I thought PS and Gran Turismo "disconnected from server" was bad but Xbox Forza way way worse.

Cant race, hours spent trying to.

ON the rare occasion I get on the page where I choose car and wait for the laps to finish for race in progress, right when race to start I get kicked out. And yes, my connection is fine.

You're not missing much, I only play Forza for the single player, multiplayer outside of Rivals is purely an "only if I have to in order to get a prize" ordeal.

Stay away from the noob lobbies (S class, track toys, supercars etc) and it's actually not that terrible. I've had some epic races in the Endurance GT lobby. You get a bad apple once in a while but as far as I've seen the racing is fairly good and clean. I've done 20something races in that lobby since the game came out and had only one where there was a rammer. YMMV but those lobbies so far seem to be the best ones for actual racing.

For me at least it's not the bad drivers that ruin it, it's the lack of match making. It seems like I'm in a gray area where I'm not fast enough to keep up with the lead pack, but also faster than the few cars at the back. This results in me being pretty much alone on the track half way through the race, which isn't all that fun.

I have been meaning to try the Endurance lobby, but I haven't spent much time with the Forza GT class yet.

I've spent around 7 hours total in FM7 online, and 4 of those were in the Forza GT Endurance hopper. Great clean fun can be had in this hopper. Plus I love how the Forza GT cars drive. Crisp handling and amazing sounds.

I've only ran a few of the ghost league races myself in FM7.
In general I hate the hoppers. The system they had in FM2 was so so much better.
The online play in FM went from the best I have played to total garbage overnight.

Yeah, it seems like it would help a lot if they looked at lap times of drivers and placed them in according rooms as much as possible.
I've punted quite a few people because I was just taking the corner 40-50mph faster than they were and didn't have time to react, or they don't even have time to see me to not come over in front of me.

Endurance Forza GT, have tried 16 times a day, on average, for weeks, NEVER get in. ALWAYS says disconnected server.

hmm... I've never really had much in the way of connection problems dating all the way back to Forza 2.
I do remember my brother having tons of problems with Forza 2 to the point that he just thought the online was useless at one point but turns out it was on his end. In his case he had two xbox systems connected to the network and they were stepping on each other. The same thing happened here when he brought his xbox over and connected it. When I tried with only one xbox connected it worked without a hitch. Turns out that our routers were the blame for not being able to get two systems online at once. He switched to a dlink gaming router and never had any problems after that.

Have you checked your router settings to make sure it is set to open NAT? Do you have more than one system connected? Are you using hard wired or wireless connection?

I decided to give the Enduro GT hopper a try and only got confused. For some reason the race was at Long Beach West, which has no pit road (but maintained a pit stop requirement) and seems terrible for online racing as pretty much the entire field crashed in turn 1.

I’ll try again later.

I am so done with Forza 7 multiplayer. The amount of completely braindead idiots on there is plain shocking. Whatever happened to the whole "enforcing strict penalties to cheaters and rammers"? :grumpy:

I check the NAT thing in settings, says everything is working perfectly. Only connected to Xbox and maybe an IPAD at the same time, we have 100/10 speeds.

Just logged in PS3, GT 6, no problem, so I now have to get a PS4 and GT Sport, I guess Forza and Xbox is a bust for online.

There should be no problem with Xbox or Forza Online. It has worked well since before GT even had an online mode. There are many things that can cause issues with your online experience. The Nat settings, the connection type, possibly even the area where you live.

If you are using a wireless connection try a hard wired connection and see if the problem goes away. I have been racing with friends on the east and west coast and in England on a regular basis for the last 10 years on both Forza and Gt and like I said before I almost never have an issue and did not even when I was on a 1mb connection playing Forza 2. Now I am on a 100mb soon to be 200mb but have always had my router set to NAT open and using nothing but hard wired connections.

Oy, very hard to do, router in bedroom and Xbox in living room.

Major operation to run and hide a wire from one room to the other. I have a wifi extender two feet from Xbox but running ethernet from it to Xbox still means I am relying on a wifi signal at some point.

NAT open on router? What? Do I need to make an adjustment on my router?

NETWORK ISSUE low bandwidth, is what I get also. Again, my connection is perfect, 100/10 speeds.

Forza titles are hosted on Microsoft Azure servers and unless there are technical issues on their end they typically hold up well during times of high demand. That’s one of the main benefits of being a first party franchise.

I'm aware that MS hosts all first party dev servers, but hasn't Forza had issues with "rush days" like launch and Christmas in the past?

What do you mean when you say your connection is perfect? Are you actually getting 100mb at the XBox or are you checking that somewhere else?
If you are getting a low bandwidth status at the Xbox then your connection to the Xbox is far from perfect. WIFI is a weak link. When I first moved here I put a wireless card in my wifes PC so I would not have to run a wire. Her PC is upstairs and the Router is downstairs. about 20 feet away and while it worked well enough to surf the net and do emails and such the issues were clear when you tried to copy a file over the network. Dropped packets and low bandwidth had it running at about 1/20th of the speed it should have been getting. I finally broke down and ran a wire directly to her pc and it is now running at the speeds it should. A file that would have taken an hour to copy before now will take a few seconds.

As for the NAT that may or may not be involved here but maybe this will help

I just got logged out in the middle of a decal creation session. Not of my doing-all of sudden the system popped up a message saying goodbye. Boom there goes all my hard work for the last half hour.

Got back into the game and Forzathon is greyed out......even though I already started the latest one in that session I was logged out of......

With my family 2000km away, I was using Forza 7 to fill in my otherwise meaningless Christmas Day.

Not all bad news-I found a 997 RSR on the auction house and had a rather enjoyable race around Watkins Glen in it.

Good times. Thanks to Turn Ten for the snowman racesuit-Im guessing its a gift to everyone?

The last few launch days have been alright from my experience, maybe a few small hiccups but no total outage.

Also, freebie time:
