I really do wonder the explanation on stuff like this. It's fascinating.
I feel like it wasn't intentionally changed, at least. Maybe a glitch moving it to the new game and it was missed by the model team but I would find it hard to believe they would take the red, probably the most common interior color for the real car, and change it.

Meanwhile they took the model of the Porsche 993 GT2, did not fix the issue with the side-skirts and rear bumper (which are two pieces on the real car, the bottom part being black trim whereas the game has giant slab of body color side-skirts) but did paint the sport back seats and seatbelts in blue for the interior. So, clearly the modelers did look at the car, make some changes, but did not fix the issues with the exterior. Strange!

(picture is from FH3 but you get the idea, this is the same body in FM2023)

Maybe i will wait for next month update
I dont want risk to have reinstall the entire game again if those bugs are happening with Series X
Strange, no bugs obderved so far on my tired old series S

Minor edit: exept for one ctd from the freee race menu

I'll try installing it again and we'll see what happens. I'll report back in a few hours. I also submitted a ticket to Forza support.

The game has stuttered, been very slow in menus and crashed many times before, but not being able to restart was new 😬
Update: I reinstalled the game. All 150 GB of it. Took about 4 hours. I tried launching the game and... NOTHING. The game still gets stuck on the start/sign in-screen.

It seems like they've managed to accidentally introduce some sort of game breaking bug on XSX in the latest update.

Moral of the story: If your game starts to stutter, restart it immediately. Because if it crashes you might not be able to restart it.

Here's all the info about how it happened, which I wrote in my support ticket. The crash happened while I was in Forzavista:

Had you posted on Forza Forums too? i want vote for it

Also makes me scaried about how many are being affeted to it, its a thing that game is having problems in PC and another in consoles... THIS can be the thing that can kill the game...

Took the new Car Pass cars for a spin and it's a mixed bag.

The Valkyrie AMR Pro or whatever is weird. All the downforce it has over the regular version really makes a huge difference and it is insanely fast, to the point that it feels like an arcade game or something. It also has this weird sproingy-ness to it above like 120mph, on the straights it's kinda like porpoising but it also does it in corners too and it's distracting, and in very high speed cornering it's pretty unnerving. Obviously can't tune it yet so dunno if it's fixable.

The Caddy TA car is another TA car. Really nothing to say here and drives pretty much exactly like the other two. Has a cute little "anything worth doing is worth overdoing" slogan on the rear of it. It should be more popular with cockpit drivers as it is a bit easier to see out of than the other two.

Ferrari 488 GTE is pretty much what you would expect it to be too. Like it's fine, but nothing special and not my first choice of GTE car, and obviously dunno how it will do in the hoppers yet. I see some people elsewhere arguing that it isn't even an Evo model, but actually just a 2017 model that Risi ran without the Evo kit at Daytona in 2019 which is why it's called a 2019 in-game but... I can't really care.

For the "Featured Cars" I forgot to try the 430 and didn't care to drive the Murcielago (I'd bet the house on understeer), but '65 Giulia, new Giulia and 124 all drive like you would expect. Of course everyone can drive the Delta now, it has a weird blow-off valve noise or something... seems to work okay in hood/cockpit view, but in chase cam it just makes a little tick/scratching noise?
How did you get those cars?

Also can confirm the Sauber sound still sucks (I can't even tell if it has changed), and the TA Challenger makes noise again (although the brake lights are still stuck on).

The kerbs at Yas Marina are definitely much improved, and so far I haven't totaled my car on any of the red anti-cut squares of death at Silverstone which is kind of a small/specific detail but a big thing at the same time.

Also when the colors glitch in private lobbies, the Valkyrie AMR Pro's metallic green looks beautiful on the Giulia sedan and Delta, going to have to try to figure out how to make it with the custom color thing.
Are you beta testing?

After taking my newly won Huayra R around Daytona for a few laps and noticing the updated eye candy and trackside detail I realised I have no desire to go back to FM7 or 6, let alone 5 or 4. The track is a lot more fun to drive with the current physics.

Luckily I've had no stuttering or crashing so far on my console. I'm glad I shut the game down and quit at the end of every session. Maybe that helps.

I found a thread with some people having issues with the game getting stuck on the splash screen:

I tried launching the game in offline mode and that worked! But when I connected to the internet again and tried signing in it was back to square one. Could it be that T10 are having server issues?

Although server issues are annoying they should at least hopefully be fixed faster than a game breaking bug.

I did one race at Sardegna in GT7. I don’t know how anyone can even begin to compare the “grind” in FM23, which is just Free Play, any race any car any track any number of laps, and you get paid enough to afford the most expensive car in less than 3 hours. Yeah it takes a bit too long to upgrade, but what else are you going to do? Complain to developers about a game you don’t even play? Harass people online who do enjoy the game?

Oh they took the low bridge… yeah the official forums really are nauseating.

The stutter followed by game crash has been an issue for me since the first week of the game. Since I run organized league stuff and build cars for them, I often change back and forth between cars several times to build them up and run test laps, so I always figured it was from doing that too much.

For the week after the December update the problem seemed to go away a bit, but then was right back to normal, and as I was typing this message my game crashed while trying to choose a car, but my game has restarted just fine and works like normal.

