Today i dedicated this tuesday in hunting down the remaining 14 barn finds scattered across the map. I've managed to find all of them in a span of one hour.

I've updated my tune spreadsheet to separate them in 4 distinct pages:

1) Road/Street Race Tunes
2) Dirt/Offroad Race Tunes
3) Drag Race Tunes
4) All Around Tunes (a.k.a. jack of all trades, master of none tunes)

In addition to that, 4 new tunes were added and 1 old tune got updated/replaced.

  • Ferrari F12TDF: Rear-wheel drive power build for S1 Road Race.
  • DeLorean DMC-12: AWD Drag tune with Funco F9's engine.
  • Chevrolet Chevelle SS454: Offroad tune for B-Class Dirt/Offroad Race.
  • Buick GSX: Offroad tune with Powerstroke swap for A-Class Dirt/Offroad Race.
  • Dodge Charger Daytona: A-Class Offroad/Dirt Race tune updated. Now it's a heavy car with the Viper V10 engine.

Yesterday, i've promised to host some Youtube videos showing me burning through all my Wheelspins i've been accumulating until i reached the 1st Prestige level, so here it is. Enjoy!

Problem is not copycat of FH4, but overall quality. From 3rd instalment with minor changes we could expect better quality.

1) Ai is awful.
2) Storytelling is full of cliche and makes me feeling vicarious embarrassment.
3) Eliminator is buggy and unbalanced. Like ,it was totally Ok for free update, but its current state is unacceptable for 60$ game.
4)where is ranked? It should be default mode for multiplayer
5) Map design is bad. Instead of easily readable environment in FH4 we get totally random unbreakable trees and rocks in bushes. Mountain is awful. 2/3 of the map is boring desert and fields.
6) Carlist is FH4-30%. Like, there is still few hundreds of cars that were in FH3 and FM7, but isnt in FH4, why do you use same cars again?
7) We are two weeks from early access and still dont have hot fix.

It looks like only thing that they put effort into is single player campaign. If you want something more than that its disappointing.
It's also actually quite a short game in terms of single player content. I finished all the Road Races, Street Races, Rally and Offroad races within a week - so apart from the season content and speed traps, what is there to do? The addition of the Accolades to do a Road Race with each class is a nice addition but the rewards are minimal and won't take long to complete.

You're definitely right about the environments - it's all very samey, doesn't compare to the FH3 map in Australia which had real contrast. It's a great game but is far from 10/10 and I expected better given it had an extra year of development.

Considering how Forza Horizon is set up, I actually think the solo portion of the game is far too long considering it's basically a glorified tutorial.

If you get bored after doing 1 race at each track/route racing games probably aren't for you.

That is kinda the problem with Forza Horizon and open world racing games in general, the longevity of the game often depend on what you like doing in the game. The seasonal event is mostly just chore to unlock new stuff.

I always spend tons of hours in photo mode or trying abominations builds once I complete it.

It's on my OG XBox One, too. And the Citroën logo in place of the Delorean logo.
DeLorean was correct on my One X last I checked, so maybe it only affects certain platforms?

D class Elite accolade is impossible now due to all the stupid hacked times on the leaderboards.

I reported the top five on each one under Road Racing hoping it gets someone's attention.

Just to put this out there... what's the point of Showcases? They're fully scripted, rubber-banded, borderline QTEs that you literally have to try to lose (and the AI will try really hard to stop you from losing).
They are a bit stupid and don't add anything to the game at all. Nothing but theatrics to be honest.

It's too bad there's never going to be any user generated content, new vehicles, expansions, weekly playlists for years to come, etc. /s
Not that I disagree with your point, but the weekly playlists are just recycled stuff to do but this time you get an emote. Other than just something to bait completionists into doing, it doesn't provide anything new.

It's actually one of my bigger complaints for how FH4 was handled, and all the exclusive content locked behind "do this nonsensical race for the hundredth time to get the thing" really made the game a drag at times. I'd turn on the game thinking I'd relax and run a lap or two of Goliath, only to see some car I wanted locked behind some dumb cross country series in supercars, and by the time I was done winning the thing I just kinda lost my enthusiasm for it.

I thought they had a few user-created track championships in FH4, but I don't remember it being very common, but maybe I'm just forgetting. Would be nice to see them doing that a bit more so that the weekly grind doesn't feel so uninspired.

Maybe I'm a grouch, but I'd like it if the season championships also had an option for themes. I personally don't like the wacky AWD swapped Aston Martin rally championships and so on, so it would be cool if they had crazy option for people who are into that, and then a more realistic option making better use of the lower classes that often get ignored in this series.

Fortunately we are pretty fresh into the game so it's not a problem yet, but in 6 months I can't imagine being excited about turning on the game to do yet another race around "Arch of Mulege" in S2 class Ferraris or whatever.

To make my post less bitching, my suggestion for those already running out of stuff to do: gather up some friends, and give yourself a build challenge.

