now, just try the same drifts with rFactor (and NOT LFS, which has a bit of the same flaw)...

rFactor drifting with any mod is completely unrealistic. The closest to real is drifting in lfs, enthusia, and forza 2. I haven't played GT5P though, but I heard it feels similar to lfs.

edit:

In rfactor niels cars may be an exception in above. As he does good physics, but still rfactor limits him imo.

And again, ruined by music. They really need to change their music selections, feels so out of place... That could be so much more exhilarating if the music was not relaxing...

Good amount of content in that trailer, actually so much of it went so thick and fast I had to pause a lot 👍

You can still see with the Silvia drift part landin (I assume) is still countersteering then straightening then countering again like I pointed out earlier. :indiff:
Can't see the whole 'scene' from the small sections but it seems that way, same with the foxbody mustang drift in the other trailer.

Edit I love the slow mo cornering parts of the video and the slow mo wheelspin part at the end, too bad they were so short.

Hey there's TWO videos guys. The other video shows the 2010 challenger concept doing a wheelie at the dragstrips lights!!! :scared:

Holy crap dude....I crapped my pants. It's even got a shaker scoop on it!

That Challenger wheelie looks awful, the front end just floats up.

Good to see the two LMP2 cars though, the Dyson Lola-Mazda and the Lowes Fernandez Acura.

Jesus..you can never please everyone, that is for sure. Looks awesome. It will never be as good looking as:

But as Dan G stated, they don't have much in the drag mode. They just threw it in there.

Probably because it's a .gif image.

It's the same in video, the launch is at the end (start is the same as the other video)

Anyway it's nice to see you can get enough grip to lift the front.

It's the way the car just floats up. There's no compression of the rear springs, or the car haunching on the rear tires etc. They've simply added to look 'cool'. That's shocking if that' the game engine, light years away from being a sim.

Yup...looks like about a 1 foot lift, and then comes right back down. Not enough power to crank it, that is for sure.

600+hp Viper V-10 engine in that thing.

I love how they show the suspension drop as the car brakes as it pulls up the the tree.

You're being immature, thefront is still in the air when the video changes, the whole thing does it to smooth. The car isn't accelerating anywhere near fast enough to be able to wheelie.

Sounds like a V8 to me.

LOL. And physics in Forza 2 is the best to this moment.

Just don't start with Prologue thing, it's fun game but not simulator. Though much better than cheap arcadish GT4
GT5:P is better than Forza 2, GT4 was about on a par with Forza 2. But I think really you couldn't care less about the reality of the matter and your comment was simply done with the goal of winding someone up to the point of creating an argument. There's plenty of information regarding physcis and the way cars behave readilly available in bookshops, there's some decent information online too. I sugest that it would be worth looking into it and then if you still feel the same way coming back with a bit of a better staring point for a debate.

Not really, just because it isn't visually right doesn't mean the physcis behind it all are wrong. They could be, but it's the numbers being processed that ultimately matter. We'll have to wait and see I guess.

Dave, As I said the car isn't accelerating anywhere near fast enough to be able to wheelie.

Graphically, no question. Physics, no. *IME*. Not fact.
I'm discussing physcis, the handling of the cars, the weigt shifting, the compression of the suspension. The way the car drives. I know you'll disagree because you're idea is that seeing the damage counts for more than I do but that's it. When it comes to just driving the car, undamaged around a track, GT5:P simulates the cars behaviour better than Forza 2 which was no better than GT4 in thoes regards, it was just different.

Like Joey said, we'll still have to wait and see. We don't know how the video was being played. It could have been slowed down, you might be right I'm not disagreeing with you if the video is unedited in any way but I'm just saing we can't really comment on the physics from a small snippet form the opening movie.

I still disagree. But we all have differing opinions.

I just wish FM3 and GT5 were both out right now and in my machines so I could play them! :nervous::scared::crazy::dopey::drool:

I click download on gamersyde and it just takes me to the top 10 articles and the page layout is broken as if javascript is off, but its not off.

Any other good quality links to the 2 new videos?

EDIT: got it working now, tried about 10 times and finally popped up.

Bogie I've watched the video four times now with my speakers turned up. Everybod else watch the vid again and tell me it doesn't sound like a V8.
