I certainly agree about the complaint regarding leaderboards for hotlaps.

Hoplapping is dull now as the leaderboards are un-sortable if you want to run a specific car for the fastest time that car can do as opposed to the fastest time any car can do.

Having the boards ranked by class means that if you want to compete for the top spot, only a handful of cars will be able to compete.

I also wanted to run cars with stock settings to compete on leaderboards that sort by "car" rather than just "fastest time". This way you know it's the best driver and not the tune setting the laptime.

At least from my experience looking at leaderboards, there's not usually just one car that dominates everything. At worst, I noticed that the 2004 Audi S4 is pretty lethal for D class.

Maybe, but it certainly means that the majority of cars in each class can't compete for top laptimes, and consequently, running those cars for the fastest laps they can do is difficult when there is no way to sort the leaderboard by "car" alone.

for me it seems the 4wd cars are simply put allmost unbeatable in most circumstances, making it all a bit boring because I really dislike audi's. using the r8 I can easily win most races online, with the f430/f40 I suck. Also I hate you can't edit a bought setup, it's never exactly how you want it, but if you want it different you have to start from scratch.

4WD is kind of the easy option because other than off the grid, you'll never get any wheelspin. Personally I tend to use RWD cars online as I find it boring otherwise. I find that people's terrible driving more than often compensates for the "advantage" that using a 4WD car gives.

I'd rather have good race where I have to try to come third, than a race where I win by 20 seconds.

I have not got the game yet, can't you create a room where 4wd cars are not allowed or is there not that much detail available in creating your own room?

Cool, so now that he's got a wheel for full steering control, someone needs to give him a set of pedals with analog control. That video sounds horrible with zero throttle control, and I'd have to take away from his driving "skill" for it. And knowing he's Japanese, he's probably spent the last two weeks making that one lap.

I see him holding partial throttle at lots of points in that video... what makes you say he doesn't have analog control throttle?

That's great! I can't believe he did that without hitting any walls!

Using 180's as a way to slow down is pretty impressive. Sounded like he was beating the crap out of that engine though!

holy crap that datsun 510 video was crazy, did he do a 4wd conversion or something? he accelerates soo fast out of those 360's and in general. very skillfull and entertaining video. I need to make me a drift video, or my RWD datsun 510. :)👍

Look on YouTube for it. Google Jube chrome rims color change. You'll find it.
Thats pretty neat, not exactly what I was looking for though. How can you tell if they are not chrome rims and are paintable. Its hard to discern on my tv. Is there an icon or anything next to the rim that is paintable? Or is it trial and error?

I don't think there's anyway to discern them besides guessing really.

I know he does. But I'm referring to the extremely annoying 5,000,000 times he hits the fuel cutoff, and holds it there.

Interesting how the AI cars are stripped of their polys but your car retains them. Not just the headlights but the body panels and hoods/bonnets are much lower in polys.

Not trying to do the game down as I'm interested in how they make the game and even with the stripped down models they can only have 8 cars on the track.

AI car vs my car.

Is there any chance that those BMWs are car installed from the second disc? There might be low-res versions built into the first disc for the AI cars to drive even if you haven't installed the second one.

Disc two is installed.

I did take some lambo pics last week of an AI car and they look very good. Might compare later to a free run. The pics are from the BMW owners club event.

How are you guys playing? i see some are using medium AI. I'm playing the season play in hard mode with the aids off. Get lots of credits that way.

I'm on medium as well, I would switch it to hard but the AI isn't exactly genius material as is, I don't need cars barricading around me. :ill:

I know, but it may always use the low-res version anyway, if this is in fact what its doing.

Turn10 just added:

Circuit racing:
A Class Pro (adds limited damage and no collisions (THANK YOU!))
B Class

All of my seasons are on medium AI, with the rest on expert settings. Sometimes in the championships, I have been frustrated enough to make it back to easy though. I would say 95% of my career is experts settings, medium AI.

Always hard AI. All expert (?) settings. All aids off, but clutchless manual.
