how can you tell from that video? I wouldn't use more steering lock than that in a race car on that corner....
(remember it has a F1 style wheel, those aren't meant to turn far anyway since you can't change hand positions)
All I can tell is that it was driven on controller, the cockpit view showed classic "tap steering" whereas a wheel driver would hold a constant angle.

Imma be honest, I’m getting pretty tired of these scissor real style trailers. The only gameplay we’ve seen is from the singleplayer demo and that was clearly no where near finished with many visual effects turned off or not working correctly. I was hoping we’d get a full lap or at least 30 seconds of actual gameplay, gives me the impression the game is still not finished and turn10 is going to struggle with hitting the release date, not saying that’s what happening here but usually when games don’t show raw gameplay thats the case

While I agree that uncut gameplay is good for players like us, this video in particular isn’t really a trailer or gameplay showcase necessarily. The fast-cutting and lack of dialogue, along with the 30 second duration makes me think one thing: it’s an ad.

It’ll be served on targeted videos as pre-roll and probably show up on television briefly.

I reckon he “meaty content” will come around Gamescom, it’s too far out from release to be dropping it now, a traditional campaign holds things back until about a month before release, so that people will more likely pre-order.

Indeed, Xbox is presumably sponsoring IMSA at Road America this weekend, and getting this ad on all paid TV feeds.

Anyone know if the race will be on YouTube like GTWorld does for the GTWC, or is it going to be paid only (i.e. US only) tomorrow?

IMSA.tv if you are outside the states, Peacock if you are.

They also upload the full race to YouTube on a delay.

Doesn’t bother as much, but I was hoping for some raw footage myself.

Alright that makes sense, I think you’re right just have to wait for gamescom or forza monthly

A short track like Lime Rock would be nice for @Morbid65's league races but given the mileage based nature of the single player campaign I'd be surprised if it made the cut.
I think regardless of league play or hoppers or single player, a natural short track is still good for the variety. We have plenty of full size circuits and those often feel too big for C and D class racing... although if they don't screw up the draft again this time around, that won't be as big of an issue as drafting can help make big tracks exciting in slow cars. Places like Monza have fantastic draft battles in cars like MX5 Cup in other games that have a properly functioning draft.

Of course a lot of the community just max upgrades all their cars or only want to drive GT3 cars anyways, so many won't be concerned with short tracks.
I think we can conclude that everyone has a different preference. Do we want the best tracks for racing by ourselves, the best tracks for online racing (without turn 1 being a massive mess), or the best tracks with many variants?

T10 have a hard job :D
While how much someone likes a track is subjective, there are some objective qualities to them that can be weighed. Things like number of variants, whether the track feels old-school or modern, size, location, relevance in real-world series, and so on.

As far as turn 1 crashes and stuff, I don't think they need to be as concerned with that in general, as long as a huge portion of the track isn't a death trap. Like Monaco would be terrible as there are a ton of crash points and it's narrow everywhere, but Monza... sure turn 1 gets messy, but morons will make any track messy, the rest of the track is fine really. It has to be on the players a bit to elevate themselves, if we dumb down everything and avoid every challenge it will make for a boring game.

Definitely a hard job though. This has been discussed before in these threads but not only is just choosing tracks a tough job, but the situation they put themselves in with their slowly evolving track list over the years compounds the problem. It's hard enough to choose new tracks, even harder to choose which tracks to cut or whether to prioritize a new track over a returning track that has 10+ year history in the series.
It must be like trying to choose between your children

Speaking purely from a Billy-no-mates single player perspective I like racing on their version of Road Atlanta and Bernese Alps but I know everyone hates those tracks with a passion. Road America and COTA less so, but I'm hoping the grippier tyres will make them easier to navigate should they return (as it looks like RA is making a comeback).
I haven't heard much hate for Road Atlanta really, in most of the league circles it's kind of viewed as the "iconic" Forza track since we have had it since the beginning, and it's a great size being big enough for really fast cars, but short enough it works for slow cars too.

Was hoping it would make the cut, and we could finally make it rain there since rain has been such a big factor in many Petit Le Mans.

