They do, but it's an exception, not the norm at all.

I do hope all of the new cars are up to this standard, but we still have far too many older cars that are nowhere near.

Good job to them though, it shows they really can do better, it's now a question of will they ever be consistent with it?
Or maybe it's a completed and polished model rather than an incomplete and unpolished model. Some of the people here are so against everything and so quick to judge based of a preliminary, unfinished build.

What information were you expecting? Every Motorsport game has worked with a wheel (with the possible exception of the first one that I haven't played). This one will support wheels. There's no possible reason to think that it wouldn't.
Just wanna confirm FM1 also worked with a wheel. I know, because I tried setting up my FM2 wheel to work with it in backwards compatibility on 360. That didn't work, but the options are there.

I mean, it's not unusual for Forza to reuse very old models that don't look good. The fact that they're appearing in this trailer tells me they're doing it again. That's what they've shown us. What have they said or shown that suggests they'll redo or overhaul these models before release? FH5 is still using a few models from the first Forza Motorsport from the first Xbox, in 2005. FM7 also used these. There's everything suggesting they're just reusing old models again, nothing suggesting they won't.

Comparing this “deep dive” to Gran Turismo 7’s is interesting.

Maybe Forza Motorsport isn’t ready enough for a 30 minute breakdown (and no, I don’t expect today’s Forza Monthly to expand on that a ton either). I get it, game dev is hard and things don’t feel complete until very close to launch.

Maybe Turn 10 was only given a 7 minute slot in the Developer Direct (which is in line with the other games).

Either way, the Gran Turismo 7 Deep Dive is one of the most comprehensive pieces of racing game promotional material I’ve ever seen, and rewatching it has reaffirmed my opinions on what Forza Motorsport has (and hasn’t) shown so far.

The Forza deep dive is supposed to be today on the Forza Monthly show.

@Imari "What information were you expecting? Every Motorsport game has worked with a wheel (with the possible exception of the first one that I haven't played). This one will support wheels. There's no possible reason to think that it wouldn't."

I was referring to the wheel physics as compared to GT7, AC, and others. It's not even on field...especially if you don't know how to make adjustments. Lap times with controller vs. wheel in FM7 are night and day for most. I've spent hours trying to get the right feel on FM7 and I'm happy where I have it now. Would be nice to have great FFB out of the box the GT7 came.
Fair enough. Although the FFB update for FM7 did a reasonable job I feel, at least on PC for the wheel I'm using. Prior to that coming out I was using Emuwheel to get it feeling decent, but afterwards it was good enough not to bother. Maybe it was different for you.
I sense an impending demand for replacement livers.

Ah nice they lied about rebuilding all of the car models (again) to justify chopping the car count (again). I can't wait until they start mass porting stuff they "made" for Horizon (again) as paid DLC that still won't look very good (again) (but it was actually stuff they made as DLC for 4 anyway). And this time I didn't even need to see any specific close-up of a model to guess when I saw some of the cars in the trailer. I also can't wait until we see the same Livery editor bugs from 2011 show up in this all new 2023 game with all new assets. Gonna dig when the SW20 shows up and it still looks stretched vertically by 10%.

At least when PD lies to you about what they are doing en route to ripping you off the game looks good. Turn 10 at this point is more like Game Freak.
All I can say is at least this time people seem to be calling it out? T10 has the sleeziest marketing strategy which is I think my biggest issue with the whole Forza ecosystem - if I hear Dan say one more time that crinkling carbon fiber is some profound technological achievement, I'm going to lose my ****.

(FYI I haven't bought a mainline FM or GT title since GT5 in 2010 so it's not as if I have some GT boosting agenda)

Old Laguna Seca Layout and new AI (that they said is faster than any of their drivers without relying on any cheats and boosts like in the last games) sound like good improvements
It wasn't mentioned much, but the new AI has already been talked about years ago.

That... might've only been in an interview with Dan Greenawalt though. I can't remember now.

It's already over.
Oh
Lol, "We need to get you a button that when you press it, it's just you saying FROM THE GROUND UP".

Presenter lady channeling the community vibe there. Get a new schtick, Chris.
It's a Microsoft thing, lol. They love drilling statements into people's heads.Reminds me of their E3 announcer,i kept hearing "world premiere" "exclusive" after their E3 shows

"More advanced AI, Tyre compounds, fuel weight will have an impact on your times...." Ok Mr Chris this sounds promising but gotta see it to believe it. I don't mind them taking another year as long as they make this game right. We don't want a premature release like they did with gt7.
I also hope they stop talking about the graphics or raytracing because honestly nobody cares. There is horizon for that.

How many times have we seen things in trailers that ended up not being in the final game? It's also entirely possible these cars are placeholders for something else and won't even be in the final game.
