Howdy, all! Never too early to start keeping a running list over here in GTP land!
All discussion about the car list is appropriate here including speculation, but I'd like to keep full-on wishlisting to the wishlist thread. Please let me know of anything I could do to improve readability, or if there's anything I've missed. Thanks!

What's really weird is that even when Turn Ten mentioned that the Porsche 935 won't be coming to FM8 at launch, it's apparently part of the "High Performance" update of FH5.

Nah just stupid miscomunication between teams, it is very common in big gaming teams where various members of a dev team dont know talk much with each other
A exemple of it was when in FH5 they had put traffic cars on the official car list by accident before the launch
Some recent cars that we have seen in a more recent trailer aren't on the list:

Amongst others I couldn't identify.
1992 Toyota #99 All American Racers Toyota Eagle Mk III
Amongst others I can't identify. Surprised nobody else has covered this since its been out for a few months. Hype must not be great on here.
Wasn't sure to add that, seeing as people are talking about that trailer being an alpha build & whatnot. Also removed the Porsche 935 when I edited my reply because, as discussed, it won't be there at launch. Which sucks because it was the car that caught my attention the most in the trailer.
I saw some older bulids with the same car but without paint schemes
The fact that the car is now showing with paint schemes maybe is a signal that will show up on game
Apologies for not being around to update my list as of late; my health has not been kind to me lately. I will hopefully have things updated after the upcoming showcase livestreams.

Sebring and Road Atlanta yes, because they fall under the IMSA license
I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s no Le Mans tho, as that falls under the ACO’s purview

However, if it's anything by Nürburgring and Road America being "pseudo-confirmed", this means we have 15 tracks already, and five more to reach the bare minimum of 20.
I have (finally!) updated my running list. Apologies again for the delay. Please let me know if anything looks incorrect or if I am missing anything.
While putting this together, I have run into a couple things. The first is that, as we already know, they have edited some of the car lists in their blog posts, removing cars that were formally announced. For example, as already posted, in the article originally published after last year's presentation on 12 June:
Editor’s Note (March 2, 2023): We’ve updated this blog to remove mentions of some cars that will not be available in the base Forza Motorsport game. We’ll share more in the future when those vehicles will be coming to Forza Motorsport and how they can be obtained. We apologize for any confusion.
Oddly enough, this list still includes the GT3 NSX that is now paid DLC. I understand that this game has had a long development time, but I am not a fan of how they have been handling showing us which cars will be in the game and which won't. I know things happen (licensing, etc.) but it reminds me of how poorly handled the launch car list was for FH5 ("My favorite sounding car is the Lancia Stratos!" which didn't end up being in the game and still isn't a year and a half later. Dang you, Stellantis). However, I appreciate them for publicly addressing this.
The second thing I noticed when updating my list came when browsing IGCD's running list is that they managed to spot a few new cars that have not been mentioned over here to my knowledge. They include the following, with their photos (ALL credit to IGCD and its users):
The total of 20 tracks at launch is a bit disappointing if you realise which tracks might not make it over. At least it's already confirmed that there will be tracks added over time, unlike in FM7.
October 10 is only the start of this journey. Forza Motorsport will continue to evolve and expand after its release with regular new career championships and online events, incredible new cars and tracks, and exciting new gameplay experiences over time.
I really hope these tracks are not part of paid DLC like in FM6, and implemented for free like the tracks that were added in FM5. At least there is no such thing as a 'track pass' or 'expansion pass' in the ultimate edition so there's hope.
