After an unfortunate BSOD at the last 200 yards of the finish, I finally got Upgrade Heroes done.

It sometimes happens when I overwork my old PC (well, 3 years isn't that old).

The UH story wasn't difficult at all. I three-starred nearly everything on the first try. It was a fun diversion, but nothing special. The one good thing that came out of it was reminding me how much fun the Clio Williams is to drive.

Decided to load up Horizon 3 after so long and the nostalgia just came rushing back... Everything about it is amazing in my eyes. The cars, the map, the expansions, it's all so good.

I stand by saying the Hot Wheels expansion is the best one they've ever made, bias aside and all :P

Really makes me wish they would've done an even bigger one for Horizon 4 instead of Lego. It's not that I dislike Lego, its just lacking in comparison to the "other" crazy expansion.

Horizon 3 really is still one of my favorite games of all time!

Same, FH3 is far better than 4 to me, most important reasons being the map and soundtrack. Since FH4 is being supported longer, there may be a third expansion coming up, so hopefully they put more effort into that one.

I do miss FH3 a bit. I remember back in 2017 I will put HOURS into that game. It was so diverse and fun! Although FH4's map is similar, I still have fun driving my cars around the main map, including Fortune Island and Lego Valley.

I look forward to the "regular" cars PG has in store for us all next year! :embarrassed:

Come on PG. Add the 2009 Nissan Versa SL in one of your regular cars pack, pretty please? :D

I just want some new Audis in the game, I’m dying for the new RS3, RS4, RS5, RS6, RS7, TT RS, RSQ3 and SQ8, at least just one of them :(

I’d love some older Audis as well, like the original TT from FM4 and the Q7 from FM7, or a new classic Audi like the 100 Coupe S or the V8 :(

A Ronin spec S8 and an S2 Coupe would be nice additions.

Absolutely yes. I've been wanting that S8 for a long time now. It could be implemented into one of the Story modes, the one where you are driving as a stunt man for movies. Heck, I still think "Create-a-Story" would be a wonderful addition to the game.

Sometimes I wonder if PG has these kind of ideas during meetings rather than "suMbIt a TiCkeT!" or post in the "wishlist thread".

Speaking of stories . . . I agree that the Upgrade Heroes story should have been built in as part of the progression. It would have been cool and useful to get those cars at the beginning of the game. Now, not so much.

At any rate -- any tips for getting 3 stars on the RX-7 drift challenge? I'm not much of a drifter and can only get to around 45,000. It seems like the RX-7 lacks the torque to be a really good drifter.

My biggest issue with that was teasing the story for two months then releasing something with more recycled material than a plastic bag.

This late in the cycle, you can't do that.

If this game is going to be around 1 year longer then H3 before It gets replaced it will need another expansion or a significant map upgrade somewhere.

The games displays 21h22m left, i don't know why.

That David vs Goliath was interesting (so far). I didn’t realise how limited the vehicle choice was. Late model Transit (standard or FE) and International Scout.

Deciding B700 wasn’t too bad I went with a Scout at that level. Seeing the other cars go off into the distance wasn’t helpful.

I went to the good old standby and tuned the Scout to B601. Not quite so bad but not an easy ride. I went to the Transit (standard) and fitted a 6.2 litre V8, AWD and full aero. That significantly improved the performance over the Scout.

I completed the first race. Using my B601 Transit gave me a field of C Class opponents. It took a little while to get ahead (probably in Edinburgh) and was comfortably ahead most of the time. The Morgan got past briefly at one point towards the end, but I won by a few seconds.

I uploaded my set up under the description Super Transit.

Managed the other two races for David vs Goliath with the Transit. Comfortable wins, but some knowledge of the track is useful. It is a pity these unusual events don’t come with a list of eligible cars.

The Falcon (late model only) vs HSV was a little easier. My Rally Tyred, AWD, full Aero Falcon managed three comfortable wins!

I'm not sure how the eligible cars work. For David v Goliath I used the Transit Forza Edition, as it was the only eligible vehicle in my garage, but when I went to buy a vehicle it only came up with a Mercedes truck that I already owned strangely. Managed 2/3 wins and got me the Divo.

Since the Mercedes Race truck is the only one that starts in B-Class, it's the one the game offers you if you want to buy a vehicle in the menu prompt. I used a Mini and wiped the floor fairly easily.

I used a Sprite that I apparently put some kind of straight 6 in and forgot about. Also wiped the floor with the AI as they mostly used the overly heavy or underpowered stuff.

I used Toyota Hilux with turbo rally engine swap for David vs. Goliath championship, because I wanted to use a car that I haven't used before.

Probably should have seen this coming, but turns out 2 tonne trucks are bit too much for small rally car engine. Really struggled and flashback button got some abuse, but I managed 2 out of 3 wins.

The original engine can get a big power boost from Turbos, and because it's a Diesel, torque is plenty.

I have the majority of these vehicles (I have all but just under 90 or so cars in the game) but the Transit FE was the only eligible one I could use from my garage and the Merc racing truck was the only one available to purchase for some reason.

For a vehicle to show up as eligible, it must be upgraded to B class. I used my Hummer H1 and it danced all over the Corsa VXRs and Transit FEs.
