w00t! 2009 MINI Cooper S JCW! I'm excited now. I believe that's the first R56 chassis MINI that's been in a game yet.

“Forza Motorsport 3” Introduces Famed Circuit de Catalunya with New Euro-Sport Compact Cars

This October, racing fans around the world will be able to experience first-hand the adrenaline of taking on the revered Circuit de Catalunya raceway, as Turn 10 today announced the track for “Forza Motorsport 3.” The Catalunya raceway will make its franchise debut with a roster of exciting new Euro-Sport Compacts, as well as the return of the venerable Nürburgring raceway in Germany.

Home to the Formula 1 Spanish Grand Prix in Barcelona, Spain, Catalunya is one of motorsport’s most vital testing grounds. Fans will create their own memorable moments as they encounter a variety of obstacles, whether it’s hugging the short and wide curves or speeding down the straights. Making its return alongside Catalunya is the Nürburgring raceway, which is widely considered to be one of the most challenging and legendary tracks in the world.

“Forza” fans will be able to pilot these celebrated European tracks in style with an entire roster of new Euro-Sport Compacts, including the formidable 2009 Alfa Romeo Brera Ti, 2009 Renault Twingo Renault Sport Cup, 2009 MINI John Cooper Works and more! Don’t let their size fool you – equipped with compact exteriors and packing high-performance engines, these compacts will get you from 0-60 in a heartbeat.

If tuning is your specialty, you’ll love the multitude of customizable options available right at your finger tips. Compacts are known to be some of the most modified cars, and tuners can expect that same level of customization in “Forza Motorsport 3” to transform these cars into powerful driving machines.

New Euro-Sport Compacts available for fans to drive, tune and paint include:

* 2009 Alfa Romeo Brera Ti
* 2009 Alfa Romeo Mito
* 2010 Fiat 500 Abarth SS
* 2009 Ford Fiesta Zetec S
* 2009 Ford Focus RS
* 2009 Lotus Evora
* 2009 MINI John Cooper Works
* 2009 Renault Twingo Renault Sport Cup
* 2008 Saab 9-3 Turbo X
* 2009 SEAT Ibiza Cupra
* 2009 Vauxhall Corsa VXR
* 2009 Volvo C30 R-Design

I really hope GT has this, because I don't have an Xbox. I'm kind of surprised Prologue didn't have it. Anyway, we have the Clubman and IT'S AWESOME!

It's how you get people to buy the more expensive version of the game. At least they are giving the consumer more for their money instead of just a metal case or an art book like so many other LE games do. If I'm spending, what $80 on a game, I want something more than just an art book.

It's a dangerous precedent. This year's Madden will only let you play online franchise if you buy a new copy. GoW did something similar, but was much more reasonable in that it was a map pack of classic stages. The same I fear is happening with LC editions of games - Forza 2 had nice special editions of cars already in the game, but these 5 cars are a step and a half up from that.

£40+ is already a lot of money, I expect gimmicks and collectibles to be paid for by the more hardcore fanbase not highly desirable items to hold the average consumer to ransom over.

Could it perhaps mean that you get these cars in your garage from the start, and that the standard game allows you to purchase the cars? Because I am not buying the special one, and if I can't have those cars, I will be very angry with turn 10

Wait...Cir...Cir...Circuit de Catalunya? They mean this one?

:bowdown: It's official: Turn 10 is awesome.

If forza is a game then why do you have it on GTPlanet? it's not forzaplanet.

Because we may like to talk about something that's NOT Gran Turismo.

WEEEEEEYYY!
I will officially never get past the beginner races in Forza 3 as I will never use any other car ;)

If forza 3 is anything like Forza 2 in terms of gameplay, I am pretty sure a 500 will be my first car (if it's available)

Oooh Nurb pics are in that gallery too

One thing I noticed in the last pic was that the corner names are the pre-Yokohama ones, which could mean it might not have changed that much from F2 which would be disappointing (I don't care if they get the other tracks wrong but please have a decent Nurb this time around).

