As posted maybe about 10-20 times this game has no microtransactions and is a test/benchmark of DX12 and WUA, sort of like GT5 prologue but without the $40 fee.
Worth pointing out that at that current time there is currently no wheel support given that 1. the lack of time 2. The fact that no game has required a WUA for a racing wheel yet, given that KI which is releasing on the windows store is getting fight stick support by release it is very likely that Apex will have wheel support by time of release which is still unknown.
Also I'm tempted to know which MS games have obnoxious microtransactions, because if you bring up Halo 5 I haven't payed a penny and am enjoying my free DLC

The numerous DLCs for Forza 5 and 6 are microtransactions no? And I only play racing games so I have no idea about Halo.

Well it's good if F6 Apex ends up being completely free without MTs, but knowing M$ it just seems like too good an opportunity to pass up. My original point still stands: F6 Apex is basically just promotion for the main game on XB1. I don't think they have any intention whatsoever of bringing an actual Forza game to PC platform, at least for now. Since the lack of content nullifies Forza's only advantage compared to other PC sims, I'm just not gonna bother.

If future Forza games get a full release on PC, then I might reconsider.

I think more then anything it's a test run, not necessarily to promote XB1, but to get everything worked out for PC. They said yesterday, that from now on future Forza titles will be released on xb1 and for Windows 10 PC.

Yep, no intention whatsoever.

Developed by Turn 10 Studios, “Forza Motorsport 6: Apex” is the first step in Microsoft’s commitment to creating amazing Forza experiences for Windows 10 PC gamers.

Available for free in the Windows Store this spring, “Forza Motorsport 6: Apex” paves the way for future Forza experiences on Windows 10.

At this point we have no idea what the future of Forza is on Windows 10 other than the above statements which tell us it does have a future. Probably best to not just make stuff up based on nothing ;)

I'm hoping for the best too, but you just can't trust the gaming industry these days. Time will tell ;)
See prousonhairy's post above mine. They have said it will be a dual release in the future. I also read this but can't find a link so did not want to repeat it. Your basically presenting your opinion as fact, don't ;)

Ah, it has never been my intention to present it as fact. It's just the impression that I get from the whole thing. Edited my original post to be less "fact-y" ;)

Since FM6A is basically marketed as a testbed/tech demo... how does this compare to GT HD Concept, which was almost the similar thing? 💡

With Microsoft's recent track record, if there's enough dissent over the Windows Store then we could expect MS to pull a few 180s on it, potentially making FM6A and future PC versions more desirable.

Anyway, I have to say I remain a bit surprised the rumor turned out true this time. If the Horizon series is also destined for Windows 10, then I can forget about Xbox with zero reservations, with or without Microsoft's shenanigans regarding W10 and the Windows Store. I don't want W10, but dual-booting a secondary W10 partition for even just a handful of games is certainly worth considering compared to a whole console, especially when the PS4 has more than twice as many exclusives beckoning me.

H3 is looking more and more likely http://www.teamvvv.com/en/news/comments/Forza-Horizon-3-possibly-leaked-for-Windows-10

And MS have said that future Forza titles will be developed concurrently on both Xbox and W10.

Interesting read, and like most of these things I would imagine the truth lies somewhere in the middle.

Currently? No. It's as transparent as it's currently being criticized for. The good news is Phil is aware of the criticisms and says he doesn't want UWP to be the "walled garden" it's currently building around itself.

Only time will tell, of course.

Leaks above ^

I wonder if it is the same guy that leaked the Caparo and the Citroen, and would we see better lighting like found in the showcase events?

Looking at the leaked screenshots, some of the cars allow you to "Unlock Early", and a Forza Hub that unlocks the car for free. Sounds like P2W...

EDIT: T10 states in their forum FAQs for the game that there will be some microtransactions, but are completely optional. Explains the options I listed above.

Got 6700K and 32GB DDR4 RAM. GTX 970 should hopefully be able to run it on highest settings at 1080p 60FPS. Plan to upgrade to Pascal or Polaris based GPU that's faster than the 980 Ti and SM961 or PM961 SSD once they're released.

So how many of you are setting a dedicated PC aside for Apex?

I dont run Windows 10, I mainly run Windows 7 laptops. I dont even use a desktop much. I do however have a spare PC aside, 8Gb Xeon 122x something with a 240gb ssd and whatever AMD video card is free, right now it has a 7870 2gb.

Its running Windows 7 but I wonder if I need a new video card for Apex? I really only want 1,080p 60fps.

I doubt I need to upgrade mem but I do have a few 4/8Gb sticks in the spares box.

New Polaris sounds interesting but I dont know if I want to spend more than I spent on the entire Xbox for a video card just to primarily run Apex.

The GTX 970 is pretty much the GPU for 1080p 60fps gaming. Barring the 3.5gb VRAM it's a solid card. But the R9 390 is giving the 970 a run for its money. Plus the 390 has 8gb of VRAM.

But we don't know the PC requirements yet, so I'd hold out until we get something. Though I'm assuming Apex won't be too difficult to run.

Yeah to be fair, I think an R9 380 4gb might be a great deal once Polaris hits. Or the 380x.

I think you need a 4Gb card going forward. The 7870 was my last 2Gb card. Also I dont buy Nvidia.

I agree I dont think Apex would be a huge graphical leap over F6 simply because MS are doing a shortcut and they dont want a PC title to vastly outshine an Xbox title.

Sorry for being late to the party, been out of the loop for a bit - for various reasons.

Happy as can be to finally get a proper game on PC that bring with it the (somewhat specific) FM/GT formula. Even if that game isn't necessarily going to be FM6:A, but FM7 should be releasing in 2017, if I remember T10's development schedule right

Any information yet on customization, or more specifically, tuning in FM6:A?

Look at the demo video. You can almost bet it has the same tuning same aftermarket wheels same bodykits.... Turn10 dont want to give you the whole Forza experience but they're not going to spend time removing stuff people dont care about.

So all they do is remove cars, remove tracks and the mission structure will still be 2/3/4 laps on the same class restrictions. Which for me, is enough. I mean what ya want for free? I do want to see how they monetise it.
