Game dead on arrival on PC

So on PC you can play the SP content and probably timetrials on High FPS and the MP shifts to 60.
I don't like that decision.

Imagine practising a track in a SP mode and being forced to go back to 60 for the MP Race....
So lock the game to 60fps at all times on PC if all you care about is multiplayer.

Besides, with the game's specs I'd argue that you need a pretty monster PC to play it in ultra details and get above 60fps anyway. This is a problem for the future, not today.

Honestly I actually appreciate T10’s decision to nerf PC users if the game is gonna have cross-platform multiplayer
Lower frame rates = quicker response time and less input lag
If the Xbox version doesn’t have 120fps support, this is a good chouce

VIP/Forza Edition/Welcome pack is contradicting if we have to earn XP for modifications. I wonder what mods are included and if you keep those mods if removing the tune. Could be totally worth the money in time saved earning the XP for mods and in-game purchase.

BRM's a 1974 P201.
And yes, that's a Lotus 40 on the Car Pass thumbnail.

I'm pretty sure, if previous Motorsport/Horizon games are anything to go by, that those cars will be treated as completely separate cars from their stock counterparts, and will have fewer possible upgrades compared to the stock variants. The tunes were also tied to each car as a preset, and you could revert back to it if you made your own changes.

It's to promote equal racing competition on cross-play. You don't want players on PC to have an advantage over players on the XBOX Series S/X console.
To be fair though, ultrawide is a bigger advantage than frame rate, and that is allowed

I honestly agree with that other guy. It doesn't really matter for people who primarily use console (which I assume is most of us) but PC gaming crowd isn't going like framerate being limited for any reason.

People who cares about going anywhere beyond 60fps is minority even within PC gaming community, but they're very loud minority nonetheless.

Seems like a pretty advanced title:
Direct Storage
Shader Pre Compilations
DLSS2 and FSR 2.2
RT

Oh and for wheel users:
In addition to native support for popular racing wheels from Logitech, Thrustmaster and Fanatec, Forza Motorsport supports the DirectInput API on PC. This allows players to plug in and play with a much wider range of hardware than before. There is also input remapping so you can customize the button layout of your controller, mouse and keyboard, as well as your favorite steering wheels and non-standard gamepads like flight sticks. This level of device extensibility means Forza Motorsport is accessible to more players who use custom hardware setups.

Forza Motorsport also features rumble vibration on Xbox controllers and improved force-feedback for wheel users. The game takes advantage of advanced wheel features to display RPM, shift lights and race data on custom screens.

Seems like it is DS 1.1, not DS1.2 with GPU decompression (like Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart)

Has RT been confirmed for on track for Xbox Series X?

It's a pretty dumb reason considering something like a wheel is going to cause a much bigger disparity than 144FPS (and also that no other relevant online sim locks FPS online regardless). Even on console they could still offer an unlocked up-to 120FPS mode if they wanted like F1 or GT7 do if that's the concern.

"BIG UPDATE: heard from an engineer at T10 - they actually lock based on your monitor's refresh rate so MP races could for example have a framerate of 72fps if you have a 144hz monitor. "

apparently its a weird lock

That doesn't really change much, they need to have a range of ~60FPS so they can have proper frame pacing on all monitors as otherwise you'd have stutter with like 144hz or 165hz. If they actually allow high framerates then it's all good

Seems weird. If I have a 240Hz monitor would it lock to 120Hz or to 60Hz?
My 165Hz monitor causes FM7 and FH5 to give me 83Hz as a frame rate option, so I guess it would lock to this in FM2023? :D

Anyway, trust the PC community to latch onto everything. I find it kind of refreshing to have a game visibly console-first despite being made available for PC. Certain competitors don't even bring out a PC version, after all, or we'd probably be having a similar conversation there.

The ring not been in at launch is a big disappointment for me, but on the other side its nice to know that every track is updated to the latest version. Seeing those specs also show why this is current gen only, holy ****. Also nice that DLSS is there at launch since MS games most of the time never bothered with it which was ******. And more tracks coming for free is nice to hear since the track list is smaller this time and tracks keep a racing game alive. And they are talking about further enhancing and updating the pc version after launch which is interesting (in a good and bad way). I already pre orderd the ultimate edition so i can't wait to play it on my pc.