Oh, and Volvo :D

So....anyone else want to race some hot hatches round the 'Ring as soon as it comes out? :D

As things stand now, my plan of action is to go straight for the fiesta Zetec S, it should be cheap enough to purchase straight away, the goal then is to save up enough credits to buy the Ford RS200.

The RS200 will be all i need to take on the later challenges, its AWD mid engine setup + upgrades should see off any challenges from the AI.

Once thats achieved its just a case of unlocking certain cars, then getting down to business online where the real action is.

I'm looking forwards to racing thoes hot hatches sporty micro cars around. I'm hoping they've remoddeled the Ring so it's more accurate, it was ridiculous in Forza 2 and even worse in Forza 1. I'd rather they made up a track of Ring like proportions than use artistic license to the extent that the track ends up hardly anything like it should. I'm looking forward to the game though.

Do I see that Volvo cocking its wheel in that shot? I hope so, the hatches wouldnt be the same without some 3 wheel cornering.

They haven't.

I highly doubt any RX-7 will be left out.

your right......:)

Most drifters used RX7's in FM2 so someone from T10 should have noticed them and I guess it will be a big lost if a Rotary was left out.

My only big wish in FM3 is to drive/drift in Fujimi Kiado downhill in an FD(or FC) wih the cockpit view. plus the great rotary sounds they have will be awesome. It would be a bonus if they added louder BOV sounds.

I don't think the ring is anymore accurate than it was before, just look at this picture

You could fit 5 or more of those small cars side by side within the rumble strips, it's way too wide. That corner in reality would have only two normal cars side by side and it would still be tight.

Considering it is so wide again, to keep the track on the right shape it will most likely be too long again too. It looks nice but I wouldn't expect it to be accurate unfortunately.

wow that "'ring" is like as wide as motegi's straight... definatly doesn't look scaled accurately.... I understand theyre trying to make the ring more easier for online use so people can overtake but the whole point of the ring is the difficulty to race there cause of the narrowness and blind corners let alone the difficulty of trying to overtake there, making it wide defeats the purpose and probably messes up with the accuracy of its length. it spoils the circuit imo.. just model it as it is, don't mess with it otherwise dont call it the nurburgring let alone calling the game a simulator.

Do I see that Volvo cocking its wheel in that shot? I hope so, the hatches wouldnt be the same without some 3 wheel cornering.

Probably just from the rumble strip. Its a stock Volvo, I highly doubt that can happen. :lol:

Are you sure about that Jay?

you can easily get 4 wide ass GT racers next to each other on certain sections of the ring and that with out going onto the rumble strip.

The Nurburgring's width changes quite alot, different sections are wider than others, some you can just squeeze 2 cars side by side whilst in some places the track opens up much more.

Also keep in mind that those are small little compact hatches in the FM3 image, if the track will allow 4 wide arched GT race cars to go side by side, 5 little hatch backs should be able to get side by side on certain sections.

The textures on that round section of road are oddly angular. Look at the white line on the right, and the dark streak next to it. They're angles...

you've got a picture of the straight Mr.Fox which is quite wide on the 'ring however the hatch photo isnt on the straight and from memory most the corners with grafitti (like the hatch back ss) on them are quite narrow, and even if relatively wide wouldnt fit 5 hatches backs let alone 4 gt cars.

So its corners you want ehh ?......coming right up i'll even add in a little grafitti aswell.

This section of the track is just after the one in the Forza 3 image, as you can see you could fit atleast 4 cars next to each other. In Fm2 this section is slightly narrower than the corner in the FM3 image.

Here we could get 4 caterhams side by side, afik the caterham is wider than the little fiat 500

Wide ass koenigsegg leaving plenty of room

Like i said the track varies in width through out the length of the circuit, it is not consistently narrow some corners are quite wide others are tight as hell, some straight sections are narrow others are not.

The Forza photo is at an odd angle, so it's hard to tell just how wide it is. It is obvious however that the angle makes the track look a lot wider than it might actually be.
