Hey, I'm not a good photographer either but I'm having fun and it's all that matters. I will not disclose any names or link anything because I'm not an asshole but someone posted a picture of an F430 today from GT7 that looks 3 generations old.
There's also some pictures in certain threads with too much exposure or glare on the cars.

Is Car XP going to be easy or difficult to earn? I think I recall hearing levelling a car all the way to level 50 would approximately take an hour but it could vary depending or car speed and other factors.

Speak for yourself, I personally think that giving us a free car in Horizon every week for the tiny price of logging in for 30 minutes during that week is very generous.
I dont think you have to log in for any amount of time, unless it was mentioned somewhere I didnt see that.
In FH5,if you had the car pack, they were delivered each week regardless,I went on holiday for 2 weeks and when I returned there were 2 cars in my message centre.

Ah, you are misunderstanding something.

FH5 launched with around 550 cars, and came with a 30 car Car Pass (rather like FM2023 will do). However on top of that it has rewarded us with a new free car each week for doing seasonal playlist tasks. It takes roughly 30 minutes or less to earn the car each week.

FH5 just hit 748 cars in total, of which 72 new ones were DLC (30 from the Car Pass, ~10 from VIP/drifting pack, 2 expansions with 10 cars each and then the 4 and 7 cars from the paid DLC packs). ALL of the other new cars (i.e. 130 or so) have been given to players in the seasonal playlist as free rewards.

The "problem" is that if you miss a week, then the free car isn't easy to catch up on. It will eventually come back as a reward for a Playlist activity, but it could be months. FH4 dealt with this same issue by creating a "Backstage Pass" which you could earn as a token, then pick a previously rewarded car from the list to fill in your gaps. FH5 doesn't have an equivalent to this yet, so some people have gaps in their garage as a result of missing a week.

FM2023 will no doubt give us free cars after release, the only question is what you have to do earn them.

Edit: Just to be clear - the reason why FH4 and FH5 have these weekly playlists is clearly player retention. Give players a reason to login to the game every week and you ensure they show up as Gamepass users during that week. It's clearly a model built around Microsoft's Gamepass statistics, with the firm intention of getting good ratings for the game within Gamepass. This is good for us players, because the higher Forza is in Gamepass rankings, the more likely Microsoft is to throw money at it.

So a weekly playlist system is very important to Forza Horizon. The question is how FM2023 will aim to "win" the Gamepass algorithm.

Pretty sure these free cars will also be available for instant use as rental cars in Free Play as well.

Do correct me if I'm wrong, but I think T10's already confirmed new cars will be added as career mode rewards over time. I've no idea if that's for winning races, championships or completing other stuff, but it hopefully means you won't miss out on the new cars if you can't unlock them within the first week or so they're available in the game.

If they do, that would be great. But then the question becomes how they keep players logging in to FM2023 each week for those juicy Gamepass retention numbers.

Until we know that, I'm going to wait and see.

The fun and competition of racing?

Horizons online multiplayer is completely aimless and on its own won’t keep players engaged, they have to drip feed you content to keep peoples interested

I think FM will add cars monthly with no FOMO. They will rely on Festival playlist in FH5 for Gamepass retention, while FM will rely on gameplay to hook players.

Besides FM has a more dedicated fanbase compared to FH in terms of focus.

I’m not worried about the dedicated fan base, but those millions of gamers who don’t race online and need a good reason to login to Fm2023 every week.

Forza Motorsport was never going to have splitscreen. That's just a decision the team made based on usage. We see how many people play in splitscreen and just decided to put our dev effort where people are actually playing.

Brand affinity is back

This can’t be right, the game is just being rushed out missing key features less than 1% of the player base uses…

Seriously though last few days all I’ve seen gaming outlets reporting about no split screen when the vast majority of forza players couldn’t give a ****

They’ve already played their hand for gamescom, the PC/wheel specs was their news and it’s usually the case that a game won’t do more than 1 big news drop a week. At most this will be a recap, maybe the show floor non-playable demo gets shown with direct capture.

They obviously have that model to ensure player numbers on Gamepass, to keep Microsoft happy. So just accept it and enjoy the free cars rather than moaning about something which just takes a few minutes of your time.

Edit: Sure, it would be good for them to release these playlist cars generally after a certain amount of time. Like Backstage in FH4 but better. I'm sure they will do something of that kind, probably a bit after FM2023 release.
My only problem is that, if i have a busy week or is finshing another game and wants to make a push on said game, maybe will lose the chance to get some cars, and I genuinally dont like or want that

I think think the new motorsport career mode system will be equal to Halo BattlePass but without the subscription factor, if you want wait, lets say, 6 months, and try play what happened on last 6 months, the game will give you this option

Maybe they saw the avg game time for people that dues it turns out being better than the avg game time of FOMO Playlist

You're talking to a member who laughed at Xbox expanding its ability to help disabled gamers play.
Some folks are sad man.
Some people (i prefer use people over folks) have the stupid false feeling that making the game more accesible will somehow make the game less simulation and more arcade beacuse it dont need a Hercularian job or worst do drive a freaking car

I said here and in other places over and over: Realism IS NOT difficulty, more difficulty doesnt always mean more realimsm
Some cars can be actually more realistic if they are easier to drive vcs the average of other cars, specially if the cars have lot of grip that makes turn curves easier

The true bottleneck is 4k, the jump from 1080p to 4k was massive and the hardware only just started to handle it.
and people want go even futher to 8K
Can we just focus in gameplay and experience just for a generation? will Nintendo the only console company of 3 that only cares about it?

Nope, concepts are definitely coming. The Aston Martin Valhalla is one of them.
Rimac C_2 concept and the Nevera are both coming.
I think that maybe the Urban Rebel will be in the game, i mean, its a literal track machine made also for streets but i am sure it would be great for the track as well

Also i think Mission R, even if is more a protoype car than a concept, could be count as concept too
(actually I hope people organize Porsche cups with Mission R, its a such underrated car)

Is there also a Car-Livery section like in GT7...?
They will give options to paint your car and probally import custom stuffs from others
I dont know if they will (finnaly) add image importing, i know it has polemics about it on FH5 on last year or so but nothing deep about it so far

Don't expect much, then.

link?

That’s development time that can be spent on something that people will actually use
This is what i had been talking on last few days, it looks that T10 are putting their priorities where it needs to, no need to waste time ith features that not everyone uses it anyway, lets focus in get our driving physics better, in make tires and pit stops better, remake each track from scratch with new time and weather systems

This is what i want to see in racing games, not stuffs like fancy colored smoke in cars or the fact a car costs the same or similar as the real life

It already came and went. Nothing new was shown. Just a small selection of clips we've already seen, the usual "physics so good!", full 24 hour time!, and Chris Esaki telling us there will be more tracks later.

Except for a couple of a few Porsches here and there, but you can't rewind, and there's no VOD at the moment.

Looks like the only new Porsche there is the 2019 Porsche 911 Speedster.

And there seems to be some reused B-roll of the Cadillac DPI-V.R, so there might be some hope that it, along with the Ginetta, Porsche 935, Porsche 956 and Oreca 07 are coming back for launch on the base game's car list on launch day.
