I'm surprised that they have split Quality and Performance again when the H4 update was a single mode for Series X.

Will choose Quality though, I don't really care about higher FPS or not.

I will go with 30 FPS quality mode as well, and my 65” 4K HDR TV in movie mode. It‘s the least responsive combination but it will look the best. That TV movie mode processing power is amazing, you don’t see any flicker because of it and it’s very easy for the eyes. Also when you pan the camera around fast the picture still looks amazing.

I will probably switch to the game in performance mode and my TV in gaming mode (= fastest response time combination) to 3-star the most difficult drift zones (I suck at drifting).

Yeah the quality mode sounds like it’s where it’s at for the visual spectacle. Happy to hear that the Series S is virtually indistinguishable save for the resolution so that’s music to my ears and now really hyped to get playing.

Just purchased the Ultimate add on for GamePass, well worth it for how much I’ll be playing.

Debating whether I should go ahead and install the game on my Series X even though I still plan to do most of my play on PC.

I could just connect the big TV to my PC, but my Monitor is 144Hz G-sync display so I can push even higher then 60 FPS with the right graphical settings.

No preview footage of FH5 I'm the old gen consoles has been published (that I'm aware of). Is this somewhat concerning? I will play at 4K/30 fps in the One X, and 1080/60 in the Series' S.

Most likely, its performance mode 4k visuals with 30 fps for One X.

Should also be mentioned that Forza Tech is highly scalable to just about everything rendered on screen so resolution does not tell the full story.

Every version we know about so far also uses 4x MSAA which is pretty impressive.

It’ll like look like FH4 I reckon with a bit more fidelity in the scenery.

They do carry over, was mentioned in the Let’s Go! episode where they go outside to the parking lot to show the DeLorean. Just when they come outside they say that FH4 FP can be spend in FH5.

If you watch the video @drouid2 linked, basically he made the same claim you are making in a video. Then someone from PG reached out to him, saying that isn't the case. FP points don't carry over and they were sorry for the confusion.

It honestly would make no sense for them to carry over. Though I feel bad for the people who have been grinding FH4 Forzathons cause of this only for it to not be the case

Carrying over Forzathon points is too much. Forza has a bad enough time with economy without people getting a crap ton of Forzathon points from the start.

Yeah I saw the video but seriously, I don’t get how I should interprete what Tommy Bargains said in any other way.

Either way it doesn’t matter much, and though I grinded FH4 FP a little bit for this, its indeed better they don’t convert. Wouldn’t be fair for new players. I’m also glad they got rid of the loyalty system and the retail preorder bonuses. Cars are super easy to get anyway.

I'm going to kick the game off in 4k30 and change to 60fps as soon as they give me an option to save and restart, probably after my first house.

Hoki Hoshi tested a bunch of tyres in this five-day-old vid and has concluded that FH5 cars are overall grippier.

I'd say that's very much a positive if so, since there were a lot of non-offroading cars in FH4 that just weren't very usable because they couldn't hold the road well, no matter what you did with them upgrade or tuning-wise.

By my count we are at 530, but I'm assuming we'll be getting the official car list very very soon if the game has gone gold.

It does not look promising for Alfa, Lancia & Fiat, though I would have thought PG would have made a statement by now if they were missing.
I was always pretty certain my 528 total amount of cars in the preview build was spot on. Decided I wanted to see what your 530 was and I found your error. The Morgan 3 Wheeler is counted as 3 cars under Morgan in the thread first post. So that list is 528 cars as well. ☺️

So the 538 total amount of cars from the gone gold version of Lets Go episode 10 isn’t just 530 + 8 new Formula Drift cars. There are 2 more cars missing. Or perhaps we do get to keep the lorry and bone shaker monster truck anyway because those were really odd to be in the Horizon Promo list, that is normally only player cars and traffic cars, not event cars.
