I have one (I can't remember you need to read and see which one controls oversteer) all the way stiff and the other all the way soft.

Stiffer fronts or rears and by how much? I've already got them setup with the front stiffer than the rear.

The front should be stiffer on the anti-roll bar. The most understeer prone setup is with the front all the way to the right and the rear all the way to the left. I'm guessing not overly hard springs will help too.

Has anyone tried racing with the Red Bull Porsche Cup Car? It's impossible to drive, utterly useless.

Personally speaking, its one of my favorite cars in the game... Really any Porsche for that matter. It goes exactly where I want it to go, feels like its perfectly balanced, and goes like stink.

...How are you running it? No aids whatsoever? I'm only running it with ABS, but I've done it without a time or two, and its a helluva lot of fun to drive.

Its hard to explain how to drive a Porsche in print, as you have to "feel it" to understand it. You just can't be harsh with the drive, you have to ease in and out with the throttle and the brakes, you can't just slam the triggers and hope for the best (much like my brother does).

You may or may not be driving like my brother, who drives everything too hard, and doesn't take full use of not only the track, but what the car can do. His lack of "smoothness" is what gets him in trouble, and for the most part, what regulates him to AWD and FWD vehicles most of the time. I personally prefer MR/RR or FR cars, as I find they are the easiest to drive... But thats my personal preference.

Just thought I'd let you guys know about this guy: Xx Hook em Horns is his gamertag. Just read on ForzaCentral about some guy he scammed and how he has already scammed over 150 cars from people. If he offers you a friend request, do not accept him and if he tries to contact you, then just tell him you know who he is and what he does.

just thought i'd look out for you guys :)

What, does he say "hi i used to no u cn i hav free car pls?!" or something and you gift a car to him?

Edit: Oops...I meant to edit that first one...

I'll make use of this post anyways.

Hmm, my game seems buggy. So it prompted an update and none of my replays will play right. I did a few races and none of the replays play correctly.

I started with the Cobalt SS Supercharged. Not happy with the car or track list.

Anyone care to donate a car, anything to me :)

Sounds like you've got a scratch or something on the disc. Is there a ring getting worn into the disc?

Is it me or is the game biased towards American cars? The amount of races I've had where the one car to beat (which is really annoying - why have 3 C class, 3 B Class and 1 S Class in a race when obviously the S Class is stupidly faster then the rest?) is an American car - like a Corvette or a Saleen? And why are the simplified stats (the 6.6 etc) so out of whack? The Shelby GT500 has the same top speed (according to the game) as the Bentley Speed 8!
There are some really annoying things in this game. I'm beginning to enjoy the feel of the cars more now that I've come to accept the abundance of oversteer the cars all have. But sometimes I wonder if I'm playing the same game as everyone else.
As for that Red Bull Porsche, I don't have any trouble with any other Porsche (yet) but it strikes me that if you have a car that's hard to drive, it will always be hard to drive regardless what you try to do in the tune up. Therefore only drive good handling cars...saves a lot of messing about.

My measly 150bhp BMW oversteers on the road when you lift off, so I don't particularly see what's so unreal about tuned cars doing the same at the higher limits of a track.

What, does he say "hi i used to no u cn i hav free car pls?!" or something and you gift a car to him?
No, i'll explain what he did to the guy on ForzaCentral.

Basically, the scammer ask the guy if he wanted to trade an enzo for one of the scammer's cars. BUT he persuaded the guy to give him the enzo first before he gave his car. He then just said to him something like "Haha, you just got scammed" and left.

So watch out for him.

Just been watching a replay of my Astra touring car at Silverstone and a couple of times it looked near indistinguishable from TV footage, when the camera is panned out with the slightly blurred scenery. That really surprised me because the graphics whilst very good, don't get near that quality when actually racing.

It seems to work fine now but i have not watched too many more replay.

The full game looks no different than the demo to me. Colors are over saturated and shadow sides of cars look totally black. Cant see any detail of black cars on the New York track. I hate to adjust my TV cuz everything else i plug into it would look to bright.

It makes a nice change from it being a Japanese car, but I agree, having one hare in each race does get tedius in games.

You don't have to use thoes stays, thoes are just an average indication. To get a true figure of your cars acceleration and speed you can benchmark it in the "Tune car" area. I don't think the stats for the race cars are in any way comparable to the road cars either.

If you press the Y button on those screens it will toggle those stats and change them to real figures like the cars weight, torques and powers of horse.

Also I agree with you on the american cars thing, it doesn't help when they decide to put american versions of japanese cars in as well. See the MR2 Turbo, which is the based on the USDM car which means its a 1995 model, still using the old gen2 3sgte engine (wheras the Japanese car of the same age got the gen3 which was allot better out of the box with the ct20 turbo instead of the ol ct26 and a few other bits and bobs) and it's an ugly ass looking t-bar version. I'm just too used to all the Japanese games who always model the hardtop version which is gonna be better for track racing due to the extra rigidity a hardtop gives over the t-bars.

Also i've noticed some cars have this funny gap that you can see right through on the rear wheel arch, all the mr2's seem to suffer from that and I think the do-luck supra does as well.