Personally I do hate the Alps though. It's a bit of a paradox, I find it only interesting to drive in higher downforce cars, but the racing tends to only be good in zero downforce cars.
When it's done well, COTA can be very interesting to race and drive fast with a clean lap. But it's all too easy to discount it due to the complexity and number of strange turns (rather like Paul Ricard, but unlike Paul Ricard COTA has plenty of elevation change).
COTA is an interesting one... It has the same issue with track limits that many of the modern GP style tracks have, and personally I find it a pretty annoying track to hotlap, but I've had some fantastic races there. If drafting works properly, it should help make it more interesting, and the last 1/3rd of the lap is pretty good for racing as you can set up a lot of crossover moves there. It's also a really interesting track for multiclass racing.
I know we’re going to lose Bernese Alps, Prague, Rio de Janiero, and Dubai, but I’m going to miss them. I always liked seeing those new fictional-but-based-on-real-locations tracks in each game.
I will miss Dubai City variant and Rio, but not the others.

It would be cool to see them try to blend the graphical lean of those tracks with better circuit design though. The scenery at those tracks was pretty cool, and would look even cooler at night. I'm all for them trying to design better race tracks, but if they are fantasy tracks anyways, they don't have to stick to just "normal" trackside scenery of shrubs, trees, catchfencing and billboards.

Dubai in particular would have looked awesome at night, with the airport lit up above the tunnel, and the city skyline off in the distance of turn 1.

Here's what we know:

  1. New to Forza: Hakone Circuit
  2. New to Forza: Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit
  3. New to Forza: Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course
  4. New to Forza: Eaglerock Raceway
  5. New to Forza: ??

  6. Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya
  7. Circuit des 24 Heures du Mans (Le Mans)
  8. Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps
  9. Indianapolis Motor Speedway
  10. Laguna Seca Raceway
  11. Maple Valley Raceway
  12. Silverstone Circuit
  13. Suzuka Circuit
  14. Virginia International Raceway
  15. Nurburgring
  16. Road America
  17. ?
  18. ?
  19. ?
  20. ?
Assuming it's anything to go by with the most-voted tracks, the remaining five will be:

1. Autodromo de Interlagos - NEW
2. Fujimi Kaido
3. Mount Panorama Circuit
4. New York Circuit
5. Tsukuba Circuit

And plus these have good chances, other than being the most-requested tracks in the Forza forums, because:

Fujimi Kaido - Turn Ten have acknowledged the track's existence and popularity over the years, that it would be difficult to ignore its demand within the community. Sure, it could take a lot of hard work to bring Fujimi Kaido back, especially with the current layout seen in Motorsports 3 and 4, due to its size and sheer scale, which could rival that of the Nurburgring, but fans are eagerly waiting for its return.

Mount Panorama Circuit - What would the Australian V8 Supercars be without their most popular home circuit? Another would be its popularity in GT3 and touring car races as well, which really fits the theme of Motorsport very well. Also a fan-favorite during the Xbox One era as well.

New York Circuit - By far the most-requested city track, it would also make sense to add the New York Circuit due to the fact that Microsoft has an experience centre in Fifth Avenue, where they're using a McLaren Senna as a sim rig for Forza Horizon 5. And plus, city tracks have been a dying breed in most hardcore sim and simcade racers nowadays, so it would make sense to have at least one city track at launch.

Tsukuba Circuit - The additions of the fictional Hakone Circuit and the real-life Suzuka Circuit should also allow for one more Japanese track that has been sorely missing from the Forza franchise - the Tsukuba Circuit, popular with time attack races and grassroots level motorsport. This could also allude to the Xbox brand gaining a resurgence of popularity not seen since the days of the original Xbox console.

Wish I could include Motegi but it hasn't been in GT7 yet, and plus, the wording isn't really clear whether it's exactly 20 environments or over 20 environments.

Fujimi kaido I’d say has a close to 0% chance of being included, not really a circuit and is better served in horizon than Motorsport
Definitely agreed there, especially with Eventlab creations in FH5 letting the drifters among us create tandem drifting and touge routes to their hearts' content.

