I think this thread is not that toxic, there is much worse on facebook pages and youtube videos, but i think it goes both ways, no matter if its gran turismo fans or forza fans, you rarely see many people like both, if you like both or prefer the other their is no reason to hate on the other
But thats mostly how it goes down, when forza motorsport releases it will be toxic i can promise that, i dont see why that has to happen each time, i prefer gran turismo but also love forza, forza motorsport releasing is good thing becouse that could make gran turismo to do better and vice versa, but if only one major title is out there is no need to push it, its buisness after all,
Both series are some of my favourite games of all time, I started out hiring a PS1 (before it was called a PSOne) for the weekend to play GT1, before eventually saving enough money to buy my own console. When GT2 came out I imported a US copy, which has lead to "My Favourite Game" by the Cardigans being a permanent fixture on my main Spotify playlist. Had to skip GT3 and GT4 as I could never afford a PS2 at the time, but back on PS3 and PS4 and played each entry since.

FM had a great period between FM2 and FM4 on the 360, especially before GT5 came out and it had no competition, and I certainly feel like XSX has been missing something not having FM yet, so it'll be nice when it releases and us simracers can enjoy a great game on whatever platform we choose

I am thinking of staying with my actual monitor (27", 1080p, 75Hz) even for my next budget gaming PC as it is also one of my 2 monitors for my dualmonitor-homeoffice setup, that i don't want to mess up.

I am curious what kind of hardware i will need to get about 75 frames with enhanced sync/fast sync as my monitor also doesn't have any kind of freesync/g-sync.

Forza team had put a playlist with all track reveals, and 3 track trailers are ready to be shown
Nashville GP? :P

Random thought, if the AI is supposedly so much better, the PI calculation system should be much more balanced, right?
HokiHoshi discussed this at length last month. Timestamped to 7'14":
Another potential advantage of the new system he mentioned earlier in this video is that, because the AI drivers now "know" how to do partial throttle control, they'll be better at teaching players how to drive by example.

I went and watched June 13th livestream,I couldnt see anywhere that showed career race lengths are adjustable, hopefully its in race settings somewhere that hey havent shown yet.Bit of a disappointment if we cant alter race length though reading through these posts it doesnt seem something to be concerned about.

So you can't turn on "just" DLAA, it comes with DLSS or you use another AA technology.
You can use DLAA as the only form of anti-aliasing in FH5 on PC, it's how I run the game. The resulting image quality is far superior to FH4. DLSS is to be avoided in FH5 as it degrades image quality unlike some other games where it improves image quality compared to native rendering. This was already my opinion on DLSS in FH5 before seeing Hardware Unboxed's video looking at DLSS quality vs native in a number of games, but they agreed DLSS makes image quality worse in FH5.

what are the chances of an Alpine F1 car appearing? FM5-7 all had their Lotus/Renault f1 cars of the same years.

I hope we get some 2000s and maybe even 2010s F1 cars, but im not sure what the license situation is like for them. They've been appearing in other games, but it seems more like a specific deal (like Alonso for Grid, Hamilton for GT7).

I asked on a Gamescom clip and the uploader said "You can. This is a quick race not career. Career is different." But whether that is gospel, who knows? I don't remember them selling that feature last time out and even some players with the game didn't know you could!

Is it only the f1 team, or does it extend to the LMDh/LMP2 teams as well?
IIRC, Microsoft is NOT among the sponsors of the (Signatech) Alpine LMP2 team. Microsoft actually sponsors only the Alpine F.1 Team, not other Alpine sports activities, which are managed by different teams (as we know, the current Alpine F.1 is the former Renault F.1, which many years ago was Benetton F.1, based in Enstone, UK; while the Alpine LMP2 is run by the Signatech team, formerly known as Signature, based in Bourges, France).

I'm with you there. I sure hope we can too. 2-3 lap races are an absolute joke. That's not even a good practice session let alone a race. Why would you want to blast through the career and be done with nothing left to do so quick? These better looking AI seem like it would be better at extending track time as well.
One thing that I find annoying with FM7 that I recently am testing out, is that doing the career, I spend more time in the menus and clicking buttons than actual racing on the track.

You can set FM7 races to longer length for the career. Heck, there's even an achievement for winning one of the endurance races set to longer length! Also in single race mode outside the career you can set number of laps as you like.

the FM2023 builders cup showcase demonstrated increased race length as one of the options available. It's there but we aren't sure just how long races can be.

I continue believing it would be incredibly strange for a game to model tire wear and fuel, some the world's most prestigious tracks for endurance racing, and still feed us the same 3-lap schlop. I'd also be disappointed in a generic "max 50/99 laps" race length.
So come on, Forza. You know you want to let us race for 24 real-time hours...

Seriously? Where? I'll have to go through a little more thoroughly I guess. Not that it will really matter in a couple months. I'm just using a demo I just downloaded to see if I'd like it anyways. So it's just going to come right off the hard drive in October. The verdict so far is that I didn't know I'd be a Forza guy but I guess I am. (outside of the sims of course :D )
Edit: I meant in career mode, obviously you can set up single custom races with plenty of laps.

That's probably because Forza Motorsport is GT's one real competitor, and given that GT7 falls flat in so many areas, they feel the need to tear down other racing games to save their own. Or something, I don't know with some people. Not saying FM can't also fall flat, but it's quite sad because both games will have their positives and negatives. Yet good old fanboy wars between 12 year olds and man children ruin any sort of gaming discussion (as we've seen numerous times in this very thread).
It really is pathetic. And I say this as someone who has a very deep attachment to GT.

It's in the assists menu, I think with the longest option races are around 30-45 minutes IIRC.

you rarely see many people like both
I like both, in fact my both favorite games are the 4 game of series, besides i also like FM3 beacuse have more NASCAR stock cars than 4 but it is fun and ok
GT AI is horrible
its weird that they had not put Sophy direct in the game and just instead prefered keep the old Ai and sophy as "look what we can do" exemple

Nashville GP
I doubt, wish it had but unlkely due multiple reasons

Nice one, fingers crossed then.It was in FM7 so i cant see any reason for it not to be in the latest game but who knows. 👍

Thanks for the info on that. I feel a bit dumb. I usually look through the settings better than that 🤦‍♂️ Hell, I took a whole night setting up my wheel to feel perfect with all those settings. Why it's in assists setting though is weird, I turn off all assists and never think about them again. That must be why I passed it up.

If I may ask another question, was there anything mentioned yet that pertains to something like Forzathon? Is Forzathon well received? I liked the idea of it giving you some things to do to work towards a prize. I haven't been able to scour over all the little tid bits that have been released lately. There's a lot going on.