Also i've noticed the pi system is a bit unfair realy seeing as it always puts the fastest, most powerful car in first place. So if you try and go for a challenging race with a car that has low points it sticks you in last place and lets the leader with the most powerful car walk away with it.

Also, anyone got any good car ideas for the heavyweight cup in the proving grounds? I tried that CTS-V thing and its horrible for those little styled tracks and that ferrari just walks away from me. I'm thinking the RS6 might be the way to go now, bah if only this game had an M5.

I used a purpose-built, Police-Spec Dodge Charger SRT-8, that I occasionally refer to as the "Ramcharger." Its a B-class car with 500 BHP, but it will run with A-class cars without much of a problem.

I used the hefty weight and the crazy straight-line acceleration to my advantage against the V12 DB9 and 612, but it was usually pretty close racing, particularly in the last race. You're going to need to be able to handle, so it kinda depends on your preference for handling...

===

As for the whole "too many USDM cars" dilemma, I'd say they did the right thing. I was sick and tired of so many games running so many Japanese and European cars that nobody liked, or nobody knew of, so this is a good move.

But I'm uncertain why this is such a huge problem...

Most of the "good" cars are in there, be they from any part of the world. We don't need 27 versions of the Skyline and NSX, but I'm sure that the DLC will eventually include many more classic and modern Japanese and European models.

I still cant get that dodge yet, due to me only using my eagle talon like twice I guess.

Also yeah screw all those nice old 70's Japanese and european cars, nobody wants to drive a classic skyline datsun 510 or an alfa spider but lets include lots of classic american cars. Also lets not bother with most (I say most because they have some) of the cars that arent available in america because nobody drives those am i rite folks? Hurr who wants to drive a car made by cheese eating surrender monkeys? Eh we'll put four in anyway I bet only four people own an xbox360 in france anyway or they sold it for wine lol.

That was sarcasm, but I like driving slower cars and I like allot of those DURN JAPANEZE CARZ basically the game is ok for you cars wise but other people may be dissapointed especially after having the choices in gt4. Sure ok you have porsche, ferrari and lambo but not everyone wants to constantly drive supercars, I like variety and there isn't as much variety as there was in gt4 where I could go from 3 wheeled kei class cars to a group c monster. Also turn 10 replaced 70 skylines with 70 porsche cup cars so it's the same situation. Forza is more like the instant gratification version of gran turismo I guess.

OH NOSSE SOMEONE IS COMPLANING ABOUT FORZA2 ITS PERFECT IF YOU DONT LIKE IT DONT PLAY THE GAMBLAHBLAHBLAHBLAHBLAHBLAHBLAHBLAHBLAHBLAHBLAHBLAHBLAHBLAH

My brother used the RS6. It was a pig, but he got a good price for it at the auction house. I used the S4 V8 and it was pretty good, except it had a little more oversteer at high speeds than I expected. From Japan, a good choice would be the Mitsubishi GTO and America has the Acura RL something or other.

All of these cars have AWD and it really helps to launch ahead of the Ferrari at the start.

Hmm is the S4 heavy enough? I noticed the GTO also but I dunno if I can buy that either. I think it's still locked like the Charger SRT-8 is. I saw the old Pontiac GTO was the right weight as well but I cant buy that either.

I love you, Brett. 👍

The funny thing is I still think the game is awesome, BUT SCREW ALL THOSE FANCY PANTS JAPANESE CARS UGH I HAET THEM

TOYOTA MORE LIKE TOYBUTTSLMAO AM I RITE FOLKS?

What? But those are the best cars to have! While racing online, why would I want to look like a typical punk kid in a new, popular car, when I could wallop the competition in a Lotus Carlton or 914/6 or something and leave at least half of them wondering what the heck they just lost to?

Besides, while I'm all for including as many old and/or neat cars as possible, from all regions...once you've driven a classic american musclecar, you've pretty much driven them all.

"Neat, this car has a ridiculously huge V8, RWD, and a chassis as rigid as a wet noodle! Hey look, this one does too! Oh wow, another one! What a diverse selection!"

You have to do a combination of spoiler changes and rim size. You should use your prize cars to beat some more races.

aaahhhhhhh??? NO!!!!!

what about the supra, trueno, mr 2, 2jz powered 2000gt...

Apart from the 2000Gt all of those cars have been in about a billion other racing games. Also I actually own an mr2 but I dont realy like most of the cars toyota put out today but i've said that in other threads.

Still one of my favorite cars so far has to be the 1970's carrera rs

Yeah, there's that, too.

Ok enough with the complaining for me anyway because I am realy enjoying this game even with it's faults.

I did eventually get my MX-5 dialed in, with allot less caster, also I had the springrates the wrong way round and I put the ugly ass forza wing on for some rear downforce. Also i'm happy they have a good eagle tallon in this game unlike the crappy esi one in gt4, I dunno why but I love the way those cars look, although I kinda prefer the looks of the older style ones.

Also regarding the auction part, is it worth looking at to find bargains? I would have put my cts-v up but I didn't know if it would have been worth it, it' did have a fair few mods but I didn't realy want to mess with it much anyway.

Brett are you ever going to accept my friend request so I can kick your ass to Buttzville and back?

edit: btw I hit Level 50.