I've had the thing where it won't launch on the main splash screen, when I pushed the A button it would make the click noise then nothing would happen and it would just keep showing my home area car from different angles, but every time it has done that another restart fixed it.
The Senna GTR seems like it has the wrong sound too. Just a turbocharged, loud generic V8 for no reason when in real life its actually as quiet as a 720s but with way more grip and braking.
To be honest I wouldn't notice as the Senna GTR was nothing I ever paid attention to, but it's unsurprising.

They seem to have done a bit better job with ambient sounds and minor details this time around, but that's about it. Even aside from the cars that have wrong sounds, most of the other ones just sound very boring and "soft" or tame.

The C7R is still one of worst for me, it sounded fantastic in FM6 but had a bit of a downgrade in FM7 but still sounded okay, and now in FM8 it sounds so tame and muted. It's at least still big displacement V8 noise though, unlike the poor Sauber that has been completely ruined.
How did you get those cars?

You can't "get" them so you can't tune/level/upgrade them, but you can drive them as rentals in private lobbies still, they haven't fixed it since game launch. Dunno if they know/care about it, or if they would even be able to fix it.

Haha no way.

So far after doing about a dozen or so races since the update it seems that they have tweaked the AI a bit. They no longer bunch up in the first turn at least from what im seeing and they keep pace better. They still are making dumb braking mistakes and the first 2 or 3 guys up front are still way ahead of everybody but this is some progress that I see.

Yep. I'm by no means a stellar driver and I had a ten lap race at Hockenheim National where I was unable to pass the level 6 AI frontrunner until halfway through lap 10. Great, engaging fun.

I don't understand why the option of standing or rolling start is not available in the quick race setup. To me that doesn't fall under "advanced". I tried a couple of races at Daytona with standing starts and the car wants to veer into the wall at the start. But it's been like that in other games too. Rolling starts are much better for me there.

I did have one instance of the game hanging up trying to load a race.

I tried launching the game this morning and it still gets stuck at the splash screen. So it seems like it wasn't just some temporary server issue.

It just grinds my gears when there's time limited rewards and game breaking bugs prevents you from completing them. I try to stay positive, patient and enjoy the things that I really like about the game. Like the stellar handling model for example. But issues like this, that aren't just an annoyance, but prevents you from playing altogether, is wearing my patience rather thin.

Anyway, I hope I get an answer from Forza Support today and that we'll be able to sort it out.

Regarding the car sounds it's a shame that several cars that sounds really good in FH5 sounds rather tame in FM. Like the Pagani Huayra R for example. One would think that they would be able to share sound files with Playground Games, but apparently not. Perhaps that doesn't work because FH5 is running on the old Forza Tech engine, idk.

Sorry to hear, have you tried a different user profile? I have seen someone last year have a similar issue and it was possibly a corrupt profile, not sure what the resolution was, but it would possibly narrow it down to a corrupt user profile. Support may be able to fix your profile up if that's the case, hopefully.

I have had the stuttering ever since launch, but it would only happen when I was viewing Designs, and applying Liveries to a few cars, back to back. I would start getting a slow down, and chugging while choosing a car in the Garage.. then it would crash to Xbox home screen.

I just tried this and with an alternate account I was able to log in and launch the game. It seems like my profile got corrupted when the game crashed yesterday. Fingers crossed that support will be able to fix this.

Yeah I don't really understand why there can be such a big difference in sounds, whether from Horizon to Motorsport or from prior Motorsport title to current. Doesn't seem like an area that should be going backwards, but it's obviously not something they will ever address publicly so we are left scratching our heads.

There are PC games out there where people mod sounds from one car to another, or sounds from different games into them. I'm not a coder/dev at all, and I know some "engines"/titles are easier to do certain things in than others, but it seems strange they can't figure out a way to keep using their existing superior/accurate engine sounds from previous titles if the alternative is to use sounds as awful as this Sauber we got in FM8. Okay so they aren't all that bad, but still...

I can imagine it's pretty frustrating. There are tons of little issues and bad decisions that can make this game frustrating and difficult to be positive about in moments while it's at least working so you can enjoy the good parts, so I can see how it would be tough when the game won't even start.

I just tried this and with an alternate account I was able to log in and launch the game. It seems like my profile got corrupted when the game crashed yesterday. Fingers crossed that support will be able to fix this.

Oof. Hopefully they can restore it. The FOMO stuff is annoying enough as is, but if you end up losing the previous cars you earned because you have to restart your save game it would really be a kick in the guts.

I thought one of the points of the whole Cloud thing was to have backups for these kinda situations.

Yeah, my worst fear right now is that I'll lose all my progress and the cars that I've already earned, leveled up and upgraded.

It wouldn't be such a big deal to restart my career/save file of it wasn't for the fact that I will both miss the FOMO-cars AND have to run each car in my garage for 3 hours again to be able to build them the way I want 💀

I've spoken to Support and we'll see what they can do.

@ManteoMax
Please, for the love of god. Fix your game!

It seems like little by little they are updating car engine/exhaust sounds whether its individual cars( the sauber c9 in this update, which still sounds a little off), the 787B in the last update which sounds great now or a cluster like back in update 2 I believe. But I think its one of the things they should have listed when they dropped that announcement last week of the things thats on their priority list to address in this game. We desperately need a sound update to cover most of the cars in game because this just isnt cutting it way too many inaccuracies and way too many cars just sound bland. Like others have said I dont get why they cant share or use sound files from more recent forza titles where the cars sound great like FM6 and FH5 while also allocating some of the sound crew to re-record some of the cars they can get ahold of. I know something like that could take time but it would be nice if every new car that makes it into the game could sound accurate going forward.
