For anyone struggling on this week's speedtrap in Hot Wheels world then use this tune. You'll nail it first go with a good run up from the north.

So today I've decided to hook up the G923 wheel and do as many offline events with it as I could.

What followed was me doing the Taycan Forzathon, the Danger Sign, the Speed Trap, all three of the championships, and the EventLab track (which was very pleasant, all things considered, almost F1 track-like)... 100% with wheel. (I left out the online events because... yeahhh no thanks...)

Even though the AI in these championships is set to Highly Skilled instead of my usual Pro, I have no shame in admitting that this was some of the most intense and sweat-inducing racing I've done on Forza in quite some time. I am slower with the wheel and pedals, but the fun of it all more than made up for it. That said, my hands and my arms are sore. This stuff is a workout for me!...

One thing I did have problems with was getting a clean lap on Canyon Drop Rivals for the Accolade. The second jump kept throwing me into the wall like this when I hit the right inclined section of track.
I had a weird issue where restarting a Rivals event wouldn't flag the reattempt as a clean run/lap no matter what. Only solution I found was to keep exiting and restarting that way. Took a while to find a solution which resulted in getting all the clean times a lot longer than it should. This line wasn't about Horizon 5, but someone online summed it up; how can a game be so well made yet so broken at the same time?

I did it in a stock Porsche Taycan S “welcome pack”. That car has been way, WAY OP for anything Hot Wheels related in its class.

Talking about Hot Wheels, I finished the main story thing and have a couple of the challenges left. But I felt a bit underwhelmed compared to the FH3 Hot Wheels. Sure the visuals are better but none of the races or locations felt really rememberable to me. In FH3 HW I still have clear visions of some spectacular sights like the urban area, the long spiral up or down, the shipwreck area, the steep climb on the center mountain. In FH5 HW the waterfalls in the ”Avatar forest area” look nice but that’s it.

Did anyone else enjoy FH3 HW more than FH5 HW?

Agree on the Taycan (both WP and the std one with 4 gears) being too good in HW.

Apart from the short length (FH5 HW still felt slightly longer than FH3 HW), i felt FH5 version had more extreme pieces (the one section with the drop into the volcano is my fav) with better biomes and cars. FH5 also seems to have improved flow between sections and the tracks seem wider too, which is a godsend. The different track types still feel underutilized (hope they are added to the event lab props though). I did love the point to point challenges. it was great fun with friends.

Overall it feels like an evolution of the FH3 hot wheels, just like the entire FH series up-to this point, but is the best expansion, just like FH5 is the best FH so far IMO.

I never though of using the Taycan WP car for the speed trap. I've just used it stock and did it first time easy, great tip thank you.

As for a difference between HW in FH3 and FH5 I think they're both pretty similar as far as I'm concerned. I've never overly gone overboard for this type of DLC, I prefer the location land based ones. I think both were well done. FH3 version does feel bigger as FH5 HW is I think a lot more compressed as a map (more track overlapping etc) but this isn't a bad thing. I do agree with @breyzipp though FH5 map is missing a truly memorable location on it.

Overall though, bar the bugged Mission Accomplished achievement, I've enjoyed both maps equally. The broken achievement has annoyed me as it's currently ruined my 100% record on the game, and worse it's only happening to certain players 😤😤😤

UPDATE: Just recently, Donut Media reuploaded the most recent Past Gas episode and redid the Forza Horizon Donut DLC announcement. It's coming in Q4 (October - December) of 2022. New announcement is at 52:02.

I bet the devs got on their ass quick.

I suspect it was fairly obvious to anyone familiar with the game that it wasn't gonna be an entire DLC. Which is a shame because I was looking forward to drifting around Mexico with the likes of AR12 and Slap Train in the future (j/k).

Interesting because I was going to say, assuming next month was the Donut Media story taking the bulk of the “new” cars, what everyone thought would be backported - like the Porsches during this season. Now it’s a wide open month! Honestly, feeling that the Extreme E month was planned not to take the thunder away from the Hot Wheels DLC, I’m actually excited to see what next update brings. Crosses fingers as forza monthly announces they’re bringing each of the lego cars back

anyone know how to remove the eventlab events that are scattered across the map?
If you mean how to remove them from your map then press RB with your map open. This will remove everything from your map and you can then choose to display what you want.

The two drivers listed on the side of the JBXE team car don't even drive for the team anymore and this isn't some Extreme E last minute seat-swap business, lmao
I think McLaren have already changed up their livery as well, although I prefer the one in FH5 to the new one.

I mean how to remove them as you drive around. On some of them the gamer profile pics are kinda offensive for my kids.

There is no way to do it bud unfortunately. All you can do is screenshot the profile pic and report it.

Playing offline is the only other option but not a very good one admittedly.

View attachment 1181791Weirdly, both Forza Monthly and Let's Go streams are on Thursday instead of Monday. And they seem to be making a big deal about "Rami's Racing History".

Seems like the 300 SLR is coming, if I'm not wrong.
300SLR's correct. So, they decided to focus on Historic Racing cars next update. I'm excited. Hopefully, the #146 Matra-Simca MS650 that was leaked way back in FH4 would come this coming update.

Why does Rami look like Ryu on holiday in Mexico in the pic?

Half expecting PG Games to add "Adouken" for every successful clean pass in the next update.

Because he's a street-race fighter. I bet Papa Fernando wouldn't recognise that pic.

Just wanted to say that I love hearing about drivers who have switched to a wheel and pedals in Forza. Most who have tried the switch report they are initially slower. But, the fun factor and immersion of using that wheel and pedals will ultimately lead to very competitive times. One hint: No matter which wheel you have chosen, turn the force feedback down some and then gradually bring it back up. Find the sweet spot where the force feedback gives you the cues you need to control the car without rapidly turning you into the Hulk.
