What? But those are the best cars to have! While racing online, why would I want to look like a typical punk kid in a new, popular car, when I could wallop the competition in a Lotus Carlton or 914/6 or something and leave at least half of them wondering what the heck they just lost to?

Don't get me wrong, I love my crazy and otherwise odd European and Japanese cars just as much as the other guy (The Lancia Stratos was my secret weapon in FM1), but there isn't a need for 48 Civics, 92 RX-7s, 3000 GT-Rs, and about a billion Z models.

...I would have loved to have had more BMWs and Renaults though. I was eagerly anticipating a Renaultsport Clio or Megane...

Brett are you ever going to accept my friend request so I can kick your ass to Buttzville and back?

edit: btw I hit Level 50.

lmao I forgot about that, the last time I signed into live was the first day I got the game. Ok i'll totally sign in today, although I dunno if i'll be able to race you or whatever.

EDIT: JOHN GIVE ME GOOD HEAVYWEIGHT CAR YOU HAVE FOR FREE PLEASE ALSO THX

Well I've now played Forza 2 last night and my first impression is: Amazing!!!

I started with the solstice and i've also used my Wings West Civic and Lancia Delta in events. I've also just bought a Focus ST, and am in the process of painting it in the Texaco Sierra colours. I'll post a pic of my WIP later.

I've really enjoyed having more and more Europeans online, but it was pretty clear today that some of them do not know how to drive. My good friend Karl learned the hard way many, many times.

...I need to stop painting. I need to stop trying to re-create movie cars...

I've already given away too many cars! 3 F40's! THREE! I don't even have one of my own!

Just played the Game and My golf GTI has 280 HP :D:D and 4WD , this game is hard on hard lol , had to trun ABS and SMS(what ever its called lol) so I could actually get a hang of the game , once I get use to it well turn the stabilty system off then its ABS :D..... overall as first experince great game ... I still want to drive a rear wheel drive car though , I need to get some sleep only slept 2 hours since 6 am yesterday (its 2:52 pm now ) lol damn exams

Is there any guide on how to use the painter? I seriously don't know where to start ...

I used the GT500 for the Heavyweight champeenship.... What a thoroughly horrible car! DO NOT WANT.

I didn't like the car till I fooled with the suspension. But I used the CTS-V pumped up to about 600hp so I could run with the Ferrari in the race. It was close the entire time and I think I only won by a second or two every race.

God damnit I swear i've just had the most frustrating few hours playing this game. I thought i'd try some online racing and for some reason people constantly booted me out of rooms for no reason, I get into a race and then I get spun out on the first corner. I try and create my own room and nobody ever joins after leaving it for about 30 mins.

And I still can't get any of my cars setup right, I use this as a reference guide and I try these forza spreadsheet calculators and still all my cars are cannot drive in an effing straight line they just twitch about everywhere no matter what I do to try and get them to understeer. Or they understeer and then snap oversteer, so I pretty much have to go through every corner with practically 0% throttle and then in a straight line I manage to twitch off the bloody tarmac in an effing straight line, downforce and the stickiest tyres somewhat help but then that inherent twitchyness is still there. I try adjusting the bound and rebound and it gets even worse, nobody seems to be able to give me any concrete answers or anything it's just do this, then I do it and it's either still twitchy or just plows off the course with understeer. I'm seriously regretting buying this game and a second xbox now ffs.

Edit: Oh yeah thx john for the car

man this game is awsome. Started in asia with the FC, just bought the S13(has 400hp+), have overall about 10 car's i think(TK R34 and WRX etc).

My only Gripe so far is how easy it is, ive got it on full 'sim' hard AI etc, and ive only lost once in a D32x against C4xx rival's around maple valley. I've been playing for about an 1hr and a half and am at level 11-12.

I'm really pissed they didn't fix the exhaust issue(alway's look's stock:mad:).
I hate having huge HP car's with wee peeshooter's, and it's even worse as i like my sleeper's, so they are alway's stock.

race idiot: lower your car fully, buy some descent tyres, put front tyre pressure about 36, back about 34-38 then set your bound a good bit more then your rebound(Eg bound = 4 rebound = 3). This should help you out down the straight's. Also set your camber at about 1.8 front and 1.2 rear, for about 360hp and under.

should make it pretty nuetral, just dont use the accel as a trigger lol.(not saying you do)

You not having a mic is a major part of this.

What kind of cars are you having issues with on the straights? If it is RWD cars, then I can understand, but most of the AWD/FWD cars handle just fine under full throttle. Are you using a steering wheel, if not, try being a little lighter on the controls. You've got to feather the throttle on most of the cars, after you apex a turn, because dumping the throttle would cause any car to spin out.

...

Three issues in making F2 "not so damn easy" :):

1. All AI cars are driving on stock-set-up, including stock tyres. If you want to race without serious advantage, you should use stock-tyres only. Also, you shoud try to mantain your car as much as close within same PI as the race leader on grid. Also notice that PI's affected by "rarity" factor, so you can check p-2-w ratio for race leader before comencing performance increases for your car. Which leads us to..

2. AI cars are obviusly driving with ABS - not sure about TCS though, since there is no way to see that for sure. You should notice that game does not increase PI for installing differential which is nice compensation for the above fact.

3. Wait to drive MX-5 cup in Manufactorer Spec races... :)

Cheers Godz.

yea, i relize that, but they were talking about how hard it was gonna be etc, and i sort of beleived them. I have been using well under powered car's, i used a stock 86 for the 150-200hp races(had to tune it for newyork(sp) though).

I just bought a couple of car's of the auction house. A really nice S15 with anime paintjob(i'll try post a pic, it's about 950 layer's, got it for 15k with no paint job lock) and i bought a 350z(can't post pic's of it as it is inapropriate, bought it cos it is funny as hell), oh and a stock VIS Mr2 for 9k.

i sold my sparco evo for 10k buynow and my doluck supra is on there now with 5k start and 15k buyout.

I'm talking about my Trueno and my MX-5, i'm fairly good at modulating the throttle but it seems a bit rediculous that a car on racing slicks looses grip so easily unless i'm using about 10% throttle during a corner.

Maybe i'm just getting all my settings wrong I dunno.

Well, Forza 2 has partly fixed RWD cars since Forza 1, but it's still broken in my opinion. Differential settings seem to affect the car quite noticeably, but I suppose if you've tried everything and are still getting the problem I recommend downloading some of the top-times with the car - they're are bound to be ones similar somewhere on the scoreboard and if not for the exact same car, try and use one for a medium-high power RWD car and see how it feels and what's different.

Not really, do you think a real car will grip much better? Remember, a lot of real cars have traction control, a lot of race cars do too. You take that away and even cars with well under 200bhp will spin their tyres like mad if the power is delivered too abruptly.

If this is true, that's Race Idiot's online problem right there. Live players don't like mic-less people.

No offense, but have you tried just driving with the default settings? If your cars are all twitchy and have little traction, it sounds like your suspension's too tight and you have too much camber.

Or that you could just be cornering near the limit, which means the tires are close to overloading to begin with. Just ask a bit more from them by accelerating and you suddenly have slipping tires.
