To be fair, we are used to MS mugging us, but not being able to upload photos without Gold is an absolute joke.

Also, has anyone noticed how 99% of the people who race online either
A) Can't Drive
B) Have NO sense of their surroundings
C) Ram
D) All of the above
?

A) Driving with a pad can be twitchy, but some people just don't have any consideration for other racers.

B) A lot of people completely disregard that there are other people alongside them during some corners or will just try to drive through a car in front if it doesn't get the power down as early. A lot of drivers also refuse to concede a place even when they have already lost it going into the corner. There are others who think that every corner on a course is an overtaking opportunity, and will try to come from 5 car lengths behind down your inside under braking.

C) Some people do it on purpose, some people have no idea how to follow another car closely and refuse to adjust their predetermined braking points to accommodate the car in front. Once again, some people will think that a pass is possible anywhere on the circuit and will try to stay unnecessarily close the whole time. No-one is perfect and I don't mind getting a nudge where it's been 50:50 going into a corner, or if someone has made a slight mistake and made contact, although I would always let someone past if I thought I had gained the place by bumping them off-line.

I'm going to add my own pet hate,

D) Players who weave or sideswipe in order to stop you passing down straights.

Weaving is the act of moving more than once to defend your line in any given situation. If you move to cover the line from the car behind, and he then ducks back under you, (in theory) you shouldn't move again until it is necessary to retake the racing line for an approaching corner.

The bottom line is that if the person in front of you has decided that he isn't going to let you pass no matter what, it will usually end in tears for both drivers.

Well, to be honest pretty-much everything in F3 is forgiving. Very much so. That koenigsegg should be spitting me off on every corner on fujimi but somehow I'm able to hold it either dead straight or drift it unbelievably smoothly through every corner. Same with the F40.

So basically I wouldn't worry about it not being as forgiving as a ZR1 when the game basically won't let you crash as long as you've got better reaction times than a dead person.

I have to disagree. I have found the ZR1 and F40 a bitch to drive, and I can't keep them on the road. The biggest squirrel so far for me are the Holden R3's. Jesus lord help me. I moved my Expert settings for that to turning on traction control and STM just to get one lap done. Every corner turns into a straight for me. Most frustrated I had been in the game so far :nervous:

You just pointed out every racing online game to date.

Okay, so I just played Forza 3 online for the first time. It's pretty freaking sweet. Even despite the fact that there are some people with questionable driving skills out there.

Part of the fun is strategizing how to win while also avoiding being rear-ended by people who don't know what brakes are.

I'll argue the GTR2 case later, when I'm awake.

In the meantime, has anyone noticed in storefront that the Turn 10 picks ALWAYS belong to VIP members? Like, every single one....

Not terribly surprising.

Indeed.

Anyone who wants to see it go to Marketplace and look for a Hyundai Genesis advert, go to it (download the awesome themes, I mean, they are free - who doesn't love free?) but look under upcoming events and you'll see it, first in line. 👍

Does anyone know if the race seasons ever end? After season 6 I'm not interested in doing seasons anymore. I rather want to play the remaining events from the "event list", where you can choose from any of the 220 events directly.

I believe it's ongoing, just go to Event List and do it from there.

S'what I've been doing up until now before I realized, rather, remembered season is linked to a few achievements.

Why I care about the achievements I have no idea.

Keep going as there is an achievement for completing Season 6. After that, you should be done.

Any mention as to what's going to be in it? (crosses fingers for 76 skylines ;) )

No idea. I haven't rummaged through the forums for any info...I found out through the Hyundai Genesis advert on Live this morning.

I have to wonder how many hours that is going to take

Finishing season 6 takes about 25 hours if you always take the short events between the championship races.

Finishing all 220 events (about 1.000 races) takes about 140 hours. This does not include the time you spend elsewhere (menu, loading times, etc.).

Once you finish the 6 seasons can you keep going or does it make you start a new game? I know it's a silly question but you never know.

I was rather happy with my first online race last night. Took my D350 Civic to the road racing category. It was at Rally di Positano. Everyone else has C and B class cars. Most of them crashed themselves out in the first turn, the first place guy was in a VX220 and seemed to be a pretty good driver (had some lag though, which worried me about any potential passes). In the first parts of the track I was gaining on the Vauxhall. Eventually I was right on his bumper and he moved left to let me come on by 👍. We stayed pretty close, when I made a mistake he tended to do the same, so we had some slight wall contacts. Finally he was able to use the turbo torque of the VX220 to pass me on the steep uphill. He got a huge lead on me there, and I was certain to be taking second place. Somehow I was quick enough on the latter flat sections and he made at least one error to meet a wall. Passed him within the last half mile of track.

Underdog.

Sounds epic! 👍 I think the vast majority of online racers are poor... just like in real life :(

I have always been a fan of the lower class races, C and D class especially.

You keep going. So I'm told anyway, I've not got that far yet.

Well, I guess my xbox has not completely died yet. I'm getting an E74 about 50% of the time that I turn it on, otherwise it works fine.

Normally, I would have sent it in immediately, but I'm having so much fun playing Forza right now that I'm going to roll with it for at least a while.

Right now, I'm trying to recreate my real life car in the game(99 civic), but I'm colorblind and mix a lot of colors up, so I'm having a hell of a time trying to match the color of my car.

I havent been doing much online racing at all, but do the class races change? Right now I only see the R to A class races for the circuit group

Yeah, I'm a bit concerned with that. I like my slow cars...I'm hoping this is just an early thing while they beef up their side of the network to allow more servers and such.

And about that lag in my race, at least when the car "jumps" from one location to the next, it does so as a ghost. So its not going to knock you off the track if it were to be lagging around you.
