It already came and went. Nothing new was shown
Yea i think that we should see more on Next Monthly and in Tokyo Game Show, i think Hakone will be the last track to be shown in those short videos about the tracks

We surely will see shadow track reveals for the last 3 returning tracks and maybe even the tracks in updates like they did with Nord

show floor non-playable demo
Actually it was playable, but only a T10 guy could play

it had a guy explaning and another playing the game, you could hear the guy explaning bantering about the driving of the other guy in some videos

You can still watch here
Thanks

Also, i know some people dont like the RC-like buzzing of Eletric Cars but its so weird to see the Mission R without the Buzzing sound, its a trademark of the car (for good or for worst)

More tracks are coming to our game after the launch, including some good old fan favorites returning and brand new tracks

So place your bets, what tracks they will be bringing after launch?
I guess it already confirms interlagos

Cars still look like plastic.

Setting aside what's already been said about what you think of accessibility options, and presumably, players with disabilities... It's funny, really. I seem to recall you had some very choice words for people who don't like a game...

Oh yeah!

Might I suggest practicing what you preach with Forza, if you feel so strongly about it?

Interesting that he mentions bring back past favorites.
Probably hinting at Fujimi.
That's your own desires talking :gtpflag:

It could be any of their existing tracks, based on most driven circuits I'd assume Monza personally. But Bathurst could be too, since that's also high up the Wishlist.

They are really not doing a great job in the way they are showing the game. They just need to upload some high quality gameplay footage with various cars and track combo with different types of weather. People are looking at offscreen compressed footage of the game and judge the way it looks and plays.

On the marketing side I think Xbox is set on having all attention directed to Starfield. Not using FH5 to raise awareness about FM, like Ubisoft has used TC2 to promote Motorfest, seems like a missed opportunity. But it seems there are also very keen on keeping FM and FH well differentiated.

On a next showcase, if any, I would like them to address car and player customization.

I really hope the livery editor isn't just the same old one we've had for ages now, I'd love to see some improvements like trim/bumpers being able to get vinyls pasted on them and even different vinyl materials. For instance: I can't put vinyl shapes on a 1969 Camaro's chrome bumpers in any Forza game.

Also, really hoping for some direct captures of the Mugello gameplay, and finally some Hakone footage!

I want to have porn livery on mine! (not multiplayer of course) 😎

Ah, you are misunderstanding something.

FH5 launched with around 550 cars, and came with a 30 car Car Pass (rather like FM2023 will do). However on top of that it has rewarded us with a new free car each week for doing seasonal playlist tasks. It takes roughly 30 minutes or less to earn the car each week.

FH5 just hit 748 cars in total, of which 72 new ones were DLC (30 from the Car Pass, ~10 from VIP/drifting pack, 2 expansions with 10 cars each and then the 4 and 7 cars from the paid DLC packs). ALL of the other new cars (i.e. 130 or so) have been given to players in the seasonal playlist as free rewards.

The "problem" is that if you miss a week, then the free car isn't easy to catch up on. It will eventually come back as a reward for a Playlist activity, but it could be months. FH4 dealt with this same issue by creating a "Backstage Pass" which you could earn as a token, then pick a previously rewarded car from the list to fill in your gaps. FH5 doesn't have an equivalent to this yet, so some people have gaps in their garage as a result of missing a week.

FM2023 will no doubt give us free cars after release, the only question is what you have to do earn them.

Edit: Just to be clear - the reason why FH4 and FH5 have these weekly playlists is clearly player retention. Give players a reason to login to the game every week and you ensure they show up as Gamepass users during that week. It's clearly a model built around Microsoft's Gamepass statistics, with the firm intention of getting good ratings for the game within Gamepass. This is good for us players, because the higher Forza is in Gamepass rankings, the more likely Microsoft is to throw money at it.

So a weekly playlist system is very important to Forza Horizon. The question is how FM2023 will aim to "win" the Gamepass algorithm.
My bad,I thought you meant the dlc pack that gives a car each week for x amount of weeks. The playlist that you mention,to me at least, are sometimes quite hard.I struggle with some of the championship races,no matter what car I use the ai just seem to disappear!Time then to hit the auction house.

To add,I was hoping the gamescom video would show us being able to alter race length,I hope we`re not stuck with fixed number of laps.

Yup. I swear some GT fans are more 'worried' about the new Forza than Forza fans lol.
I've started reading twitter again to try keep up to date on FM, but I forgot how toxic it is, between this and Starfield, the trolls are having a meltdown, I even see folks trying to suggest Fort Solis makes Starfield look crap, they're desperate for their tribe to win, it's kinda sad

Oh boy, not half.

I can hear the zeroes.
Aston Martin Aramco Cognizant Formula One Team, a name so long the text has to shrink to fit it into most UI screens 😅

The best one is in GRID Legends:

  • NISSAN GT-R (SUPER GT GT500 Class Racing Car)

The full name is used everywhere the car is mentioned.

All they really have to do is let us upload our own images... The Gran Turismo SVG uploader is a good example of what I mean. Short of having direct access to car textures and just editing template files directly, this would be the best we can hope for.

Ah yes, AMACFOT.

It's the details that matter to me.

I love the attention T10 pay to trackside materials, grass, foliage, gravel traps, marble build-up etc.

I like the more quirky car choices. Someone at T10 is clearly an IMSA fan, particularly from the 70's/80's.

Dynamic weather & time of day is a step in the right direction. Same for the more structured online competition.

With that said, there are so many letdowns in the footage we've seen.

The lighting & materials (metals, carbon, plastics) continue to be off by a huge degree.

No one mistakes any of the footage for the real thing. It very much looks like a game, a polished one it has to be said.

GT7, FH5 and numerous AC PC mods have shown the importance of lighting to deliver a realistic presentation. At this point it seems clear T10 aren't interested in that aesthetic. Even something simple like the exhaust flames reminds me of a last-gen Grid or Project Cars implementation.

Car movement seems off in numerous videos. But you can't really judge until you get hands on. The lack of body roll, diving under braking, driver model physics (reacting to G-Forces), steering wheel animations takes away from the immersion. Particularly from cockpit cam.

I think we're looking at a solid game that will rate in the 80-90 range. But I still feel T10 are stuck in a no mans land where the major corporate, development & player focus is on the FH series. The best thing they can do (which I believe is planned) is to stick with this iteration of FM for the entire gen. Build on it and react to player feedback. They certainly don't need a sequal 3-4 years down the line.
