I think the rubberbanding has been greatly reduced.
I've had at least a dozen races where I couldn't see the closest AI car behind me, I'd say it's definitely easier to get away than it was in FH3.

That one Fast travel sign in the top left hand corner is insane.

I had to drive along the train tracks like a mad man and hope I reached it before the Flying Scotsman mashed my car into pieces.

If someone is interested on how to get the MB SL Forza Edition.

On this note, has a compiled list been made of cars that have Forza Editions in their mastery grids? I know of this and the Miura, but others were mentioned and it'd be nice to have a proper shopping list, as it were.

I've been checking the prizes, and I'm inclined to say the super wheelspin is a much better value for 150FP, than regular spins @ 40FP.
The super spins have 300, 400, and even 500k for prizes, whereas the regular spins don't go higher than 150 or 200k maximum prize.

On my first 200 wheelspins, i had this:

Wheelspins (143 spins) :
Clothing: 41
Horns:15
Emotes: 7
Credits : 37 times, for a value of 3,764,000 Cr
Cars: 43, for a value of 4,105,000 Cr
List of 43 cars: List of 43 cars on K'

Super Wheelpsins (51 spins x 3 = 153 gifts)
Clothing: 52
Horns: 18
Emotes: 19
Credits: 27 times, for a value of 4,290,000 Cr
Cars: 37, for a value of 6,800,500 Cr
List of 37 cars: List of 37 cars on K'

Taking the values of cars and credits:
Wheelspin Single : 55,028 Cr / spin
Wheelspin Triple : 217,461 Cr / spin (1 spin = 3 gifts)

I would advise against doing this, as Turn 10 and Playground likely track everything you do in-game (particularly around CR/Wheelspin accumulation) and if players are caught abusing this there may be consequences for those actions.
I remember a Rewards glitch in the early days of Forza Motorsport 7 that was pretty widespread (it involved intentionally crashing the game at a certain point in order to duplicate your Rewards), and some people getting banned for it.
My ISP had a problem a few days ago, and when i got internet back, i got a second batch of 10 Super Wheelspin when visiting that Home. It would have been easy to unplug my Ethernet cable to (try to) get that again, but i didn't want to play with fire. Furthermore, this kind of thing can ruin the game.

There are a few short roads for farms and barns beside the road.
And the road under the highway may be hidden by the display of the upper road.
The road I finally found was these two patterns.

I've driven all the roads under the motorway and fairly sure I've done most of the farm trails. I've even tried driving up footpaths to see if they count.

I've cleared all events so I can see the map clearer and still can't see any roads I've missed. Are there roads in Winter that I may have missed in the prologue?

I keep digging into car mastery but the high price cars are really hard to come.
So far we know this:
Lamborghini Miura - Lambo Reventon FE
Maserati 300S - Maserati MC12 FE
Mercedes 300 SL - Mercedes SL 65AMG FE
Nissan R390 - Nissan NISMO GT-R FE
TVR Sagaris - TVR Sagaris FE

There won't be any roads that only appear in a certain season, but the lighter colored winter map will likely make it easier to see if there are any bits of gray road left that you couldn't notice before.

Nice, thanks. Once I finally get buying Bamburgh out of the way these are next on the list.

Okay, I guess I can come to a full idea now that I played FH4 for a week.

Pros:
- The car selection as usual is top notch. It does have a lot of road cars missing from FM7, but I can do without them for now and I can always go back to FM7 to drive them. Anyway, continuing this as a positive is the continuation of FM4 car returns such as the TVR Cerbera Speed 12 and Austin Healeys. Along with that are the new vehicles included such as the mighty Mclaren Senna, the Ford Fiesta Rally Cars (I've been driving both a lot), the Ford Anglia, and of course the Peel P50 in all of its goofy nature.
- Britain of course was a fantastic map selection, I wasn't really wanting Japan unlike most people playing these games. Mainly because it would feel hallow knowing that Toyota and Mitsubishi are exempt from this game. Britain though has fantastic scenery, fun twisty roads, and Edinburgh and nice looking city.
- Graphics and Lightning look better imo than FH3, though not by much. It's hard to notice graphical improvements anymore since graphics get more and more realistic looking.
- The AI is more challenging than in previous Horizon games, highly skilled AI alone have caught me off guard. Kinda similar to what FM7's AI did.
- I love the increase on customization options including more wide-body kits for various cars in the game. Plus lift kits being an option for the offroaders in this game.
- I like that there's more challenge variety over FH3 with the inclusion of LaRacer, Stunt Driving, and Fastest Rental challenges. I also love seeing more than just 4 street races, something that I thought was underwhelming in Forza Horizon 3.
- I love the prize car system in FH4 as it reminds me of the early 2000s where I actually had to beat the games to unlock cars. I miss that.
- Barnfinds are as usual fantastic choices. I won't give examples in fear of spoiling them for players, but I can say that they're quite awesome imo.
- I can buy forzathon cars over and over again. That's a small plus as I couldn't do that in the previous installment. 👍

