Reinstall the car pass. I'm not even sure why this bug still happens....
That's what I had to do. It worked, but why was it even necessary in the first place?

1966 Hillman Imp

1963 Opel Kadett A

The Xbox store issue is really starting to p:censored: me off, for three weeks in a row i haven't been able to get the cars on their due date. This time i took the time to download the entire pass again, and it just didn't download the 2 new cars. (And there's nothing i can do about it, it tells me to ''manage'' the dlc instead of ''installing''. I know i could deinstall and reinstall everything but i'm 100% sure it won't work. Why is it THAT HARD to get 2 CARS???)

Yes, Forza Horizon 4 is one of the best games i've ever played, but it's also one of the buggiest.

I'd just like to know what causes the car pass issue, because it can't be an internal clock thing, as someone else pointed out earlier. I finally got the bug for the first time last week. It almost seems to be a bug with FH4 refreshing your rights to external DLC, which may explain why reinstalling the pass fixes it.

But yeah, it really should be a reasonably-high priority for them at this point, because it seems to affect a ton of people. I just don't get how bugs like this happen, because you have to figure that FH4 is built atop the same fundamental bones that FH3 was, and it didn't have this problem to my knowledge. New code breaking old code, I guess.

Well I haven't been able to play at all for 2+ days now, thanks to MS's house of cards falling down

FH4 crashes while loading, after "press A to start".
Microsoft Store fails to download anything (e.g. Netflix), with the notorious "Something unexpected happened" 0x80072F8F.
Windows Update, won't, asks me to check if I'm connected to the internet.

It would seem these things are not unrelated, since they all started ~2 days ago, and have affected many people.

If I unplug my network FH4 starts up fine, just moans about not being able to check for updates... but it's not much fun in offline mode.

And now I've spent what time I had to play looking for solutions and rebooting etc etc :banghead:

My best guess is the issue is with the way they've changed how the season pass works. In the past there was no issue because there was no delay in unlocking cars, once the pack was downloaded everything was available. Now though all the cars are downloaded at once but not made available until a certain date. So my theory is that there is an issue getting the game to check for a season pass once a week instead of when an update is released.

Of course I know next to nothing about programming so what would I know.

I still don't have the NSX and the Merc, btw... Yes, I reinstalled the car Pass several times.

Uninstall every DLC except the expansion, then reinstall them all. Then go into the DLC Cars section in the game, and see if you can claim anything by hitting the little button with the three lines (why, oh why, did both console manufacturers give the face buttons convoluted icons and names this gen?).

This is how I fixed it for me last week.

Try completing one of the seasonal championships if you haven't and quit the game. I've done this a few times in the past and found that the latest DLC cars would unlock the next time I started the game. I don't know if this is the actual trick, but give it a try. Reinstalling the season pass has never worked for me.

I had that for a few hours yesterday too. Nothing can be done on our end. It doesn’t help that Microsoft don’t have service status webpages for their Windows services.

Edit: You could try flushing your DNS with “ipconfig /flushdns” in Command Prompt. I’ve read that has helped some people on the Forza forums but I think it may be coincidence that the servers came back on for a short time rather than an actual solution.

I’ve got unavailable car issue as well, but I can’t uninstall and reinstall the Car Pass. It doesn’t come up in my add on list. I have VIP, the two expansions, FD car pack, Bond car pack, Mitsubishi car pack and the Senna that came with the pre order, but not the Car Pass...

The pics of ClydeYellow’s Imp is a real tease haha.

I just accidentally found a fix that worked...

In the DLC cars menu, there’s an option to ‘Jump to Release Date’. When you press that, you have a choice of all of the dates that cars have been released on. When I chose 31/01/2019, the cars were now unlocked.

Hopefully that works for everyone else with the issue

I can't even play the game right now. I'm stuck on the initial loading screen forever.

Are you on PC? I have the same issue, played fine last night but it's not loading now. I'm on version 1.239.620.2, any other PC players in the same boat? I've tried resetting the game in Apps & Features, that's the only solution I know of and it didn't work...

Levante! Thought this would have more power this would get easily beaten by the Stelvio which is from a lesser brand in the Fiat group pretty weird, or is this not the top model?

Yeah. It's an issue with MS servers. You should notice that you can't pull any updates from the Microsoft Store and failure to connect to Windows Update too.

I'm never able to claim the car pass cars on the day they are released without restarting the game, it's very annoying when the loading times are so long. That combined with the constant audio issues means I'm rarely coming back to the game at the minute.

Thanks, I hadn't noticed those, I guess I'll have to find something else to play... The first-worldest problem ever!

I did try changing my DNS at some point, since someone said that got Windows Update working for them, but no joy. My other machines are also refusing to talk to Update (at least not properly), so it could be something to do with the route used to connect. I'll have a go with flushdns later if it doesn't fix itself but tbh I'm not getting my hopes up!

Last I checked the xbox live status page said everything was fine and dandy, but the latest message on twitter was that they were still working on it :dunce:

Try deleting system 32

If that doesn't work, defrag your drive.

Did you turn it off and on again?

Try cleaning the gunk out of your mouse. If that doesn't work, check your IRQ ports.

Thanks for the sympathy!

Try discombobulating your transmoglifier

Well I'm now denied my 60 FP bonus for doing all the daily challenges, which they only just got working last week :banghead: This is serious! ;)