I really do not understand the appeal for Fujimi Kaido. It's a track that was never suited for racing other than drifting and touge. This is why I'm glad Horizon exists, it can appease to these kinds of people thanks to its Eventlab creator. Forza Motorsport should mainly focus on the racing itself and not try to please everyone ala Horizon like FM7 did.

It is a AD indeed, it is suposed to be shown during IMSA ad break
2. Fujimi Kaido
It's a track that was never suited for racing other than drifting and touge
Its exactly that WHY people want do that lol
but i do agree with most people here, Drift, Touge and Drag should be focused on Horizon
Rally Cross would be fun in Motorsport but i dont think will show anytime soon

Fujimi is part of what probably inspired Xbox to make horizon

If Playground ever do a Horizon game set in Japan, I think it would be great if it was essentially Fujimi Kaido but expanded to feature towns and other roads.

Essentially, the track we know/remember would be like the volcano section in Forza Horizon 5 that the rest of the map is built around.

Its been a iconic track ever since the first one.

Not just for drifiting but also for touge, hillclimb and time trials.Challenging corners and the beautiful background of mount fuji.

if you are Forza Motorsport fan, Fujimi Kaido is a must. Horizon does not even come close to Fujimi Kaido. Many people have made lots of memories and racing up the mountain.

I absolutely don't buy that. I'm not a drifter myself but I've still gotten quite a bit of fun out of Fujimi, doing hillclimbs and such. That being said, Camino's still my favorite over Fujimi and I'd really love to see it return.

I've spent some time this weekend playing FM2 and New York is terrible compared to Bernese Alps, Dubai, Rio and Prague. If they bring it back then 1,000s of people will be breaking their rose-tinted glasses. Things aren't always as good as the memories.
I always assume when people want New York that they want the original New York full layout from FM1. The short version from FM2 on is indeed trash... Although the FM3 variant that added the tire chicanes was hilarious for online racing. Still bad, but funny bad at least.

Midfield, Ss5, Apricot Hill raceway, High speed ring, trial mountain and grand valley have been iconic for the GT series.

Same with Fujimi Kaido for Forza Motorsport fans. Its too iconic not to include.

I've spent some time this weekend playing FM2
How about the other tracks? I am expecting Sunset based from what I raced there in FM2-FM4 and maybeeee Motegi
Tsukuba is a no beacuse i know its too tight for fast cars, and maybe some new variation of Test Track Infield

Camino's still my favorite over Fujimi and I'd really love to see it return
I wish to all Montserrat tracks return, it includes Camino, Ladera Test Track and Iberian Circuit, i liked it all and how amazing they maneged to make so much in the same place

I also never undestood the appeel besides the "Its in Japan" and drifting/togue aspects

And that comes from someone that plays FM since FM2, someone that likes japanese cars and culture (not just car culture, but general) a lot and someone that likes to drift and to togue sometimes

I, for me, find the fact they are doing a new track on (same location as/nearby) Fujimi more exciting than the idea that maybe they would bring Fujimi back, even if is turn out like a copyright-free Fuji Speedway as i am expecting

Hell, i would hype more for a new track based on Grid´s Okutama (that circuit that is some-what a Japanese LeMans that mix circuit racing with touge in its full circuit form), FM1 Tokyo return or a New Circuit based on FM1 shipyards/Stage Route 5 than a Fujimi full return.

Same with Fujimi Kaido for Forza Motorsport fans. Its too iconic not to include.
I also think that Maple Valley, New York, Sunset and Montserrat circuits complex are more iconic than Fujimi as well, i think that Fujimi popularity is super inflated by Horizon-only crowd that happens to enjoy drift/touge more than circuit racing.

Rally Cross would be fun in Motorsport but i dont think will show anytime soon

Hard to see it at launch after their tarmac based circuit comments, despite how many big tracks do offer it and how that would expand the number of tracks per environment. Guess it could make a really good DLC addition instead on it's own.

For NYC I'd say at least one city environment with multiple track layouts is a must, given it's an Xbox console selling game coming out in time for Christmas.
