Trying the new KTM now, it's alright. It weirdly has positive camber in its default tune, so I'd recommend fixing that. Its default gears are kinda long, which exaggerates its turbo lag a little bit but other than that it's pretty cool. Should also make an interesting canvas for painting... if anyone wanted to use the paint shop in this title anyways.

Ran a short race in the new Challenger from the Car Pass too. It's pretty cool, a unique car for sure. It doesn't drive (or sound) as nasty as it should be for 800+ horsepower, but it's definitely fast and can bite you. Cockpit view is interesting with a bracing bar in a less than convenient spot for some corners, but not a big deal. Will try it out later in Forza GT and see how it does I guess.

The wheel and tire package on modern Trans Am cars looks so good. Fat tires with plenty of sidewall on deep rims look so "right" on tube frame silhouttes.

Trans Am, Super GT GT500 and Class One DTM for the ideal Forza Gr. 2 experience.
Is GT the only game that has Super GT cars anymore? There was a point where Forza even rivaled GT in having multiple teams, but it seems less & less racing games give them any thought. :indiff:

The last Forza to have Super GT cars was Motorsport 7 with just the Nissan GT-R NISMO GT500. Really hope they add back not only old GT500's even going as far back as the JGTC era and the early pre-Class One days, but also new to Forza GT500's.

This is the only racing game on any console with in-game RT.
Can GTA count as racing? All I've done so far in it (only ever played the RT version of V) is drive around, the cars all look great to me. A shame we don't get mods on consoles, I'd imagine someone on PC has made the handling amazing to go with all their real car mods?

To be fair I really hope Rockstar release another racing game to spice up the market, or just give VI great handling, and wheel support.

Wish a racing only title followed their lead and gave us made up cars, that way we could have everything, including full damage models, whatever sponsors we want etc - take an age verify check at the start to block the scary stuff like tobacco/alcohol but not energy drinks (?) to kids if need be. Can they advertise 0% beers instead, be a good sponsor market for games in particular surely?

They're quite similar to that of Forza Horizon 5, but with lower cornering speeds and more pronounced understeer and oversteer.

In comparison with GT7, road cars feel a bit more controllable from what I remember of that game, and somewhat more predictable.

I’ve been critical of this game, but saying the physics are quite similar to FH5 is so far from the reality. The physics are actually one of the real highlights of this game and as others have said, if you try and drive like you do in FH5 you’ll quickly find the truth.

It’s closer to GT7, better in some areas, falls short in others. The tyre modelling I find to be very good, the feel of weight and weight transfer, is very good and they seem to have fixed FWD cars so they don’t just default to wild under steer regardless of what car it is.

Still occasional random snap oversteer and times where the brakes are completely ineffective, and it’s not the last word in simulation racing. But it’s pretty dam good in this regard.

Seems like the new Spotlight cars are here, I just had a server disconnect and 3 messages in the inbox

Some proper tracks for Touring Car series Multiplayer too! Was worried they wouldn't change.

No new VIP Rivals event though, got the Featured KTM Road America one.
To add on to this, they also changed the race lengths up for the different divisions, with Forza GT now running "short" and Touring Cars running "medium" which is pretty cool. Means the strategy stuff with tires should be switched up a bit, which is nice as the touring cars in particular were a little too simple.

Videos like these are nice, but I can't help to think that an in-game driving school, like we used to have, would been better (and I don't mean the intro races).

For me, this video shows extremely well that Forza has an identity crisis.

The video is good and the information is correct, that's not the problem. But, Forza positions itself as Sim Racing as Rossi says in the video so beautiful. In addition, they have a racing driver at the start! But then they make the whole thing with the controller only? Set up a rig and let the racer drive the car like a sim racer.

I’ve played it for some hours now and I started to have my first thoughts.

I like that every career event is part of championship. This is great.

Graphics are nice, but nothing revolutionary.

Multiplayer is great. Big improvement since FM7!

Car classes are… wierd Forza GT is a wierd mixbag ofGt3 cars, trackday cars etc.

AI is crap. Way too agresive

I have mixed feelings about physics. Roadcars feels great but I still don’t like Forzas racing cars approach. GT3 and GTE cars feels more like tuned supercar than a fully flegded racing car.

I don’t like upgrade system here. It feels artificially dragged to make the game longer

That’s about it.

Putting a race on at VIR for the latest Featured Series, in that KTM with its evil handling is a crime.

So much low speed understeer, followed by death dealing oversteer on corner exit.

I've got no idea how that car feels on controller with the stock setup, but I can't imagine it was good. On the wheel it's was a handful, even after I tweaked the tune in an attempt to get it to behave.

For context, gave it a bit of rake as the rear current sits lower than the front, cranked up the aero at the rear, a little at the front to balance it out - and readjusted the toe/out values.

I did try the stock setup and immediately was like 'nope, Turn 10 you dun goofed up again - no way did you playtest this properly'

AI is crap. Way too agresive

I'm relieved to see this sentiment shared. This game has so much rubbing is racing. I fear for the state of MP because the SP certainly doesn't help you stay clean. I'm not asking for the cars to part like the Red Sea but to not be completely bullied off the track in packs would be nice.