Cons:
- The audio is very glitchy sometimes, with some sounds lagging on every so often. Other glitches or bugs include the servers not always being stable and seeing the terrain flickr sometimes.
- Speaking of audio, some sound samples for the cars are out of place. Some V8 cars for instance sound like 4 cylinders. Not a deal breaker for me of course. Just something to point out for all of the car nuts out there that love listening to exhaust notes.
- A nitpik about the livery editor, it's a step backward in some places over FM7 such as the snap option for moving stickers no longer being an option. Along with that, the decal mirror option is not present. These were options including in FM7's late update that made livery editing more convenient.
- Other nitpik, I don't like that completing the mega races (colossus, titan, marathon, and gauntlet) requires beating the default race that they give you versus doing a blueprint race. In Fh3, I was able to complete Goliath via blueprint race; I expected the same treatment here.
- Not being able to change seasons manually outside of races is a crime imo, especially since some barnfinds are locked behind seasons.
- Prize Cars and barn finds still aren't available in showroom after unlocking them. I like being able to buy more than one so I have one modded and one stock at all times. This means I have to wait for wheelspins or use auction house if I want more than one of certain cars. That's slightly annoying.

Overall: I love this game a lot more than Forza Horizon 3, some of the cons I mentioned could get fixed in updates such as with the livery editor and sound bug. So, with that in mind; I'm absolutely thrilled with this game and I have a hard time putting it down. 👍

Don't be overwhelmed, do whatever you like. If you like street races do those, or circuit races, or off-road or cross country. You will find speed traps, speed zones, danger signs, eventually you will be able to buy houses, jobs will open, etc.
You are free to approach the game however you like, have fun there!

I got overwhelmed by the plethora of icons all over the map, so I use the map edit function and only have certain items on the map at a time - especially if I want to do only a few different kinds of races that day.

You can also have the map only show "new" events if you want.

So I rented this game instead of buying it (yes, I do that for all new games so I won't waste money on something I don't really like) and I now feel confident in a purchase. The problem is that my family also uses the console and they all have their own profiles. If I were to say, buy the ultimate edition, is there a way to share the goodies with everyone or is it locked to my account?

Yeah, the map filter is invaluable now just because of how much stuff gets clustered around certain spots.

I'm pretty sure game sharing will allow everyone who plays your copy to enjoy ultimate benefits. There's no way MS are going to charge you four times for the same package. As I understand it from other posts in this thread you can even play on a suitably equpped PC while another family member plays FH4 on your console. This is one of the huge benefits of digital purchasing.

Hi guys ive only been playing since yesterday, a question if anyone knows and who is further in than me, are we able to stop it getting dark/night time, as thats one thing i really hate in games, night time, im driving around etc and thinking its getting night time again...:banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead: I know we have the seasons, that`s fine, i just wish it was nice daylight.

thanks.

As long as your account is signed in, all the other profiles can play any games you purchase and download.

I would prefer if the seasonal championship objectives didn't revolve around Drivatar difficulty settings. The expert setting suits me well, so I'm not going to change it to unbeatable for some simple reward. Why not make the objectives a little more interesting because asking players to fiddle with difficulty settings isn't the definition of fun.

While they’re as much about fun they’re also about challangening yourself. I think it’s ok the way they’re doing it, they’re not exactly impossible. Not like those damn co-op missions at least.

I just think it's cumbersome to change the difficulty settings because some specific event encourages it. For me, game / difficulty settings are something I want to get out of the way as quickly as possible. There's no reason why Playground Games can't define objectives focusing on the actual content. It would bring more variety to the challenges, encouraging players to sample content they otherwise probably wouldn't while staying true to the preferred difficulty setting.

The expert setting in FH4 may be the most balanced difficulty setting I've ever tried in a racing game. There are no guarantees that my best efforts will always lead to a victory or even a podium, but it absolutely punishes a weak effort thanks to rubberbanding being kept to a welcome minimum. I don't want to go lower or higher, so I'd say bring on more varied seasonal objectives. This would also be a way to control difficulty because some cars aren't as competitive as others and so on.

I honestly prefer the difficulty setting over some nonsense requirement like "get 35 Show Off skills" or something. The difficulty lock requires you to actually race while the objectives, like in the FH3 expansions, focuses on everything but the race.

It should have a setting to show only events NOT completed. If that is an option I would love to know how to set it to that so I dont repeat stuff.

Or how can you tell by looking at it on the road.

When I drive up to an event it doesnt tell me if I have completed it yet or not.

When looking at the map, all events you haven't completed yet will say "new". You can also filter the map to show you only the events you haven't completed. Yes. While in the map, press the right button. A menu will come up showing you all your options. Click on "all" and all the icons will disappear. Click on "new" and only icons for evens you haven't completed will come up. Press B and the menu goes away and you can see the map again.
