To be fair, similar comments were made about GT7 coming from GTS. It's only ~5 years there, but the sentiment is the same. It's amusing, but very predictable.
To be fair? GT7 is just GT Sport with some tuning and some weather. I think the point is, FM(2023) is not the same as FM7 even though some people are trying their hardest to say and believe it is. That's why it's amusing. FM has new reworked tracks, new physics, new updated cars (even though there is still reworked assets). New HUD, new features. GT7 has more ties to GTS than FM has to FM7. And one is 6 years in the making and the other 5? That's pretty close on the timeline.

People complain about loading screens in Starfield, but what other game could you balance a 50 pieces of cheese on each other, go and play 50+ hours across the galaxy and then come back and they are still just sitting there?

Is the '67 DBS entirely new to the franchise? I know the 1969 model was included in FH4 as a "James Bond edition" but I'm guessing that's different.
It is most likely the very same.

I have also found it odd that T10 have decided that Current Sports cars are a great starting point for the Builder's Cup, racther than the 6 average hatches that they have confirmed:

The 2011 batch of cars would be slow enough to satisfy those who had the FM4/FM3 itch.

IF that was too monotonous (FWD), they could have gone with everything in this list below the Scirocco. These vary with all 3 drivetrains.

Also here's the FM intro video:

It feels very FM4

Yeah, I feel they should have given a selection of 4-6 vehicles, though for each drivetrain class. There would be a bit more variety, and you would get a better feeling of “yeah, that’s my first car!”

Had been away for some time,
Soo its time to see what is going on, you can skip me if you want since i had stopped in the page 194 oof, also sorry for late mensages, IRL had been quite busy on last few days

No Forza GP, which means no Alpine F1 car (yet).
It looks that the only modern formula car is the Formula Mazda, but considering Super Formula licence seems free to all, i wonder if Forza will try get it as well

That is a great sign, it means that Forza and iRacing are getting the scans from same place

I wonder if the other IMSA cars will come via carpass or the first game update will be about that
Also maybe the superformula is on it as well?
I wonder if RTGI will be FH6 only or is already working somewhat in those new RT functions added to FH5 on the PC?
FH5 already had RT updates after launch on last few years

Looks like eNASCAR redesigned their website. Why am I bringing this up in the Forza Motorsport thread? Well, that fifth game down sure links to an interesting webpage...
Intresting that it is FH5 listed and not FM, i wonder if Xbox maneged to get a Arcade license of sorts, or (hopefuly) Forza will be the first game post motorsport games
I mean, I still hope we get the eventlab 2.0 with the flat island.
I dont think we will get eventlab, i think we will get something more closer to GT6 Track Creator than FM5
It's similar to Enthusia Professional Racing, where you race your cars in stock form, and level them up. I think upgrades were also tied to your cars' levels as well. Kind of sounds like the same philosophy Chris described: "Build not Bought."
I am suprised someone mentioned Enthusia, its the first thing i had in mind when i saw car XP and its such a shame that Konami never worked that game further
I was hoping we would get a 2024 Mustang in some form, be is standard, GT or GTD. I assume it's probably too new?
Yea, likely
But i think we will get soon, specially with IMSA having the new Mustang Challenge
Besides Game Pass and continued sales of the game (which dwindles as time goes on), how do they expect to make money on the game for the rest of the generation? How do they continue payroll? Since they said they are not developing a sequel this gen, I guess I don't understand how this GaaS will work for them if the cars and tracks DLC are free.
just see what Forza Horizon has done on last two games and you will see how it will work
I'm on console
Console mod support is confirmed : )

If you look at :40, it looks like the mission R will be part of Forza GT
The car classes are really my biggest concern at the moment. It's not that big of a deal with road cars but with race cars it can be rather annoying to see a 10+ year span of cars that aren't even close to each other performance wise in real life thrown together into a single class.

Some intresting talk about the game in some Brazilian Traditional Car media, Quatro Rodas

Title: "New Forza Motorsport is more realistic and demanding without frightening the player"

Some queotes from the article, translated
The introduction sets expectations high. It starts with a lap around Maple Valley, a classic Forza Motorsport track, with the Chevrolet Corvette E-Ray, the hybrid version of the sports car. It's hard not to be distracted by the leafy trees, the shadows, the sun breaking through the mist and even the stains on the asphalt. It was more impressive than seeing leaves flying and car parts vibrating in previous Motorsport events.

I confess I was surprised by the explosion of the V8 engine coming into action to support the electric motors, just like in the real car.

The purplish early evening sky is stunning, but the difference in behavior and adherence starts to show

I chosed Subaru and I haven't regretted it. In fact, it reminded me of when I played Pokemon and chosed Cyndaquil at the start of The game.

(About the new challenge the grid) It's almost like a bet that pushes you towards a goal, but without forcing you to win the race straight away in order to make great progress in the game.

(at end) I was very eager to continue playing.

It bothers me too. In the short time I just had in FM7, I noticed GT4 cars winning races against GT3 and GTE cars and Some GTE cars placing at the bottom of the field at race end. It's just blasphemy. I'd rather have 4 cars in a class that makes it realistic than have 24 all mish mashed together just to have a huge group of cars.

I feel that unless they had updated it on the last updates before launch, i think that we will have Forza GT on the first months of the game
But eventually (hopefuly) they will split the categories

I haven't seen any Brazilian content creators who have played, The T10 could have paid more attention to this.

Also voicing my frustration that they have not after 6 years split GT cars into different categories. For all I care they can call it Forza GT1, Forza GT2, etc, etc but not all different kinds of GT cars in one group. That just makes absolutely no sense. Heres to hoping theres a work around embedded within the game where we can group our cars or they update the class names eventually.

One thing we haven't seen yet is the rain effects in the cockpit view. I have a feeling that it will be the same as FM6/FM7/FH3/FH4/FH5 which will be disappointing to me. It looked good back in 2015 but we are 8 years later now.

They're both games in long running series, it's expected that there's some carry-over between games. One of them is going to have more carry-over than the other, and it's probably GT7. But GT7 had a bunch of new stuff too. You choose to ignore all the new stuff that was done in favour of looking at what stayed the same. All that stuff you listed that FM has as new? Yeah, GT7 definitely doesn't have any of that.

Realistically, it doesn't matter how much was or wasn't copied or how long it took to make if a game is fun. It's a stupid argument that attempts to attach negativity to a game for something that isn't inherently a negative. It's not rational, it's haters and fanbois trying to get in the opening shots in their endless brand war. I was pointing out that people will make the same daft argument about any game, be it Forza or Gran Turismo. Thanks for proving me right.

We should judge the product, not the process that led to making it. Otherwise people would write off stuff like GT4 as a GT3 clone that took too long to make, when realistically it's probably the best game Polyphony ever made.

IMO, FM23 looks very similar to FM7 in ways that are essentially why I would even consider buying it in the first place. I'm interested to see how some of the new systems that they've added feels to play myself, but I'm well past expecting major revolution from any of these games.
