Wouldn't mind an early (i.e. no wings, flares, etc.) Countach and an Urraco either...

These are high up on my new-to-Forza '70s Italian sports cars wishlist after the huge range of Maseratis from back then. The fat-free Countach is maybe my favorite version despite my personally growing up in the big-winged fender-arch '80s.

Liveries!

I've made loads of them (up to #77) now. It's been a while since I shared some so I'll only post 5 as dropping 15 would be too spammy.

PJTierney is my gamertag so all easy to find.

Great work! Should be moved to or reposted in the "share your creations" thread

They fixed the Forzathon Shop and made everyone sad in the process. 😂
But that Secret Santa bar is progressing quite fast. Do they plan to release the P50 on New Years eve?
I guess their goal is that we at least get the Peel before the end of series 2. 😅 But yeah, it would be nice around NY. 😊

I haven’t attempted the trial yet, but if it involves racing the AI again on off-road terrain with tarmac sports cars, I’ll pass like last week. The Championship race that I believe was for the Hoonigan Escort (that I already had) was enough “race the AI on dirt” for me this series. I absolutely detest racing the preset difficulty AI off road, esp. at the dirt track on the west side by the volcano.

Even using a tune from one of the popular guys on Reddit for an Escort, I had to bully a bit to win.
I had a few problems with that particular race too, the AI seemed to be able to take the corners at insane speeds while still being able to go faster than me on the straights. The main issue was with the Holden Panel Vans.

The Panel Vans had the speed, but braked a lot for me. It was the dame Skyline that raced on rails I had a hard time getting near. Which was annoying because the tune I got said I didn't have to brake much and could take the turns much easier, which, was true, but when the AI has a car that can do the same, my advantage is pretty much zeroed.

Yeah, the AI in FH5 basically chooses a car that matches the player car's specs to some extent, allowing you to win as long as you don't intentionally make extreme upgrades.
However, on some courses the AI seems to be unbalanced, making it significantly harder or impossible to win with cars that can easily beat the AI on other courses.

And apparently, the Baja Scramble Circuit is most likely the circuit where this trend is strongest.
What we need to beat them on this track is overwhelming grip and acceleration performance on the gravel.
To borrow from what others have posted on the official forums, the easiest option to beat them on this course is a 4x4 with stock tires like Bronco, Jimmy, Scout, etc. that are the equivalent of off-road tires.
These cars don't need AWD conversions and tire upgrades, and are basically heavier, so they save a lot of PI.
Swap a high power engine into these vehicles and use the remaining PI to improve the handling.
Then lower the center of gravity by lowering the ride height with suspension settings, and they are no longer our enemy.
We will be able to beat them easily while maintaining our overwhelming lead.

That's good advice until you need to use a specific car for the event ;)

IIRC, you could swap engines in hybrids and some cars have hybrid engine swaps. At least 918 engine to 959
I do have FH4 though. When I find time, I’ll see if EV swaps can be done in that game.

With so many retromod/EV swaps today, should be available in FH5.

I’d be guessing that in the case of a pure EV like the Taycan I doubt Porsche would allow a ICE engine to be swapped into it. It flies in the face of the car’s main selling point so the licensing would not allow such a thing. The other way - EV into a a non EV? I could see that being easier to get a manufacturer to sign off on but every company is different. That’s the trade off of having licenced cars in the game as the manufacturer does dictate what can and can’t be done to their vehicles (as is their right).

The answer is simpler than that - on a technical level in the game, engines and electric motors are different upgrade categories, and cars only have one or the other available. Installing an engine in an electric car might work, but to uninstall the game would have to be able to handle installing 'no engine' rather than a specific part. There hasn't been a significant overhaul of the upgrading and tuning since FM2, so electric motors were kind of bodged on top for FM4 and are still that way now.

This is also why no hybrid cars can have their electric motors upgraded - as far as the game is concerned, they don't have electric motors, there's just a torque boost applied to their engine torque curve.

Just out of interest has the Ferrari 458 Forzathon Weekly worked for everyone else as it's still not working for me?

If so I'm wondering if it's just a personal glitch, due to me not doing the 2nd race on the final challenge when I first attempted it, before it reset after I closed the game down, before I had the chance to do it.

For me it worked just fine, im on pc so maybe there its different.

Might just be me. I had a 458 I bought, tried buying a 2nd and gift dropped the original to see if it would register but it doesn't even register the first challenge now despite working beforehand.

My trial luck turned around greatly. First time trying it, we won. 2 guys bailed after the 1st race even though we won, & then I and the guy who carried the 1st race clinched 2nd & 3rd to give us the overall win.

I used the DMC-12 with this tune: 820 226 821. Great acceleration & handling, this can make work of all the AI besides the 1 that runs off into the distance.

Can someone please tell me why my cars when doing stories are worse than my friends/players online?

Its like that on all stories...

Did my first Horizon Open today. A Class Super Saloons was a cakewalk in my M5 '18. Now I'm sitting at 60 points for Winter. Hope that's enough to get the Aventador in Spring.

OK, I'm losing my mind: is it possible to tune the Desert Dingo VW so that it doesn't roll over at the slightest provocation? Even in D class with full suspension upgrades and offroad tires I'm doing barrel rolls if I turn just a little too sharply, like I'm tooling around in a supercharged A-class Reliant Supervan or something. I'd prefer to get clued in on what settings I need to tweak in tuning than to go to the marketplace (where there's only a couple reasonable-appearing lower-class tunes, and even then I'm skeptical).

Don't forget when you connect your controller to go into your background settings. There should be a special 20th anniversary dynamic background waiting for you. 👍
No way!? Never knew there was such a thing! I'll be sure to check it out the next time I go back on. Thank you so much for the notice! :D👍

Hmm, took mine for a spin. Check it out: 158 191 647

Brocky the "Bronco" is one of the most marvelous additions to this franchise. It just makes minced meat of any Cross-Country race, and I absolutely love it.

I am so glad that FH managed to pluck the Brocky from the obscurity that was PCARS 2's Fun Pack. I still shake my head wondering why SMS added that in when it had nowhere to really run and be actually good in.

Should anyone feel the need for it, I've shared a tune for the 1973 Range Rover (share code 105 308 337) that is bonkers fast and will utterly destroy everything the AI will throw at you. I won the first two races by around 20 seconds, missed a checkpoint on the 3rd one and still managed to win.

As regular users of this forum probably already know, Artstation sometimes reveals unknown information about various games.
I browsed this website for the first time in a long time in search of it.
Unfortunately, there was no new information about the car at all. However, I did find some interesting information that I'd like to share.

The parachute used in the prologue was designed using Bowler.

3D model and concept art of the festival float. There were also design ideas for floats based on different themes, such as King Kong and Cadillac Ranch.

Weird car inclusions are often due to the manufacturers requiring the developers to include a particular model that they're currently promoting in exchange for licenses that the developers actually want. Lower-budget games are especially susceptible to this as they have a greater need to make deals in order to afford a variety of licenses.
