Rebuilding tracks does not mean you throw out the baby with the bathwater.

Also, as someone that professional 3D models from references...

If you rebuild something from the same references, you get the same results.

I play on PC; you're in a part of the forum devoted to a literal Xbox game bro.

I've been playing Forza Motorsport since the first game; does that disturb you?
Why would they rebuild everything again if they already have it? They redid the road surfaces it seems because of the new physics, but most of the tracks are the same assets with some additions added on top. The stuff that was wrong remains.

I play on PC also, and have also been playing FM since the first. We used to butt heads back on Forza central, so it's nothing new

Then there is no need to insult me, as if I insulted you.

I've beaten GT7s career, I don't just play one racing game.

I don't even play GT7 anymore thanks to the sub-par career mode. Forza's isn't much better but it's newer and I still haven't beaten it (mostly because it's bland)

Once either of these games offers a decent progression system I'll be all over it.

I agree 100%, I don't like Forza's current career mode and I really didn't like GT7s.

I don't play GT7 anymore because I can't justify paying to play Playstation online.

I want a career mode that starts you in a crapbox and has you work your way up through all the segments, all the way to F1 racing.

Me too, which is why I play GT4 and FM4 over and over again like a crazy person

If only FM4 had F1 cars!

You could literally install an exhaust upgrade on a Tesla in GT7. Quality control issues in racing games are pretty universal at this point.

Some guy messing up some grammar or accidently saying all electric in a tweet means about jack but is pretty funny.

If people think the Valkyrie is bad, you should see the Ford GT video where they nearly kill themselves driving it. A car that didn't come with TC stock. That is only 550 hp.

Thats just it you cant install an exhaust on tesla in gt7 the only power upgrade you can make is ecu, you cant change oil either

But there's a huge obvious typo in the reused asset.
True, and it's definitely not a good look, but also I wouldn't be surprised if the devs decided that it wasn't worth using resources to fix a single typo on a sign that most people will be passing by at speed, and as such won't take the time to notice. Hell, I personally didn't even know about that until just now.
Also you have no problem that they continuously lied during their promotion of the game, constantly stating the game was built from the ground up?
If you're asking me personally, it became very evident very quickly that "Built From the Ground Up" was nothing more than a marketing slogan, albeit a very bad one. TBH it should've been clear when they showed that in-engine shot of the '94 Miata with the ugly Forza rear wing when T10/MS started to really show off the game. Because of that, I personally didn't put too much stock into it, and kept my expectations relatively low.

It's very similar to how Sony/PD said that GT7 would be "going back to its roots," which was very clearly not the case to anyone familiar with the old GT games.

I am very much of the opinion that re-using perfectly good assets is smart game design.
The funny thing is, this is a case were the didn't re-use a perfectly good asset. You see, there are TWO instances of this sign on that track. The one at the top of the hill is spelled correctly and uses a convincingly close font, and this one, at the bottom of the hill uses clearly the wrong font and is misspelled. The signs are a bit different in terms of size and proportions, and the one at the top of the hill has a wood frame around it. They are both octagon-shaped. I am willing to bet with a little massaging with scale and proportion, they could have easily used the same texture on both signs and avoided this embarrassment.

Proably old video or footage, currently in gt7 you cant change oil or upgrade exhaust on either of the two tesla, including the taycan, or maybe you have not played gt7 recently, why are you showing like 1 year old videos even if this was a mistake this have been patched a long time ago

What @McLaren is trying to show is that PD make the same kinds of mistakes in GT7, otherwise comparing a game that released a few months ago to a game released almost 2 years ago is kinda pointless

Arguing about marketing slogans is pointless.

What about "real driving simulator"? We could spend weeks tearing that one apart.

That has been part of branding since gt started in 97, but the thing is pd has never claimed to be better than anyone else, Chris Esaki said plenty of times it would have as good physics as the best simulators on the market, false, he also said it would be the most advanced racing game of all time also false, turn 10 is the worst when it comes to marketing, pd makes some errors in their marketing to but not as bad as turn 10,

Of course it was a mistake. But the fact is, PD let it slip in when it didn't make sense from a realistic viewpoint.

And as I already told this before; it's an oversight. All games make them in various forms b/c developers aren't perfect. The difference is the attitude some people afford 1 developer over another.

So was the tweet from T10.

Just a quick post to break up a little bit of the negativity facing FM right now by highlighting a great forza moment.

Just did an 8 lap multi-class race on Road America in freeplay with me being in GT class using one of the 911R GTE cars while also being on the track with Forza P2 and Forza Proto-H. I set the race with variable weather, in the evening with x12 rolling time and right away it was rainstorming so I switched to wet tires. This race overall played out so well it just makes me realize when things go right and look well its absolutely well done. From the rain coming down in bucket loads, lightning flashing and track being drenched and seeing my slight tuning work make this well balanced porsche hold onto the top 3 cars in my class. To all of a sudden the rain stopping, the low lit sky becoming pitch black and the track drying and watching these other GT3 cars slowly reeling me back in because the porsche seems to have a better advantage in the rain and these boosted or bigger engine cars have better straight line speed in the dry. So I enter the pits like every one else and swap from wets to soft tires and finish the last two laps by barely holding onto second place with a Bentley gt3 and viper gtlm right on my tail. It was a great race and cant wait until more tracks and even more cars in each class gets added.

