Anyone found out if there's cars hidden through the skill point trees like in FH4?
There is an accolade for unlocking a car from the tree of another car, so they exist.
When you got your Loyalty Rewards pop-up, did it just list the Senna, or all the ones you should have gotten? If it only listed the Senna, could you confirm that it's not just a display issue and your garage doesn't have the other cars in it?
There were two popups: the first pop-up from when I first started the game just listed and gave me the Senna. The second pop-up appeared after I closed and restarted the game and it listed and gave me the remaining cars except for the P1.

I bought the Shelby Daytona coupe with my voucher. That's 30,000,000 credits I won't have to grind for.

I screwed up all three of the adventures I've done so far by accidentally leaving the area before completing the tasks. I've redone two of them so far. The adventures are actually pretty fun.

So I’m doing this week’s Festival Playlist and apparently you don’t need to win the Playground Games to mark it off as complete. Lost 0-3 (uneven teams, so we didn’t stand a chance) games but it still counted and I got the Porsche Macan.

any1 found a car or cars that has a higher credit reward in the car mastery then the cars value yet? i know in fh4 we had a couple like that. such as the 1983 911 turbo 3.3 and the 1969 nissan fairlady z

So all you people waiting for Tuesday, how are you holding up?
Operation Motherland dropped for Ghost Breakpoint this past week so that’ll keep me occupied til Tuesday. I’ve got friends in hospital seriously ill with COVID so that puts things into perspective for me personally. Waiting a couple more days to play this is nothing in comparison. :)

Enjoy everyone!

I found two cars in mastery.
A 1970 Dodge Charger Daytona from a Dodge Charger R/T mastery.
And a DeBerti Jeep from a Jeep Wrangler mastery.
Also, according to a friend of mine, you can unlock the Mazda RX-7 FC by completing Super7 three times, and you can unlock the Hoonigan Mazda RX-7 Twerkstallion as a mastery prize for this car.

...Yeah, great design to force people to play the unloved mode and flood them with tons of "Easy Win" style challenges.

Anyone else find themselves short shifting the engine and just drive slow?
I might have done that a couple of times with the Escort Hoonigan they give you. Can't say the same for other cars I've tried so far.

Welp, I finally started playing the thing and yup; it's fun as a Horizon game should be. Time will tell if it has fun factor in the long run for me.

I got all of my loyalty rewards at the start and removed them from the garage. This also marks the first Forza game I'm playing on a computer, but I don't expect this to last. I plan on playing this on console once I save up for a Series X (whenever those actually show up online). I'm happy to say that my new gaming computer can run this game well at...1080p. I don't know what it's like at 4k yet, because I have a 1080p monitor.

I like the rain effects for this installment, they make for great pictures.

I found the 2nd Barn find. It gives you the option to "leave a gift". So I chose YES, I ended up gifting a 2020 Chevy Corvette. ( I had 2 of them, they looked exactly the same, but had different P points, 809 to 834 (I dont know why) so I gifted the lower of the 2). My choice was for "Returning Players". So if anyone wants to see, it's in the barn up near the Volcano caldera.

With multiple outlets calling the game a masterpiece and rating it 10/10 there is no chance that Microsoft will sign off on changing the formula any time soon. This franchise is a massive cash cow and console seller - whatever creative freedom PG might have had back during FH1 development is probably gone. They are going to keep stamping out copies of the tried & trued FH formula for probably the next decade, complete with FM1-era assets and spinning cube maps on the dials. We'll undoubtedly get continued evolutionary updates (like ray tracing) in some capacity, but the fundamentals are not gonna change.
Do we really need those "fundamental" changes?

Beating my backlog - Bad Company 1 and Ori and Blind Forest.

Various engine swap options have been added to the FH5.
However, I would have to say that my favorite of them all is the 6.7 Diesel V8T.
Until I played FH5, I thought this engine was just a bizarre swap option.
However, this engine has solid performance and is fully capable of being used in both tarmac and gravel builds for racing.

I could never have imagined that a 79 Camaro Z28 with a diesel engine swap would become my favorite track toy!
If you haven't already, give this engine a try and you'll be hooked on its monster torque.

In the Weekly Forzathon, I'm driving the 2003 Nissan 350Z, Step 1. But the 2nd one says earn 9 stars in Drift Zones. I drove all over, I can't find any? I did a Forzathon thing and me and another user failed to come up with the points in Drift Zone. But I can't for the life of me find it again. Does anyone know where there is a drift zone. None show up in my map search.

I'm going to guess that drift zones only come up once the Drifting Outpost or whatever they call it has been established.

Unlock the PR stunt outpost (Horizon Rush? I forget the name).
Then the drift zone will appear on the map.

Some folks have mentioned the changes to the handling model, and it really is noticeable how different it is from the previous game. It's especially so with the really high powered vehicles, unlike FH4 you can actually use suspension tuning to bring the 700+ horsepower cars in line and make them usable. I reckon the cars having more overall grip is helping a lot with it too. That's pretty significant, since it means a lot of cars are no longer functionally useless outside of a straight line.

I will give more of my thoughts tomorrow, but I wanted to just mention how dang gorgeous this game is. Horizon has always been pretty, but this game is on another level. I was driving around the Horizon Apex area at night as soon as I unlocked it and the lighting and environment is nothing less than stunning. I just sat there in awe for about 5 minutes before I managed to move on.

Besides some of the likely PC-related snags, I'm having so much fun playing it. PG should be proud of this one. They did a very good job. I can't wait to play more tomorrow (and maybe share some more of my random thoughts if I can pull myself away from the game long enough).

I mean this from the bottom of my heart, this goddamn game feels incredible with a wheel and it's about time! The FFB no longer feels weightless. I can countersteer with confidence, which leads to countersteering with ease 8-9 times out of 10. It feels amazing and I cannot overstate that enough. I'm using a G27 and the FFB and overall feel with a wheel has felt this way since Forza Motorsport 5.

How'd I use a G27 on FM5, you ask? A CronusMax. A wholly unsupported wheel that felt exactly like every other Forza title with a wheel in my experience up until now. Let that sink in. There aren't enough positive things I can say about using a wheel and enjoying it for hours as opposed to getting fed up within minutes.

22/10, best wheel experience in a Forza title to date.