Is anyone else experiencing a crash every time they visit the upgrades menu after an event? I'm seeing it 100% at the minute on Xbox Series X and it's making playing the game very difficult. It's a shame because I'm enjoying the racing and the whole race > upgrade > race game loop. My only other issue is the overly aggressive AI and the fact that only 1 car seems to actually be competitive in each race, the rest just disappear behind me. Standard Forza stuff.

I could replace my R2600 for a R5600 but I'm not sure it would solve the problem given other players shared experiences.
I'm running at 80fps with 5800X3D and 4080, with the benchmark showing the CPU to be the limiter. To get 80fps I've created a custom resolution in the Nvidia Control Panel that has 80hz refresh rate, and I set the game to unlocked(vsync). The benchmark predicts that the system will drop below 60fps, but in practice it seems to hold 80fps almost all the time in races against the AI. My plan is to hang in there with the 5800X3D till the gen after 7800X3D, with that needing a new motherboard and RAM.

Nalak has a 7800X3D and 4090 and seems to be holding a solid 100fps cap.

Trying the new KTM now, it's alright.
I'm beating the WR for Homestead oval by 1.4 seconds with it, but the game won't save my time to the leaderboard :(

Challenger Trans-Am it's a great addition on FM.
Hoping for more unique cars like this american V8 racer.
Is it more driveable than the GTX class cars? I commend the real world drivers managing to have all that power under control for a whole race

Well I got the game on release , played around 20 hours so a few thoughts .

The car upgrade thing needs fixing , i mean seriously if you decided to own all 500 cars it would take between 1,000/1,500 hours to level them all up , give or take a few hours .

First time I started it up .................arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhh whomever decided to have the Narrator thing in game needs a rotating pineapple shoved up thier bum . took me ages to shut that thing up .

Wheel yup I use a oldish G29 and have after trial and error got it almost setup how I like it , kinda weird looking at the PS Buttons and logo on it playing FM8 though .

Car List it ok so decent ones in there , Tracklist is a bit bare , looking forward to the Green Hell being added at some point .

Carreer mode still early days got a feeling it won't take long to get through it all though

Graphics , i'm on a PC with a older 1080ti and it plays fine for me , looks ok , no raytracing doubt if i'll miss that somehow though .

Happy with it yer got the Premium edition for a decent price from CDKeys so feel like i'll get my moneys worth out of it .

The Xbox controller triggers are so light that I’ve broken another right trigger (it sticks when I release it) about a week after I got it. Maybe I can do a return or something $70 isn’t a tiny sum. Are the elite controllers more durable? I don’t want to shell out and it breaks 5 days later.
I have an elite 2 for about 6 months, had no problems like some users have had.Read the different reviews and you,ll see some people having issues that others dont.
My original one s controller is still going strong as a back up With no drift. ( yet).lol.

They have a little rubber stop that can be damaged if you press the trigger hard, then it sticks on that stop. If you don't mind making the controller unreturnable, you can open it up and completely remove that stop. It will mean the trigger then hits hard plastic at the end of its travel so it feels less nice, but it won't stick. There are videos on YouTube of how to open the controller up, but you will cause cosmetic damage to it, and you also need a special tool to undo the little screws, you can get those quite cheaply from ebay sellers.

Dare to be different, must be the only person using the Levorg in online touring cars. I know it’s down on PI but I like the RWD nature of it.

Being RWD it should be the softest on its tires, have you found it opens any tire strategies up?

I did the Kyalami race tonight but didn't think about it and chose a FWD car but realized it's only 8 laps now in the touring cars. In the GT cars I was able to no-stop the 9 laps at Kyalami on the hards in Audi, but the Audi isn't easy on tires so it required saving a little too much to be in contention if fast guys were around. Might be viable in the Subaru at 8 laps.

Lime Rock is also a rough track on tires for FWD, and I saw people even struggling to go medium>medium during the race in FWD cars so the Subaru could be good there too.

It doesn't seem to have the same advantage off the line the real life RWD cars have in the BTCC, and I'm guessing the lower straight line speed will get you swallowed up at the start and dragged back into the part of the grid that is messy though.
the RCF got a new Forza Widebody kit, they went for the "subtle" look of widening the original fender line. Rocket Bunny Widebody and wing is also stiil present btw.
Looks interesting, thanks for sharing.

Since we can't even see them until we unlock them, earlier I was trying to find some pictures of the new widebody kits but couldn't find much out there other than the Forza Editions and S15. I saw a widebody Viper in the new "Featured" career thing earlier, that looked very much like a GT racing style kit and I like the idea of those, so I've started doing the AFK auto-drive thing to earn them, and currently have the Mercedes AMG GT R "cooking" right now. Hope it's also GT-car inspired.

If they don't change this car grinding nonsense, I'd like them to at least change it so we can look at the aero parts and widebody kits before we unlock them, so we can decide if we think they look cool enough to spend the time.

I've really been enjoying the online racing in the touring class, some very fun clean racing. I'm really surprised that the forza community adapted to having to be clean and respectful so quickly after the destruction derby online in Forza 7. I've always been an offline career gamer but honestly I don't have slightest desire to even play the career, battling against real people is so much more engaging than AI it's really no contest. I'm feeling that I might put some serious hours into this game.

It definitely holds on to the fronts a lot longer, which make sense, so on tracks like Maple Valley and Laguna short I can make up a lot of ground through the race. It suffers in qualifying, low fuel soft tyres, it just doesn’t have the outright 1 lap pace but over a race I find it to be strong. Surprised no one else does.
