I started racing in the early 90's, I don't think of those games, especially FM4, as old. Gt was an exception.
I thought you meant old school games, particularly not GT and Forza.
Although GT certainly did limit access to some cars over the years as well.
I played the first 2 GT's around two years ago, restricted or not, it also took a lot longer to acquire cars.
No, I'm only 24 years old. Games that came before Gran Turismo, I wasn't really aware of them yet. Your use of "older" confused me, sorry. I thought you were just referring to games older than now, not just old games period. I still play Gran Turismo 2 constantly, it's not really that hard for me to start winning prize cars. I guess it can take a long time with endurance races, but most cars were won quite easily.
Define worked.
I'm just talking specifically about cars you can only get once. It wouldn't affect the rest of the AH.
Prize cars you can buy in the dealerships, aren't as special, are they?
Did you ever get all golds in GT3 license tests to unlock the Toyota GT-1?
That was great. I didn't worry about having two.
I don't see how you could think otherwise, plenty of people used the auction house back in FM2-4. It was quite popular, all the more reason fans wanted it back. Once again, those games allowed you to win a car, but it was still accessible to the dearlership.
Also no, I didn't every get all golds in any GT games, which honestly made those prize cars annoying. I'm thankful for gameshark codes because of that 🤬.
I wasn't referring to auction cars, as I said already, the Mustang was locked via gameplay and could not be purchased. It's a good example, whether it's an FE or not.
In this game I think the Zenvo is locked to the worlds fastest. (And probably wheelspins)
If people can buy extras, it changes the effect on the game.
So if you like having to work through gameplay to unlock cars, being able to buy then in the AH undermines that.
Because you can buy them.
If you can buy them, you don't have to unlock them through gameplay.
I'm sorry, but I'm still disagreeing with your opinion. It's a whole load of nonsense, having a car unlocked and then available in the dealership afterwards is NOT too much to ask. You still have to work to unlock the thing, which makes the game rewarding. Yes, I understand the joy of winning that one car from the earlier Gran Turismo days during my childhood. However, I still felt as accomplished in winning them in Forza Motorsport 2-4 while still having access to them in the dealership. That feeling won't change here. All the current system does with just getting them in the auction house is make things tedious for me.

EDIT: Doing the season event with the Rally Monsters, I don't like it.
