Forza Horizon 4: General Discussion

I’ve been doing the community route championships multiple times in different cars since they’re temporary. The one for this week has been especially fun.

With Rolls-Royce I think the shaking parts would be more likely than mud. We have had mud, dirt and damage in FM5/6/7 and H3, so they would have been gone sooner if that was the case. The last thing a ultra luxury handcrafted manufacturer wants is for their cars to look like they are about to fall apart as soon as you hit 50mph, not a great message is how they'll see it. Same with Toyota, people keep spouting the tuned cars or people don't buy the real cars nonsense (Mr Toyoda said having the Supra in a game is almost essential), when in actuality it is probably just a simple exclusivity deal or T10 have been behind the ball on licencing. I personally think T10/PG just missed a deadline with Mitsubishi and VW and dint have them renewed in time for release.

I agree with some of what you're saying, but I still get the feeling that the VW emission scandal had something to do with their omission.

I wonder if like the SS badges, Microsoft asked for VW to be kept out. I cant see other reasons to be honest, they still had toys/models made during that time and while they did leave motorsport, they wouldn't have had the Audi been petrol or if it was another brand in the WRC.

They don't like controversy, hence the SS badges and the emotes being removed, I honestly don't know, just I random idea.
It's not controversy Microsoft tries to avoid, but litigation. I cannot even begin to imagine on what possible grounds someone would think they could sue MS/T10/PG or VW for being in FH3, especially if all sides are willing participants. Clearly VW did not want to be in that game at that time, and whatever they were concerned about then, they are no longer concerned about now.

I keep driving on the right, hence wrong lane of the road in FH, even after Australia an UK. Japan is another of the few countries having the left lane driving rule :banghead:
Imagine how we feel on every other driving game ever made lol.

Before Horizon 3 the only free roam driving game I had played that was on the left side was the Getaway series on PS2.

Yes, but the extreme shaking of mirrors, wipers, etc. was a "selling point" of FM7 (where the Rolls are present), and is essentially gone in FH4. It's hard to think of a good reason for Rolls Royce to miss FH4, but clearly one has been found either by RR Motor Cars, by the BMW Group, or by Playground Games (who may have decided the Wraith and Dawn didn't fit their vision of the game, or that the licensing fees were too expensive, or whatever else).

What reason would they have to remove VW, and yet keep Audi? I think it's far more likely it was VW's decision - but it's hard to say, as (IIRC) no other major car game that may have been affected debuted in 2016.

3 Forza Horizons in a row with left lane driving? Not gonna happen.

I bet Spain (maybe canaries?) or somewhere in the US

South America would probably be a good bet(by that I would say Brazil)but I still think Japan has a strong case, it has the biggest car culture that hasn't been done yet.

I want my Kei cars dammit!

I want to drive Kei car in Forza.
Subaru 360 was available in FM7, but I hope that more exciting models such as Autozam AZ-1 and Suzuki Cappuccino will be added.
I already know that Autozam AZ-1, Honda Beat, Honda S660, Suzuki Alto Works, Suzuki Cappuccino etc are already owned by American museums and collectors.
It would be wonderful if they were scanning these cars.

My own guess is that Rolls Royce are probably just a stuffy old company that dipped their toes into the pool with the previous Forza deal, it didn't quickly lead to some 1:1 correlation of higher sales (because of course it didn't), and they said "why are we even bothering with this? Our cars are too classy and refined to appear in some... off-road driving game anyways".

I wouldn't be shocked for a second to learn that a bunch of old CEOs and board members don't fully understand modern video games, or what appearing in mainstream car games does for your brand.

And I'd bet $1000 that Forza/VW has nothing to do with the scandal. People got punished for it, and VW are still making well-known, well-liked cars. Plus, as you said - they kept Audi.

With Rolls-Royce it could be anything, they are so up themselves they wont licence themselves to 1/64 scale diecast manufacturers. Always thought Bentley have a much better attitude and I know who I'd be buying from if I was looking for that type of car.

Every clock and calendar in this game is aware it's 1/31/19.
The Forzathon Shop knows it's 1/31/19.
The weekly and daily Forzathon challenges knows it's 1/31/19.
The seasons knows it's 1/31/19.

Except the Car Pass Calendar.

Reinstall the car pass. I'm not even sure why this bug still happens....

The Hillman Imp is surprisingly quick and agile. That sweeping corner where the British Racing Green icon is, I took that corner doing 80 and it just went with it. Super cool addition.
