I've tried it on two different HDR400 screens, and got the best results by lowering "brightness" to as low as possible (0 if you can't get the image in the left box to disappear), and the "HDR brightness" so that the image on the white background just disappears.

Adding HDR brightness definitely changes my image - the higher the HDR brightness, the more bloom I get (especially on clouds). Overblown colours seem to be more related to "brightness" than "HDR brightness" however, as does colour saturation in general.

Whatever, just set both sliders as low as possible to give the most natural image, at least on both of my HDR400 screens.

Edit: Forgot to mention that a HDR screen ideally has a base brightness setting already set high to ensure it can achieve good peak brightness when you need it, so that's what I do. Maybe you can also experiment with changing the screen brightness on your HDR 10 monitor and then tuning the game after that?
Thanks. I'll give it a shot when I am back on the PC. My monitors uses an unstadardized HDR rating apparently. I looked up the differences between HDR10 and other HDR ratings (like HDR 400) and HDR 400 has a required nit britness of 400, HDR 600 is 600 etc, but HDR10 is merely a screen that is capable of recieving a HDR signal. There are no requirements on brightness and vibrancy. These HDR10 screens are the MFG's cheapest way to put HDR on the box and to upsale the feature.

Don't get me wrong, there are some improvements over the SDR monitor I use to use, but there is a big gap in between these panels and any VESA rated HDR monitor. I cheaped out, and this is one of the features I got by doing so. LOL.

There are 2 things that annoy the crap out of me in this game: no lap board in time trial/test drive mode and no replay that plays automatically after exiting the track. I don't want to take photos as I'm driving and I don't want to make my own lap board! It's these little things that impact on my overall enjoyment of the game.

Forza Motorsport Update 7.0 Release Notes – April 8, 2024

1712592183094.png

Update 7 reduces the installation footprint of Forza Motorsport by around 15-20%, decreasing its file size by 25GB on Xbox Series X|S and 29GB on PC. To accommodate this optimization, today’s update will be slightly larger than usual at 15GB.

Update 7 also introduces Brands Hatch and the Retro Racers Tour to the game alongside new experience improvements, including changes to Forza Race Regulations and Proximity Arrows, as well as fixes to Multiplayer, the Livery Editor, screen narration, and the Le Mans track.

A note on Forza Race Regulations: In update 6 we made two specific changes to the FRR model. The first change was to add more examples of sideswipe collisions to the model’s training data. The second was to reduce false negatives and ensure we assign penalties to players who should have received them but weren’t. This second change had the unintended consequence of also increasing false positives by a much larger margin than anticipated, meaning, it assigned penalties to players who should not have received them. In Update 7 we have adjusted the weighting so that we expect to see false positives reduce and added more examples of sideswipes to our training data to continue to adjust the model.

Update 7 will be live in the game for 5 weeks before Update 8 is released in mid-May.

Below is a summary of new content and features, as well as items fixed or improved in Update 7:

Version Number:

  • Xbox Series X|S: 1.565.7629.0

Looks like a based and redpilled update, a good step in snatching victory from the jaws of defeat for T10. That is, of course, if the fixes they're listing actually work. We'll see soon, I guess.

Also... A Matra MS650 in short-tail configuration? A Renault RS01? A proper GT4 machine? And an LMP3? In the same update? I'm getting a bit dehydrated here. I even forgot about the Brabham BT8, which alone would probably be enough to keep me busy for the next five weeks!

This is exactly the kind of cars I was hoping to see this update, some excellent additions. Hopefully with the few more AI tweaks they did I will have some great vintage racing in freeplay.
On a side note I wonder if the McMurtry is suffering the same fate as the Maserati MC20 and wont be in due to licensing.

Excited to test out the proximity arrows, not a substitute for a proper radar, but if they manage to improve it it can only be a good thing. Also enabling it by default, finally.
Does that mean we have to turn them off every race,or just once in the menu?

There still needs to be an easier way to adjust max PI for customized races than, in my case on PC, rolling the mouse wheel. How about three boxes with up and down arrows on them to set the numbers individually?
Yeah, even on console. While I have a keyboard set up, all you would need is a click and type option, similar to how you enter text.
The work around is saving templates roughly for each class.

After you told me where it was I looked at trying one but I didn't have enough car points to get it and I'm not spending 51,000 credits just to try it.
I usually look for the one with the best speed and handling and offset the price against the prize money I make in doing a tour. If I don't break even then at least it's a discount.

Great list of new cars. Very impressed 😄 Classic 60s and 70s racers with the Matra-Simca brand making its first appearance in Forza 👍
Unless I'm missing something, it's actually the first appearance of Matra in any car game, period.

Hopefully T10 will take advantage of the relationship they've managed to build with whoever it is that owns to the IP to the brand to include a couple more Matras. I certainly wouldn't say "no" to a periscope MS670 or a championship winning MS80...

For those that didn’t notice the Ligier was not stuck in Forza P2. THE FORZA P3 DIVISION WAS CREATED!!!!!

Ginetta and Duqueine when
Oh hell yeah there is hope after all of them adding more divisions which is still very much needed. Its only a matter of time until we get its competitors and if im not mistaken someone found Duqueine's file in the game a few months back.

So, I downloaded the update and tried doing some improvised Forza-Science this evening.

The 2016 Lamborghini Aventandor SV does indeed sound better now:

It struck me that the gamma adjustment seems to have made the game look less washed out at noon in bright sunlight.