Now this race as good as it was, highlighted a few issues especially in freeplay one being that there needs to be a way for us to set up the grid positions and tweaks to the AI is a MUST! It's getting annoying at times seeing the faster prototypes start out back and struggle to pass gt3 cars up front and even these pileups on corners during the first lap or two is also a what the hell moment. Faster cars should have no issue passing slower cars whether its on corners or straight aways. There seems to be a bug for the weather for said races where it displays the race info it said the weather as "dense fog" but it turned out to be a rainstorm which eventually cleared up and even the race I did prior said " cloudy" but it was drizzling the whole race so that needs fixing or resorting back to FM7's idea of picking the weather type for beginning, middle and end of race would be ideal too. Filtering of cars in each division or better yet a few subdivisions/ added divisions would be a great addition because I would just like to run IMSA sanctioned GT cars only without a trans-am being thrown in or a FIA WEC car added to my race. Of course I could use the fine details on race set up but its way too time consuming to get it right and sometimes bugs or unwanted cars still show up. Everything else I could think of would be too wishlisty so I wont go into detail there but freeplay isnt bad at all which is why I currently spend most of my time here until T10 decides to add more to and tweak the career a bit.

Technically, the physics engine is one of the most advanced in a gaming simulator.

If there is one major improvement it would be the physics engine, it's a big upgrade over FM7.

i know its an big upgrade over fm7 physics wise but to claim its as good as the best simulators on the market is a big no, and how is it the most advance racing game of all time that just turn 10 marketing, they are not doing anything groundbreaking that has not been done before, go back to the marketing for fm7 to they said the same thing there

Don't worry, in 3 years when this game is feature complete, and they have removed the Leveling system, we will be singing it's praises! :sly:
Me personally, I would rather not. This game has been broken beyond repair. The only real idea would to either invest more work and break more stuff in the process, or just declare it hopeless. Plenty of games have happened like this. Saints Row 2022 suffered this fate as well, for example. Even Moesus B himself said it best. Tough love is what it is.

Even if they try to fix it, it will take up to about 3-5 years, possibly even longer. Especially when the controversial leveling system, which would work fine in singleplayer, but not multiplayer.

But who knows. T10 could abandon it like the Titanic.

I know there's not very many racing sims that exist so that would mean that FM comes in what? About 8th in the list just above GT7. There sure are a lot of actual sims that come in before FM. I mean AMS2 simulates the fuel sloshing around in the tank, not to mention all the other crazy parameters. It's damage model alone is pretty in depth. Let's not get too crazy falsely putting FM up on some pedestal.
It's true that they did upgrade the physics and they are quite nice but there still is a lack of calculations being done and the feel is still quite gamey. Plus they can claim all these "points of contact" that the tires supposedly make, but after their track record, do you really believe them?

FYI, in this forum it's really easy to ignore users.

I'm really looking forward to the Mustang Trans am that's coming at some point in car pass, although the GT3 Mustang that's currently in testing would be awesome I don't feel like we'll see it anytime soon, would make great cars to paint some of the excellent V8 supercars liveries onto.

Achievements of a supposed Xbox One version have been datamined 🤔
it was tested before the launch but they havent decided to launch on Xbox One
it was rumor sometime ago, even before the 2023 spring launch date reveal

more than likely, its xcloud stuff or leftovers of the rejected Xbox One version
Also MS deserve all the hate for making T10 ship the game WAY too early. This is a product and as a consumer I don't need to give these companies sympathy. You release a half finished product which people paid 100 quid for, you're gonna get some well deserved criticism. I would actually feel some sympathy for T10 but the amount of lies they peddled during the promotion of this game is just unforgivable I'm afraid.
The problem with a company is that, at same time that they are not your family or some beatdown anti-corpo phrase goes, there has lot of workers that depends of the sucess of a game to have a job, if not, they will be more than likely to be victims of layoffs and likely will take some time for they get jobs

Not only that but the part in specific only reflects what i told, it was not the devs fault it was marketing departament fault, you know the ones that makes all events where FM showed up, the ones that had told the devs what say even if probally they told that it wouldnt go well, the ones that are likely saying to the devs avoid that the game was a FALUIE at any costs beacuse in 6 months they can brag that they had maneged a """sucessfull""" launch and any blame from now on (if isnt already by your post) be pushed to rhe devs that crunsh the freaking out to deliver the best stuff they can, even if the time limit fo such thing is worst than the impossible

its never the top manegment that suffers, its always the frontline devs and in minor scale the middlemans of studio, never the top or the actual culpits like the marketing departament that probally is sleeping well or having some type of stupid fun in weekend while the studio devs wreack heads working in updates

just declare it hopeless. Plenty of games have happened like this. Saints Row 2022 suffered this fate as well
I wouldnt prefer you cited SR Reboot as a exemple considering what came from its falulie
You know, studio closed, people fired for mistake of others, game series going to the fridge for god knows year, possibly forever...

they have removed the Leveling system
Dude, i had told you i will tell again
They likely will reformunate the game systems, maybe new career mode and stuffs like this, it happened in Horizon a few times since FH4, i think will (hopefully) happen with FM too
This thread’s getting exhausting.

My life is getting exhausting... I wish that the deception that this game was would be the biggest of my problems...
