which are really, really exciting for this business.

We aim to be a manufacturer of cars in Australia for a long time to come.

NOT EVEN ONE MR2. Srsly? I mean, OK, you've included the AE86, so all is (almost) forgiven, but...

I doubt a bodykit would work unless it changed the head and brake lights as well :P

Oh well. We still get a S14 so... >.>
