I miss that Quadra, I really enjoyed that car

Oh, so did I. On that note, I've made a tooooon of FH4 photos, long before I joined GTPlanet, and the ones I took of the Quadra are some of my favorites.

It wasn't just fun to drive, it was incredibly photogenic too. Really wish it made a comeback, as unlikely as it is.

A fantasy car pack that includes the Quadra, Regalia, and the Chryslus that never made it to Horizon would suit me fine.

Looks like the Barbie cars were another victim of the UK English localisation find-and-replace abuser... or at least partially. Maybe Barbie fought him off in time.

Given both are in there, I am more inclined to think that either GMC/Hummer wanted “Film” in the car name and Chevrolet wanted “Movie”. This seems more to me like an obligation to one or both OEMs than it does somebody simply “forgetting” that they called one of them different to the other.

Another theory is that the Corvette is in the movie, so Mattel would want “Movie” in the name, but the Hummer (presumably) isn’t so it’s technically not a movie car.

Just for you all, I checked all the Barbie teasers and trailers to see if I could spot the Hummer, but didn't see it even once. So that's in my browser history now, thanks.

But...

I'm so glad they did the odd collaboation. And that so many people hate Barbie.

Because I finally got a lot of Hummer EV. ...of Barbie editions.
I guess you could say:

Speaking of collab, this one is a fun one because it's a oddball. Again, not a fan of barbie, but I've gladly took the cars under my wing. I've still yet to decide what I will do with Ken's Hummer, since I have two in my garage already. :P

As far as I'm aware it's titled 'Barbie The Movie' in the UK too, so GMC theoretically dictating that the movie title is changed for their placement would be weirder than most manufacturer nonsense surely?

With the amount of bizarre UK-specific errors in this update such as 'Donut' (Media) becoming 'Doughnut' in certain places but not throughout, it just feels like a simple mistake to me. Someone's tried some sort of 'localisation' find-and-replace or something equally daft on the stuff they're working on, and nobody's caught it before shipping, in what is to be fair a more niche localisation.

Apparently Windows 11 itself has recently had context-ignoring localisation issues too, with compressed zip files being referred to as 'postcode files', so hopefully it's not someone higher up in MS trying to cut costs on localisation by cutting corners.

In Spain the Hummer Pick Up is translated to Hummer Camioneta.
In FH5 is corrected but in FH4 Italdesing appears as Diseño Italiano.

I actually don't find Barbie to be such a weird Collab. Cars have always been tied to the dolls, meanwhile we got a car from Fallout, which is a game where there are no working cars.

Maybe I should try selling the Ken Hummer. I've never gotten the sell (nor buy) for 20 million trophy. But then they'll probably use it in one of the weekly/daily events. The recent Hummer event was the first time I used mine.

I tried auctioning my Ken car but the most it'd let me sell it for is around 344,000. Maybe the 20m limit is for creatives only. Putting it back into the toybox for now.

The most I’ve managed to sell a car for was the recent Wuling Sunshine (a duplicate for me). I got 10 million credits for it as a non-creative,

Yes and no.

I'm a high level painter and can list some cars for 20 million, but I think something may have changed recently that limits what you can charge for designs.

Back when I was flipping Ford Lightnings all I did was paint the car in a custom colour and it let me list them for 20 million. If I do that now then the sale price is about 350k like yours.

Maybe if I put some vinyl groups on it it'll classify it as a "truly custom" design and unlock that 20 million price for me.

Not that I'm wanting for credits anyway, I have 930 million at the moment and I only drive about 20 cars.

I'm only mildly interested in scalping someone I mean making some lucky driver's automotive dream come true so I can get this "sell for 20m" achievement folks are talking about, but I guess it's closed to me now.

I wouldn't mind if they finally got rid of that feature or nerfed it, fewer low effort designs spammed on new cars in hopes of becoming a legend painter. Quite a few that abused that in both FH4 and FH5.

Off topic, but anybody remember when you could leave your paints unlocked?

I do and it really became an issue because people's work was being stolen and advertised as someone else's. The current system is much better for painters.

Pun intended?

Pun intended?
I intended it as more of a themed metaphor. It's a garage, not a toybox.

Now, if we were talking about using clothing items to doll up our player character (or missing out on playlist events meaning that I was a skipper), then that would be a pun.

At least I’m a legit “legendary painter” 🙂

Open source UGC is a relic of the Xbox 360 generation unfortunately.

I've heard that to drive the Barbie Corvette quickly all you need to do is put the pedal to the Mattel (I'm here all week with puns of this quality).
We're running out of plastic people puns and need to come up with some more.

Perhaps we ought to put our heads together and form a Sindy-cate.
