So now what are you going to do?

I dont know. Just continue playing career mode... Eventually see if I can sell the box to someone who doesn't want LIVE but wants a modded box and then buy another one.

anyone wanna buy a modded Xbox that can't go online?

That sucks, man. :guilty:

My sentiments exactly. Regardless of whether the membership charge is refundable or not, you DID pay for it - there should be some way to resolve the issue.

I was still on the free trial. I just bought the modded box 3 weeks ago.

And the console is permantently banned forever on the hardware level. Thats how M$ rolls.

Try calling up customer support and raise hell, saying you bought it used and had no idea it was modded. :P

if you try and can't absolutely prove it with receipts and everything, they ban your Username

There was rumor of a $99 arcade at walmart tomorrow...

Console mod bans are machine specific, the username is not banned. In fact your live account still works fine, just your box can't connect to live anymore

I guess I can't blame them for banning you. But what does suck is if someone unknowingly buys a modded Xbox.

yes I know that. But if you call customer service and try to plead ignorance, they can and will ban your account as well

oh i have no one to blame but myself

OK not exaclty $99 but if you are likely to spend $100 at walmart anyway in the near future, then it does pretty much work out... Also if you want to buy some accessories at the same time, the card could be used towards those...

As for getting their early... well I dunno how that will work out but maybe there are ways to game the system :)

Has anyone else noticed that if the AI drafts off of you in an event your lap is invalidated?

How the 🤬 does the make sense?

Now this, whether it be a hot lap (of course such would be void) or racing against your friends....this I have a problem with.

Isn't there a way that a car being very close behind you can actually help to push the car ahead? It seems like I remember knowing something like that from NASCAR. It would obviously be a lot closer than the distance where this is happening in FM3. I was wondering how I randomly got invalidated laps when I was clearly in the middle of the track.

Now that you mention it, yeah it can. Something to do with pushing high-pressure air forward so less (faster) moving air hits the spoiler...

But like you said you'd have to be closer for that to even be a factor, a lot closer.

Seems their penalty system is just about as retarded as GT's is.

I played a lot of forza 1 and I seem to remember that most of the best times on the leaderboards were due to friends getting together and drafting eachother to set fast times. Maybe this is why they have invalidated draft effected lap times?
I'm still only about halfway through forza 2 and am not on live so no idea if #2 had this problem also.

Had some great racing with Loon, MustangXS (Gamertag, I don't remember who you are here), YSSMAN, and R8man, with a few others. Unfortunately my game froze while changing cars and I lost you guys.

MustangXS set the car rules to A class, pre 1990, which reduces the entire car list down to the Porsche 959, Ferrari F40, Ford RS200, and Ford GT40. I've fallen in love with the F40 after that race. There's something about how it drives, despite using a freakin' X360 gamepad, you feel it. As you turn in hard while still standing on the brakes, you feel the weight pushing down hard on the outside front suspension, giving that tire the last bit of traction, holding you through the turn without a hint of understeer, then full throttle in second gear, the turbo spools, the inside rear tire starts to slip right before the suspension settles back to neutral and you're on your way... :D

Yes... as you drive a low pressure area builds behind your car as a result of the body of the car cutting through the air. This essentially creates a vacum behind your car. Putting another car close behind you displaces that vacum and thus you can go faster as there is no vacum behind you slowing you down.

Yeah, I froze last night at the same time. The F40 is pretty fun, I'd say it's easier to drive than in GT5:P. Me and YSSMAN were having a great race when we were at Atlanta. On the last lap coming out of the chicanes I passed him, but his Subie on the back straight caught up quick. I wound up going in the grass and jerked too hard to get out and wound up slamming into him. That sent both of us doing matching 360's down the track, I nearly flipped my R8. It was definitely fun racing with y'all.👍

Poo, I missed that invite last night. :P I do have a few cars, maybe it's time to get a couple of faves set up for different classes. I'm feeling halfway competent in Forza, finally.

This game is utter **** online. Everyone in A class drives either Imprezas or R8s and unless you do the same you CANNOT win. I'm even driving a 997 GT3 RS tuned especially for track use and it just doesn't come anywhere near the other drivers. What a load of crap.

Why did they make the 4wd cars a stupid amount better than ALL of the others? It's completely ruined the online gameplay.

EDIT: I just downloaded the highest rated most downloaded A class setup for my R8 and it's just terrible. How the hell are the other players getting so much grip with their R8s and S5s?! I just got beaten by a ****ing Alfa because my R8 just understeered like hell. AGH this game is infuriating.

In A class, I use Volvos and Peugeots. :P

But the Volvos are 4wd... not sure about the peugeots... haha

I haven't found a tune yet that felt worth a darn with a wheel controller, so I'm assuming they're all hand controller setups.

I also much prefer racing in B Class and below, off- or online.

I was about to ask what you all were being successful with for A class...I built an Evo9 last night but haven't raced it yet. Its slightly faster than my A Class Supra, and is easier to be consistent with.

I sent you a FR.

👍

I'll accept that when I get on here shortly. Anyone feel like getting a lobby going? Spencer said he'll be on soon also.

I'm in. I'll add you.