Choose a random PI limit so everyone doesnt just download leaderboard tunes, and choose a random car type or theme (Retro Saloons, or muscle vs JDM, or maximum car price, etc), and maybe some limitations if you want (like no AWD swaps, must keep factory engine, etc). Take 10mins for everyone to build a car, then race them and/or do challenges like drift zones or jumps or whatever.

Assuming you don't have the most boring friends, it's fun to see what people come up with and it has this kinda Top Gear challenge feeling to it where you wait to see who shows up in what and make fun of each other's choices. It can also help you find interesting vehicles, and it can be pretty interesting to see the performance differences between cars/builds.

If you get bored after doing 1 race at each track/route racing games probably aren't for you.
I'm sort of at the same point he is and I'm someone who still enjoys going back to FM7 to just hot lap. I think all I have left are the "Story" missions as I've completed the main 4 areas & the Showcases. The speed traps, drift zones, etc. don't interest me enough to start going for them like previous titles. Thus, I've kind of reduced my time in the game so far, to avoid a burn out.

DeLorean also has the correct icon on my XSX (no Citroën).

I did D class elite yesterday on a street race, used the one that’s near the hotel area (a street race that does a section of the emerald circuit) on the west coast in a D500 tuned Porsche 914/6. Messed up quite a lot during the race but got top 5% first try anyway.

That was after trying many road races before (both point to point and circuit) where I could barely make top 10% most of the time.

I managed to complete all the 5% Rivals challenges last night using one of the shortest Street Racing layouts, can't remember the name but it is located just north of the festival outpost:
Untitled.png

All six classes done on the first attempt except 'D' (because I first tried it in a stock Mini, a terrible idea). All I did was find which car that I owned in each class had the highest speed figure, then auto-upgrade the car to the max level in the class.

My runs were very cautious to make sure I had a clean run and will be lucky to be in the top 50% once more players try to complete these challenges. This is definitely a good time to be completing these accolades.

My first week round up.

Finally reached Hall of Fame and can now focus on other activities that don't include racing agains AI so much - danger signs, speed/drift zones, story missions and unlocking some cars in the weekly playlists. Won my first Eliminator without seeing a single person, which was kinda anticlimactic.

Had some fun in the trial where after first two races the score was 1-1 and we had to win the last race. Helped a fellow driver by blocking two bots so he can pass them, gaining our team points we were missing to get the win. In my attempt to help him almost got overtaken by the bots myself in the last turn:lol::eek:

The world is stunning, I really enjoy the northern part of the map and the roads which lead to the Volcano. The scale and the views are breathtaking.

The music is hit and miss, with more emphasis on the hit.

Overall the game unfortunately doesn't feel complete with constant network issues, traffic missing and Forzathon shop still not working. I'll probably get enough points for the AMG One in the upcoming playlist and wait till things improve a little bit. Still, the game is beautiful and I'm sure I'll be coming back to the festival a lot!

Anyone having issues with wheels in this game? I'm having ffb just randomly go out, controller disconnected errors and worse of all my wheel will just go nuts at times and spin out at the slightest touch. All on a T300rs. A restart usually fixes the problems but it is a royal pain.

I'll have to try both of these tonight. Thanks for the tips. The first few road racing events are full of cheaters and impossible times, I reported several last night.

They talked about using the Playlist to highlight community EventLab creations this time around. I think @Northstar's comment applies here though. If racing a circuit you've already tried with a different car is recycling, then why play racing games?

What a joke... Where is Forza?! So this game is a popular and critical success, I just can't understand.

The better question is, where the "M$ paid them to get Forza to win" crowd at? You know, those much of randos that came inside here making a big fuss about FH5 winning "BEST SHOWING AT E3"? Yeah that crowd. They seem awfully quiet, especially after FH5 won "BEST SHOWING AT E3." Love how they ain't giving a damn about neither of those games that got nominated for Game Awards doe. It's a crime if anything Forza wins occurs on the internet..

Can't wait till next year when games like Casino Drive Unlimited, Gran Nostalgia 7, Born For Snooze 2022 comes out. THAN we'll see if they will give a damn then, mark my words.

Not the cleanest run though, could probably go another 1-2 seconds quicker at least.

I think that's my last rivals update, these leaderboard cars are lame as hell
Yeah it's always much, much more satisfying using something that isn't just the most overpowered vehicle for the course. It's too easy that way and I get no sense of accomplishment from it.

@Sutuki I popped your Bajio Trail time and accidentally put myself like, right near the top of the leaderboard.View attachment 1094297

My time's going to get absolutely flattened by the time everyone dives into rivals, but a little achievement like this is something!
I did a 2:54 time there last night in the Renault 4 Barn Find :D

I want all the Barn Find cars to be "good" or else they'll gather dust in my garage since I can't sell them.

Had a crash last night after a 4h session and now when i want to update the game it starts to download the whole game while its still in my SSD and i cannot open the game anymore it says install the game to play 😑.
