Since my parents are a bit ill, I thought I'd try out the Play Anywhere feature on my PC (my game room [which is actually the guest room] is next to their room, so I didn't want to bother them). Surprisingly, it works well minus the occasional screen tear. It is still in beta, so I'll forgive them for that.

Discord gave me a 3 months free Gamepass voucher, so I think I'll be hopping on to this game again.

I'm very late to discussion on this but I'm honestly very pleased with how much the FWD physics have improved in this game. They finally feel more viable and fun to drive, does cars like the Puma and 205 Rallye justice.

Edit: Just got the confirmation that is still working. As long as the countdown for Arcade is shown on the screen every star obtained will count. Just make sure you are not doing it during those areas sessions. I believe you will still get kicked out of Arcade if you stay out of the area for too long. You won't get kicked out when non area activity is on.
I tried this out earlier, and it works great in Drift sessions. There's one zonal challenge (score drift skills in the skill zone), but none of the others have any geographical requirements - even the one with a specific drift zone just route you to it without consequence - so you could just spend ten minutes chaining Trailblazers. Which I'll do later.

Well bad news for convertibles...

Why can't they just have it like the Gallardo or 918 where it fades?
Since those models are older, it is very likely that they did not make models with the roof open/closed.

Now, another sad news.
In the weekly challenge that starts today, one of the challenges is to drive 100 miles in a Bentley.
Many people suspected this was a typo, but moderator ManteoMax has revealed that this is not a typo.

...Yes, we have to pay 4 million cr and drive 100 miles in a 1930's classic Bentley, for only 5 points.

I was bored of driving 20 miles last week, a 100 miles sounds like a mockery from the devs, and not the first one at that. Probably won't do this, my only remaining achievement (min meet max) isn't worth it.

I'm still playing it everyday but I'm trying to do other stuff too beside this game. Definitely not putting as much hours as in the first month. But than I'm already over 500h into FH5. Taking it slowly now is a must to avoid getting burned out. FH6 is still far and while I have hope for other racing games that are coming I doubt they could replace FH for me.
I checked the hours played stats among my Xbox friends and you was on top with a huge lead:lol: I am at around 125 or 150 hours myself, but for now it feels like I only scratched the surface. I didn't tuned all the cars I wanted to tune, didn't touch all the cool blueprints I found here, on twitter and on reddit, didn't play enough of Eliminator and Horizon Tour, didn't make any photos with ray-tracing in Forza Vista... And then there are accolades. It looks like the first DLC is not too far, but I still has so much to do in the main game.

As for other games, I'm really interested in what the next Forza Motorsport will bring to the table. Gran Turismo 7 should be great, too, but it looks just like an evolution of GTS. Among these titles, FH5 will remain a great chill game where I can just take a great looking car and drive it around without worrying about lap times.

Killing the game with stupid design decisions. 100 miles? In a map that's relatively small and largely bland? Whelp.

As for the convertible roof issue, just more proof that they don't really care for quality, but bullet point figures. It would offer better value for money if we didn't continually see Xbox and 360 era cars return just to pad the car list.

It's up there with FM7 for highlighting how their schedule of development has met a dead end.

While 100m challenge is totally stupid, I don't think 360 era cars are all that bad. Most of them are pretty unique and there is little to no chances that they would remodel them.

GTS quality of modelling is good, but I, personally prefer quantity and diversity.

My main concern is that series in stagnation. They clearly don't know what to do with franchise next.

Most of us have probably driven 100 miles without even thinking about or realizing it. This challenge only seems like a chore because you have to be conscious of it now.

The convertibles they aren't fixing are older models with hard tops and would most likely need to be redone to get the animations correct. It's not necessarily a quality issue, but rather a time and resource issue. Yes, these models could have been redone, but they've also been developing a full game during a pandemic and were probably on a timeline from Microsoft.

The same goes for the 360 models and to be fair a lot of the 360 and Xbox models haven't been seen since and they really aren't that bad. I don't see it as padding the car list, I see it as having some fan favorites still in the game. If you want padding the car list, go point fingers at PD with GT and it's 300 models of Skyline, yes, I know I'm exaggerating a bit, but you get the point.

If the development schedule had met a dead end, then we wouldn't be getting expansions for the game. We should wait for those before making a snap judgement about the development schedule.

I agree with you on your other opinions, but disagree with you on this one.

It is true that we may be driving 100 miles without being aware of it.
But we must remember that this is on the condition that there is no time limit and that we can use any car we want.

This challenge has a time limit of one week and forces you to use a 1930's Bentley, a niche car with performance issues.
To add to that, due to a bug in the playlist we must finish all the weekly challenges in one play.
So in other words, we need to play for at least about an hour for this weekly challenge, including the other challenges in one play.
I don't think this is going to be fun.

An hour really isn't that much in the grand scheme of things. Most of us play that long to complete various playlist activities. Yes, I agree this is tedious for just 5 points towards the playlist, but it also awards Forzathon points and in most situations you'd be playing an hour for those with Horizon Arcade events.

Yes, I realize those are also always active and don't have a car requirement either, but if your argument is the amount of time that is involved than my argument stands.

If it is too much time for you to devote to it then don't do the weekly and be done with it. It isn't like it's a requirement to get the exclusive car since it can be done easily without doing the weekly Forzathon.

It is clear that the challenge isn't changing, for what reason we don't and will probably never know, so it's a mute point. We either deal with it and do the requirements or we don't and miss out on the 5 points, which really don't make a difference since there are plenty of other activities to award the car.

Make a blueprint race with the highway and make the lap count go over 100 miles. Earn credits and the 5 pts. What I’ve done with long distance driving requirements.

Tomorrow's daily is to complete a Playlist activity. Leave one for tomorrow.
Drive on the Highway and smash the guard rail until it pops up.

If you don't, completing Saturday's Daily Challenge (or any following day's) will complete it.

Can almost guarantee that's a licensing thing, manufacturers not letting those particular cars be driven around Mexico without head protection.

Some car manufacturers are stricter than others or have particular requests when it comes to having their cars represented in games.
